FYI, this is available on most sites for this price. Same thing on Amazon for $50 too.

Yes, the rumble triggers (oh, sorry, "Impulse Triggers") are amazing. It's not just ABS, it's the whole acceleration and driving experience in many games including Forza and F1 2017/2018. You can feel it in the trigger when you lose traction and you can ease off the gas in tune with the vibration. It's also not simply off/on - it has sensitivity to it and it's on a different motor than the rest of the controller.

Gears of War, Tomb Raider, and a bunch of other games also support the rumble triggers. Gears is especially cool because you get the "kick" of the guns when you shoot, and this is felt in the trigger. The chainsaw in that game vibrates slowly and then ramps up when you hit something with it.

I stuck with my X360 controller for years and years, and then a friend convinced me to get the XB1 controller. I used it for a couple of hours and was so impressed I literally gifted all my friends XB1 controllers for Christmas. It's that good. It's like when you finally bought a gaming mouse instead of a generic one. The controller itself feels great as well, much more precise, buttons are tighter feeling, and the finish on it is better than the slippery X360 controller.

This is the model I got from Amazon with the cable. I play with the cable plugged in (just a standard micro USB), not with Bluetooth, although it'll support both.

u/helmutlampshade · 4 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

For me it was still available from Amazon at that price from the list of all sellers. Ships in 1-2 months tho.

u/Ancillas · 3 pointsr/buildapc

This is partially incorrect. There are actually three variants.

  1. USB connection. Any Xbox One controller with a micro-usb cable that can handle data and power will work.

  2. Xbox Wireless. This requires a special dongle unless it's built in to your PC (only on some Microsoft Surface devices). The dongle costs extra unless you buy a controller/dongle kit.

  3. Bluetooth. This is standard bluetooth that will work with a regular old bluetooth radio in your PC. Only specific Xbox One controllers have bluetooth support.

Here's the official page describing these.

  1. The Xbox One S controller has Bluetooth support for wireless connections to any PC. I easily use the Xbox Design Lab controller with my PC and Xbox One wirelessly.

  2. Here you go. This will come with a rechargeable battery so you don't need to use AA batteries.

  3. It will charge from the PC. You can even remove the batteries to have it act as a wired controller.

  4. Around 40 hours or so.

  5. Only through third parties but as I said in 3 you can de facto wire it.
u/DonMakafi · 3 pointsr/RandomKindness

I know that there is people here with request much more important than mine, but I'll take my chance. My controller broke days ago and I don't have the money to buy it again, so this would be the best gift for me right now

Looking at the shoulder buttons in the link, it looks like version one. But mine is like the shoulder buttons on This . So I would say version 2 since the second link is the newer version you get directed too on Amazons site.

Did you install the drivers for your controller? If you did and its still not working, get a wired Microsoft Xbox 360 controller or wired Microsoft Xbox 1 controller. You can see it's much cheaper to get the wired 360 controller. If you absolutely want a wireless controller, you could get either the wireless Xbox 360 controller and the Windows Xbox 360 adapter or wireless Xbox 1 controller with Windows adapter (old version) or wireless Xbox 1 controller with Windows adapter (new version). Since they're made by Microsoft, they work fine with Windows. Logitech also makes a few good controllers, the wired Logitech Gamepad F310 and the wireless Logitech Gamepad F710. I personally have a wired Microsoft 360 controller and a wireless Logitech F710 and from my experience, the official Microsoft controllers work best with games. I hope that helps.

u/Homer__Pimpson · 2 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

EDIT: Do not buy the wired controller! It is an old version of the Xbox one controller that has a lot of issues as well as a bad build quality. The wireless controller will work with any micro USB cable.

Does this come with a cable to connect to PC, or would this wired one for the same price be the one I'd want to get?

Would this also be better than an Xbox 360 controller for PC? I noticed some poor reviews on that amazon page for the wired Xbox One controller.

u/Frank2312 · 1 pointr/AndroidTV

Can this XBox One controller be connected to Android TV via Bluetooth?

