Truth. My son whacked me in the head the other day with his new mop. That's was fun.
My son has this vacuum that he LOVES. I hate it. It sings all the time and has like a decoy off switch that doesn't actually turn it off. It was also a birthday gift from an in law. He has the fake dyson vacuum he loves too it's pretty annoying too since he turns it on and just wonders off and leaves it just making it's vacuum noise.

WOW! You mean I can buy mass-marketed toys to teach my kids how to "Spray-and-Play" at only 36 months of age !?

> These bottles looks just like my Mom and Dad's!!
it's ok to admit your argument is invalid. as people, we like to grow.
Is anyone willing to share their kids' absolute favorite toys/games/crafting supplies? (We have two girls ages 4 & 7.) I'm trying to be a lot more selective to avoid the toymaggedon that invariably happens every year when we end up with a lot of crap they don't care about or play with. And I refuse to get on the LOL doll/Pikmi Pops bandwagon because they are fun for the 3 minutes they spend opening them and then zero interest afterwards.
I'll share a few of our favorites in case anyone else is in the same boat:
7 y.o. loves: Uno (card game), Math Slam game,
4 y.o. loves: Melissa & Doug housekeeping set, M&D play kitchen
Both girls are obsessed with drawing/coloring with oil pastels
Family games we all love playing together: HeadBanz, Zingo, Monopoly Junior,
Not sure which one he was looking at but here are two dyson toy vacuums for much cheaper. 1 2
Ive actually been eyeing this, reviews seem legit. If anyone has this, I’d love to hear any input!

The boys got it for Christmas and they love it: https://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-House-6-Piece-Pretend/dp/B00FZMDAO6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522176802&sr=8-2&keywords=doug+mop
this is how I’m going to involve my toddler in spring cleaning this year!
We bought a revenge baby gift for our nephew. It was is retaliation for the Code-a-pillar my sister-in-law bought us (no volume button and super loud). We bought a Fisher Price Sesame Street vacuum cleaner with Elmo on it. Every 2-3 seconds it would scream "CLEANING CREW, COMING THROUGH!" in Elmo's voice. It. Was. Awful.
Omg you can still get it on amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Sesame-Street-Giggle-Vacuum/dp/B000ERVLSE
It also has Cookie Monster's voice if you drive it the other way, but he's not as annoying as Elmo. It would be great for an emerging walker, as they will push this thing everywhere!
The one I saw on Amazon was $60 and I got it at $30 with tax.

Riddle the First: Wine
I’ve heard tell that wine can be paired with fruit and cheese. Because I’m a classy lady I would have no trouble substituting traditional cheese for some White Cheddar Cheez-its:

Riddle the Second: Broom
Do you know how dusty White Cheddar Cheez-its are? Of course I need a broom to keep my side of the dormitory clean!

Riddle the Third: Hat
What “classy lady” wouldn’t want a miniature top hat headband fascinator? I just hope its not too distracting to the other students…

Riddle the Fourth: Book
I chose a muggle book of fiction I’ve wanted to read for a while now, The Windup Girl, by Paolo Bacigalupi. I’ll give you a prize if you can say “Bacigalupi” three times fast…

Riddle the Fifth: Trunk
Cards Against Humanity would be stowed away in my trunk. What better way to learn about all my new housemates after sorting is complete?

For Bonus Points: Cape
I need variety! Why wear the same boring old cape day after day if I don’t have to? With Dancing Colors Scarves I could have a different colored cape, or a cape of many colors, anytime I pleased!

>There are no red and black vacuums at Target, no gender-neutral cooking equipment, nothing. It's all pink.
Now you're just making shit up. Please educate yourself before going off on a wild tangent about things that just aren't true. It may not be at Target but they most certainly do exist.
Just this past xmas, I bought a little tykes kitchen set that was only available in one colour scheme - black/red/grey/white (they have a different model that comes in blue and tan), so I think you're making a few wild and dangerous assumptions here. Yes there are entire aisles of pink in those stores but gender-neutral coloured toys also exist almost everywhere.
>Shrugging it off as OK because there's "clearly" a market for it and that's how capitalism works withholds fault from anyone
Why does there have to be "fault" with everything? Who are you looking to "blame" and what exactly are you blaming them for? It sounds like you're trying really hard to be upset about this, and it turns out you shouldn't be upset at all, because you're wrong about almost everything you said.
On a related note, I grew up playing with a dollhouse and dressing up.
My nephews now play with the same 30 year old wooden dollhouse. The four year old got a cooking set for christmas, the two year old got a play cleaning set (their dad does all the cleaning). Still the older one once told me he didn't like 'boy colors' and I had to tell them there was no such thing. Sucks that parents can encourage boys to play with what they want and still get gender norm pressure.
