also 230 at amazon for those who don't get taxed there

Also, it looks like the SanDisk 1TB Ultra 3D NAND SATA III SSD is down to $250, about $30 lower than what it's usually at.

They're all over Amazon.

Samsung 860 EVO 1TB - $168

Crucial MX500 1TB - $160

WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB - $150

SanDisk 1TB Ultra - $160

> 2 Million hours MTBF

This is a completely meaningless marketing figure. The only thing that matters is TBW. The Intel S3500 800GB which you linked has a TBW rating of 480 TBW while the Samsung 860 Pro is rated for up to 4,800 TBW, literally 10 times the endurance.

You can get a brand new 1TB Sandisk SSD rated for 400 TBW for under $150. The S3500 is not a good deal anymore. The S3700 can still be a good deal, depending on the seller.

While I agree that Enterprise grade SSDs can be good value, please do not compare the endurance on a several year old SSD to a modern Samsung 860 Pro. The Samsung 860 Pro is Samsung's endurance offering, and it delivers.

Link to the Sandisk ssd. Cheapest evo is still at 289usd. This one is 229usd.

Why that mobo and liquid cooler? Do you plan to do ultra hardcore overclocking? Why the 1000 w PSU? Also why the old generation ryzen cpu when the 2600 is a mere 15 bucks more expensive for a notable performance increase?

Here is what I would do:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Type|Item|Price

Edit. Fucking PCpartpicker didn't save my manually edited ssd price.

The Ryzen 2600 is the best price performance cpu on the market right now. It's only $15 more then the cpu you have and notably better. If you want hardcore overclocking this is also a good choice because you can overclock it higher then the 2600x.

No cooler cause the stock Ryzen is good enough. If you want hardcore overclocking you can add a fan.

This is considered the best b-450 MOBO on the market right now. It will allow for a decent overclock and is perfectly suited for most users.

Since we have the budget we go with Team Dark DDR4-3200 Ram. This Ram uses samsung b-die chips which work best with ryzen. You'll want to overclock this ram and change the timings to 12 or 13 to get the most out of it.

This ssd is actually 149.49 on amazon right now, the price just doesn't show up on pcpartpicker. So for 27 more then your overpriced ssd we get double the size. You can honestly get a equivalent ssd (or this or this) to the 500gb rip off you have for 30-40 bucks less.

The PSU you had was insane overkill, I went with a high end seasonic focus gold. 650 watts will pretty much power everything you need.

I had gotten fed up with the load times on my OneX. Decided to purchase this SanDisk SSD, and this USB 3.0 enclosure. Just put SSD inside the enclosure, then when you plug it into the Xbox it'll ask you to format the drive for games. I moved SoT over and have loved the amazing load times.

This'll be my next one I guess, if I don't return the plus.

Thanks for the knowledge

The thing is they keep dropping in price all the time. Just got me this.

Unless you plan on uninstalling and reinstalling games over and over, 240/256GB SSDs are going to be more trouble than it's worth.

There's a lightning deal on a SanDisk 1TB SATA SSD for $101 right now on Amazon. Unfortunately, it ends in 3 hours so you'd have to act fast.

If you prefer to wait and think about it, Inland makes a 1TB SSD that's available on MicroCenter's webstore for $95. I've used Inland SSDs in the past and they're great.

u/GhostBond · 1 pointr/buildapc

At the moment you can buy a 1tb sandisk ssd for $102:
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-NAND-SATA-SDSSDH3-1T00-G25/dp/B071KGRXRG/

If you only need 1tb it only costs $10 more and game loading will be a ton faster.

I want to buy an SSD for my new build. How does this

SanDisk Ultra 3D NAND 1TB Internal SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s, 2.5"/7mm, Up to 560 MB/s - SDSSDH3-1T00-G25

compare to this?

XPG SX6000 Pro 1TB PCIe 3D NAND PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 NVMe 1.3 R/W up to 2100/1500MB/s SSD (ASX6000PNP-1TT-C)

Do you think that there could be better BF deals? Thank you for your answers in advance.

PS: if the Sandisk is better, I also consider getting the 2TB version of it for $180.

u/saltyman420 · 1 pointr/buildapc

You are right. This is the consensus I have come to from posting on other forums as well.

