My E92 w/ sport suspension hits the ramps while driving towards them, so I have to drive onto 2" wood planks first. Even then, as soon as my tires hit the ramps they start pushing them away. It was very sketchy driving on to these. I would perhaps instead get the longer race ramps.

Ultimately though, I went with a QuickJack. It has made working on my BMW not so much of a chore anymore.

The minivan is a Honda Odyssey. These are the ramps: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NB1NJHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_l3buDbVS326Q1

I have a plan to make everything else besides the seats removable already, there probably won't be anything permanently installed besides a small corner sink. I currently camp in my pickup, for the bed I use Plus Nuts in the walls of the bed to install brackets + center beams from an Ikea bed. The beams lift out and collapse down when not in use. On top of that goes a folding RV ramp for the bed platform. I can deploy the whole thing in just a few minutes and it fits my MegaMat Duo.

My whole kitchen packs down into this, which also serves as the table to put the camp stove on. It could be used in the bus but would more likely go outside under an awning.

Shower's gonna be a removable curtain around the handicap ramp, power can come from a battery based generator that lasts a few days and recharges from shore power (maybe solar someday).

So, I have some ideas for most everything besides the seats. Space isn't really a premium as we aren't living in it, it will most often replace a hotel 1 or 2 nights, be used for camping, or be the basis of a killer tailgating setup at paintball games for my friends.

-Put the car on jackstands (You're going to be working on it anyway, right?)

-Roll the car forward (or back) a bit every so often, so they don't sit on the same spot.

-There's products you can buy to prevent (they claim).

I have a set of RhinoRamps from like, I dunno, 2000? They are totally legit still, but also of a different design (flat, solid top surface). Indeed the reviews of these new ramps aren't that great.

For a Mustang with a low front (measure it to be sure) you might want to up the investment a bit and get some race-style ramps. Or take the risk and use some 3' 2x4"s to decrease the elevation ratio of the ramps.

disclaimer: I have not used these Race Ramps.

edit: looks like Race Ramps sells an extension piece too:

I use these. Great for most under car work.

Not entirely sure how long it will take.. But if you rotate the tires weekly to keep the same spot from being in contact with the ground, you should be OK.

I don't think carpets or wood would help. These things apparently do: http://www.amazon.ca/Race-Ramps-RR-FS-Flatstopper-Pack/dp/B003ZAGJAM but I've never tried them. My bandit has a center stand. So I just use that.

I'm in Canada and we can't ride from December to March. My bike goes into my father in law's shed for the winter.

There are quite a few Speed Triples for sale here. Prices aren't that half bad. Probably not until 2016.. sigh

Buy this and cut a 2x6 to length

I use these. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZA8WIE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Worked wonderfully for everything I've ever had to use it for (oil changes, exhaust swap, transmission fluid change) and have had zero issues. No matter what surface it's on, be it a driveway or garage floor, it's never once even started to slip. It does clip the front bumper ever so slightly when you start to go up it, but I've found that putting in a little more air in the tires helped with that.

Not sure if your car is lowered or not, but mine is stock height.

I've got a set of these and I trust them far more than the injection plastic rhino ramps. We've been using these for years for everything from small sports cars to large SUVs with no deformation.

u/AWES0M-0 · 1 pointr/S2000

What's better about them than something like this?

u/ufoh · 1 pointr/cars

Low profile jack and these ramps.

u/suryamp · 0 pointsr/S2000

Honestly, you should get some ramps.
