Do it!

And start saving up for a shoulder rotator cuff surgery cause of the jillion high fives you're gonna get.

EDIT: Might want to get a neck brace too cause a body-kitted Prius is gonna launch like motherfucker off the line! Safety first.

Never mind

I started with a G-Force open face, could have sworn I paid ~$100. That was 10 years ago, looks like their prices have increased a bit.

This seems like a decent option.

u/MinimumEffort · 3 pointsr/TopGear

love it! they could have bought a Simpson helmet then give it back a couple days later, instead they made their own shitty version, BRILLIANT!

In 30 years Ive not had a helmet stolen or even messed with. I just loop it with a piece of para cord and a clip to keep the wind from blowing it off the seat. In a really bad neighborhood I might use the gun cable lock I keep under the seat to hook to my grab bar.

You can also go with something like this. Loop it through the sleeve on the jacket and into the helmet. Don't buy it on amazon. Your local Home Depot sells it for $15.

Sorry to hear. These might offer some piece of mind for your next lid.

I have this one on my bike. I have an engine guard, and it was suggested to me that I put it there, but my helmet was very close to exhaust pipes. So I ended up attaching it to my handlebars pics

A couple of years ago, I found a can of helmet specific cleaning product that shot foam out of a nozzle. Smelled nice and not overpowering, and was easy to use. I have no memory of where I bought it or what the brand was. I wish I had more.

edit: found it, bought more! Motorex Helmet Care...

Dango Designs Gripper Mount
I’ve seen a lot of youtubers promote these and they actually are really good! I made a short vid with my hero7 on YouTube that shows off the camera angle here . I love it!

There is also the Pro Shot
People also really swear by these. The reason the dango is cool is that it clips onto your mouthpiece so there’s no Velcro or anything once you remove it.

[Warhawk/Mohawk Rubber Saw Blade Helmet Accessory Piece (Helmet Not Included) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZTIPM5G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MEZRybWG36AE4](Here is a cool stick on Mohawk.) and it's rubber so I don't think it'll "catch" or "direct force" blah blah bla. Kid wants something to make his helmet look cool. I doubt he's bombing down hill runs. Most these comments are far to over protective.

I live in Chicago and use a HelmetLok

I haven't had any issues yet. I have the cable that goes with it and put it through my jacket sleeve and helmet and make sure the cord is visible. I understand it's not foolproof, but it's a good deterrent. Of note, I use it when I park for concerts and music festivals, so where there is a LOT of foot traffic and to date after 3 years of usage, nothing has been taken.

This is what I have. Mine has orange and white pin stripes. Granted I bought mine on a winning bid of $53 from the company. It looks cool, and I get quite a few compliments on it, but this helmet is literally just a BILT Apollo that another company bought in bulk, and put a cool paint job on it. Not kidding. I confirmed this by a couple different cycle shops. Granted this means you can easily get accessories for it.

These are pretty cool: Helmetlok HelmetLok II Lock - Black Rubberized https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BLPS29E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_UV79jJTCXjntF

I keep it in my side bag in case I do want to leave my helmet with the bike. I'll put my helmet over my sissy bar, and secure the helmet to it using that. My sissy bar does not come off easy either. You'd have to jack the bike, drop the tire, get a wrench on one side and an allen on the other. Not a quick thing... Anyway, the lock comes with a metal t-bar that goes through your d-rings. Not the best solution in the world... But aside from having a lock box on your bike (something the big baggers would have), not sure what else you could do. I usually take mine with TBH. A $400 helmet is too expensive to have stolen. When possible, carry it with you.

u/guileKlein · 1 pointr/motorcycles

I lock mine to the handlebars with one of these carabiner locks.

u/dougdoberman · 1 pointr/motorcycles

I use these on my helmets. https://www.amazon.com/Echo-Products-0108-001-Chin-Strap-Motorcycle/dp/B00I7KDXAY/ref=sr_1_3 Taking it off / putting it on is no hassle.

I remove it if I'm stepping away from the bike. Basically the only time I DON'T remove it is when I'm getting fuel and paying at the pump.

Standard feature on some helmets these days, and you can also buy a retrofit cushion for existing helmets: http://www.amazon.com/Shock-Doctor-Helmet-Removal-System/dp/B001JOB2US

If you were looking to spend a little more then the YI Action Camera works pretty good. I personally use it on the trails and it works well.

Along with the camera I would get the Proshot Helmet Mount System if it works with your helmet. I also use this on the trails and it hasn't moved at all since I put it on due to the heavy-duty velcro they use (I've also crashed a couple times while it was on and it hasn't budged). The chin mount also has no wind resistance, so when going fast speeds your head wouldn't get pulled to a side and branches wouldn't knock it off your helmet.

A Sandisk Extreme MicroSD is what I use and it is fast enough to do 1080p 60fps.

Overall this would cost you ~$140 for all three items. The camera also comes with a free battery offer on amazon so you would have two batteries to get you through a couple riding sessions. (Each battery lasts a little more than an hour)

Here is some footage at 1080p 60fps

Used to do chin, but it blocked the front air vent too much which sucks in my hot climate.

Got a side mount and it works great, I dont feel anything weird even at high speeds.

If you do go chin mount, there are some that are essentially a giant V shape, with the legs of the V being flexible and they stick to the sides of the helmet. That should work on anything imo. Example
