Giro Ledge MIPS Snow Helmet Matte Black Mo' Rockin' MD 55.5-59cm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GSX3MN7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_wJmSDbRYE6P7A

What about something like this? It does include MIPS and is only $70.

I got the Giro Ledge this season and I'm happy with it.

This is super awesome!!

Don't want to be a stick in the mud, but you should invest in a better helmet for her. As cool as the Frozen helmet is, it is a very low grade helmet that doesn't protect your brain very well in event of an impact.

Get her something that is MIPS certified or EPS 4D.

Tell her great job and keep on crushing it!!

I'm going into this season super stoked, but I need to replace a lot of my outwear this season since it doesn't fit me anymore (Went from XXL to L), and I'm not sure what to go with in terms of jackets/pants. I see a lot of talk of going with just a high quality Shell instead of an insulated jacket, and just layering accordingly. I was looking on Evo and found some items I liked, but wasn't sure if it'd be the best purchase, and was curious what you guys thought. The jacket I found was an insulated one and really liked the design, but if going the shell route is a better choice, I'd love to be pointed in a better direction.

Pants: https://www.evo.com/outlet/shell-pants/volcom-freakin-snow-chino-18

I'm also trying to replace some $30 spy goggles I bought last season, they just fogged way too hard, and it was impossible to see edges in the snow. I've been looking at Anon brand, but wasn't sure if that's the best route to go:

Anon MIG MFI : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NADFIQK

Anon M3 MFI: https://www.amazon.com/Anon-Burton-Goggle-Black-Silver/dp/B01N486DPS

Is there any major difference between the cylindrical vs spherical? Any recommendations?

And lastly: Helmets? Yay? Nay?

Considered picking up a cheap one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I886EA6

I'm basically replacing all my gear except my gloves and boots this year (Though I tore them up a little bit with the tow-rope last season, so I'm probably going to get some $20-$30 just for that). My board is definitely dated so that'll have to wait until next year, but my outerwear is non-existent at the moment, so that's my priority. Sorry for novel, appreciate any and all advice!

As others said, ski helmets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XFVSXR8/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_MVeKDbHT0KPZP

Like that nice Bern or risk it all cheapo mode on the Retrospec helmet

Even a full cut certified Pro Tec with a liner could work better than the aerodynamic lightweight options.

Really cold (like <10°F). I like that it wraps down over my ears. And I can stick some speakers in them. Also gives me a nice permanent perch for one of my lights.

I usually wear thin hood/balaclava under it. When its really cold, I go with a full face balaclava and some ski/board goggles.

Helmet, balaclava & goggles.

I use this mask https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZG7RF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_onhaCbP7A07EY

With this helmet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KGBWK8C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2ohaCb41FZT1K

With these Goggles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014PCJW3Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9qhaCbSV89JDR

I don't really have a problem with any fogging unless I'm putting my head down.

The facemask has a vent area for your breath.

Looks pretty good together imo: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Bf4BDSiibV8fp9ew8

I've got this helmet and love it. Look for a helmet with a magnetic buckle, so much easier to deal with when you have gloves on.

Here's a good place to start, not sure about your budget, these are all going to be $100+

POC with Beats headphone inserts is the amazing! Especially when you don't have to deal with any heavy traffic. I take a 5 mile bike path to work so the helmet + music is a must! Defiantly worth the price. The only downside is it gets a little warm so I swap it out for a basic Triple 8 on occasion.

Triple 8 actually makes snow helmets if that's the style you want. I owned one and it was alright but I much prefer my Smith Maze.

Honestly you probably need to try helmets on for them to fit you correctly, especially if you have had issues in the past.

My family bought 6 of these helmets from costco for like $30 each and they have fit every family member and friend who has worn them so far.

Just got a bern summer helmet. It looks like it might be good for warm days. I was impressed with their snow helmets and price. Ill let you know.

u/mccaincracker · 1 pointr/snowboarding

Not exactly what you're looking for because mine has the system built into the helmet, and i'm guessing you already have a helmet and only want the drop-in system

But, I have a ride duster helmet. Only had it for one season, but it's gotten the job done. The sound quality isn't extraordinary or anything, but i find it to be much better than using earbuds for the entire day. Only worry I have is that the aux port the hangs from the one ear of the helmet might begin to go bad, especially in the cold and how it can get tugged around if you eat shit.

Sure is!

Love this helmet, and for only $40.00 it's a great deal.