And does it work correctly (button mappings) with Steam Link?

u/FLTodd · 1 pointr/TeslaLounge

This is the one I use and it works perfectly.

Xbox One Controller w/cable

u/Waerok · 1 pointr/dragonquest

Lol. I recommend you get an Xbox Controller. I got this one: r/https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LPNKGGI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has a cable included but you can use it wireless as well (Bluetooth). If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth you can get a Bluetooth USb dongle for like $10 or cheaper I believe.

u/MyLegsHurt · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

Fwiw, I got this one a month or so ago and absolutely love it. Granted, I was coming from a 360, not a One controller, but it's really solid and the textured grips are amazing. It feels super solid overall, construction-wise.

u/Boolet1794 · 1 pointr/unrealengine

Hm. I'm using this controller. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LPNKGGI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's brand-new, about a month old. I bought two and after reading your comment, tested the other. Both have the same result. I also have 4 steam controllers, but as they are not Xinput devices, they can't get granular input in UE4.

I would like to use this xbox one controller on my pc.

Would anyone know if I could leave the batteries out and just leave it plugged in as if it were wired and if yes, would the 3.5mm audio port still work?

Asking because someone told me that if it isn't connected via bluetooth then the audio port is disabled.

Edit: that person was full of shit and everything works great without any batteries. Including headphone jack.

So [This] (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Controller-Cable-for-Windows/dp/B01LPNKGGI/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1496753268&sr=1-2&keywords=xbox+one+wired+controller&refinements=p_72%3A1248885011) is just a controller and a standard micro-usb to charge it? Can I just use my micro-usb cord for charging my phone for it? Also, to use the wireless capabilities I have to shill out an additional $25 to buy a wireless dongle?

u/BreakDansen · 1 pointr/EmulationOnAndroid

I built mine using a RPi3 Canakit.

In an "Old Skool" NES style case.

You'll need a micro SD card for the RetroPi and a flashdrive to install games. I used this guide to set it up. (https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/First-Installation)

Using this power button kit, installed the button on the back of the case using a drill to punch the hole and a Dremel to widen it, the space was too tight for me to turn the nut so I held the nut in place and turned the button on the outside. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0170AJ98G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_rKnnzbQWBJ5RJ)

Using instructions from, you must enable SSH in the RetroPi settings before starting. (https://youtu.be/4nTuzIY0i3k)

I recommend the NES30 for solo play up to N64, Note: Do not buy two of these controllers they do not work if two are connected to a RPi3.

For Player 2 and any future N64 play I'm using a standard XBox One Controller with a cable.

Noooooo! I've been looking for a controller for my PC.
Even an old wired 360 should work right? but cant find them anywhere

edit: this seems to be a cheap alternative https://www.amazon.ca/Microsoft-Wired-Controller-Linux-4N6-00001/dp/B01LPNKGGI/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Microsoft+XBOX+One+Wired+Controller+for+PC%2FMac%2FLinux+%284N6-00001%29&qid=1553742826&s=gateway&sr=8-1

It does not. There is a separate one that sells the controller + official usb for $42.84 on Amazon but otherwise, it would just be the controller itself.

u/DarkStarFTW · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

From what I've seen, there's poor QC on the Amazon Basics one.

I'd recommend the 4N6-00001 controller, which is currently $55 on Amazon and has gone as low as $40. It has the textured grip, can be used wirelessly via Bluetooth, and can also be used wired with the included cable.

u/BradBramish · 1 pointr/buildapc

There's not a substantial difference. The xbox one controller has better ergonomics, a flush battery compartment, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The biggest difference is how you connect to your PC: bluetooth, wireless adapter, or USB cable.

Just get 42$ xbox 1 controller,https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-4N6-00001-Controller-Cable-Windows/dp/B01LPNKGGI it works on everything, controllers are like keyboards, they last you years so its more like 5-10$ a year for 4-8 years.

Why do you not want wireless?

Can you link me the controller you purchased?
