Depends on your budget really, should check out GearBest as it tends to be cheaper then amazon when buying android boxes(http://www.gearbest.com/).

If you want a high end box($200) that runs flawless then I would get a Nvidia Shield

If you have a lower budget(under $60) and want it to run good I would get a M8S PRO TV. If you buy this I would change the launcher to something you like as default launcher kinda sucks and uninstall all the apps you won't use.

Not really a deal, just finally back down to the usual price. Also, the 500 GB varient is back down to $299 as well.

You don't mention it in your post, but the other big deal with the shield is its quite future proof nature for home theater enthusiasts that have local media to playback. It has:

  • 4K Playback
  • HEVC Hardware decoding
  • MPEG2, VC-1, and WMV9 hardware-acceleration
  • M2TS, ASF, and WMV container support for VC-1
  • WMA audio support (including WMA Pro, and WMA Lossless
  • HD audio passthrough (DTS-HD and TrueHD)
  • CEC Volume Control
  • X1 Chip (truly incredible piece of hardware)
  • Audio jack on the remote

Make sure you get the bundle! The $50 remote comes with the shield right now

I'm using a Nvidia Shield TV in the Gold Coast. Excellent system if not a bit expensive. If you are looking to use 4k videos and Netflix 4k then buy this beast. If you also happen to own a recent Nvidia powered graphics card then buy it as soon as you can. I got a GTX950 a few weeks ago for $220 and I am amazed at how well this system runs all the games from my pc. I've only used Nexus player and Fire TV 1 so I can't comment on any other 4k enabled box. But for what you get it is well worth the money. Approx $300 aus delivered.

Amazon is also and option at the same $199 price and this includes free shipping but if you're like me Amazon will charge tax because they have a local warehouse.

I think around or before Xmas time it came with a remote, I don't see anyone selling it for $200 with both the controller and the remote.

I had a whole big thing written up for you but I accidentally closed the tab T_T. I don't know anything about the G Box, sorry, but I do know about a few other devices.

I would recommend the Nvidia Shield if you can afford it. Normally $199.99, it's on sale for Cyber Monday for $149.99 with a free $49.99 remote you can sell on eBay to offset costs if you want. Easily the fastest product for Kodi, as well as a gaming rig, Netflix/Hulu/etc. player.

Next is the Fire TV, on sale right now on Amazon for $74.99. Ignore the rating on Amazon as the initially release didn't support 5.1, Amazon pushed out a patch to fix that. Learn how to sideload with a 5 min videos, push Kodi onto their, install firestarter and you're set to go. I use the first generation, a lot snappier than the Fire Stick.

The amazon Fire stick is $24.99 right now at Best Buy, not the snappiest device, but good for just putting on a movie, netflix, Hulu etc and just watching without too much switching in a out, as it doesn't run as smoothly as the other two. Still a great alternative if you don't want to spend too much and do a test run on Kodi and get a feel.

Here's the links to the devices on sale right now

[Newegg, Nvidia Shield (Not sure if remote comes) $149.99 no tax for more]

Amazon Nvidia Shield, $149.99 w/ Remote

Amazon Fire TV Box, $74.99

Best Buy Amazon Fire TV Stick $24.99

Alternatively if you want these a fire TV today, staples and best buy both have them for $74.99 and you can pick it up, try it out for a couple days and return if you don't like them.

Also I hope you're in the US or this was a waste of time lol.

If you're open to spending a bit more (and ordering it from Amazon), NVidia Shield TV.

Fancy Android TV box (and actual Android TV, not just regular Android in something resembling tablet mode that's been shoehorned into TV functionality), fast (really, really fast) CPU, 4K support, and you can load Kodi from the Play Store if you so desire. Has a nice, Xbox-esque controller for gaming (streaming from a PC, and built-in games), optional remote (with a microphone you can do voice searches with), Chromecast support, etc etc etc.

But yeah, that pricetag. If you're in the market for a new TV anyway, Sony will sell you one with the Android TV functionality built in, which might soften the blow a bit.