My current plan is to move up to 16GB of ram and get a bigger SSD currently. I was looking at this SSD

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071KGRXRG?tag=georiot-us-default-20&th=1&psc=1&ascsubtag=trd-3323312105021231372-20

Thoughts on this? I am also trying to figure out what should be done once I get this new SSD. Should I transfer all of the contents from my 250GB HDD (which my OS system is on) to my new SSD and then just throw that 250GB one away? And then I keep my 120gb SSD and 1TB hard drive as those are bigger and better?

You think if I get more ram and a bigger SSD my boot times will be faster and all my applications (such as Ableton) will load much faster?

I will opt for the RAM and SSD first but what would you say would be the next thing I should possibly look at? Many other people have told me its my processor and that I should look into AMD. Or what about my graphics card? is that alright? given that it's only 6GB?

EDIT: Was looking at getting this ram as well

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019X5RN84?tag=georiot-us-default-20&th=1&ascsubtag=trd-1428860949876551053-20

Should I just get rid of my 8GB ram card and get 2x8GB cards or just get one 8GB card to round it out to 16GB? My RAM is DDR3 while this one is DDR4. Is there any big difference I should be worried about? In my system information for my motherboard it just says System Model: All Series and it's ASUS so I assume this card would work just fine going into my motherboard?

u/Akafire · 1 pointr/DestinyTechSupport

Yeh its a bummer, I would still look into getting a bigger SSD for storage vs the Toshiba drive though, Toshiba are known to not have the greatest performance, and the fact that you can find good name brand ssds far cheaper now is a plus. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-NAND-250GB-Internal/dp/B071KGRXRG/ref=pd_di_sccai_4/146-3761874-3824349?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B071KGRXRH&pd_rd_r=356ebee7-3059-4247-8179-d179f98020cc&pd_rd_w=LnfNP&pd_rd_wg=NBjYe&pf_rd_p=91969358-e80f-4d1e-9cd9-073577930a16&pf_rd_r=2C1Z1TRD661VCH8BDXY0&refRID=2C1Z1TRD661VCH8BDXY0&th=1

The 1T version of this drive is barely 100$ and I'm sure you could find others within the same price range if you preferred a different brand.

If I had the money I would buy this now as I need to upgrade my boot drive...

Cheap, good quality, good manufacturer, 3d nand is potent, long warranty..

SanDisk Ultra 3D SSD 1TB up to 560MB/s Read / up to 530MB/s Write https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071KGRXRG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_T3ADCbNWZY32A

Then get for storage and or other games programs...

Seagate FireCuda 1 TB 3.5 Inch Internal SSHD Hard Drive (64 MB Cache SATA 6 GB/s Up to 210 MB/s) - Silver https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01ICLGJ8U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_95ADCb79MX0SC

Or to keep price down buy 2 of the hybrid as one boot, one data..

😉

An SSD is a Solid choice for something like that, it uses less battery, survives shocks better, and is faster. Samsung's 1tb drive is reliable and at an all-time low price. It would be awesome replacement for a HDD.

Edit: you don't want to skimp out too much on an SSD. So stick with a reputable name.

The best option would be a 1TB SSD. The change is pretty easy and the loading times are significantly better. Wait for Cyber Monday on Amazon for good offers. But search for SSD compatibility (Google) just to be sure.

EDIT: I got this one: SanDisk Ultra 3D SSD 1 TB, lesen mit bis zu 560 MB/Sek., schreiben mit bis zu 530 MB/Sek. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B071KGRXRG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0M.6BbVB8G7T1

u/ender89 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I like m.2, but you're not really going to notice the performance difference between an m.2 and an SSD. I'd suggest dropping it and buying a larger sata ssd. This one from Amazon has a whole terabyte for an extra $60. If you can't swing that, drop the aio cooler for now and use the stock and cooler for a bit. Amd's stock cooler is actually fairly decent and low profile so it should fit in your mini itx case no problem, and you can buy an aio cooler later on.

u/thexawakening · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

Yeah that's pretty much it. Just make sure it's USB 3.0.

For reference I bought this SSD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071KGRXRG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

And put it into this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWRRMYX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Note: You can just get an external SSD and be good. I only went the route I did cause it was cheap for a lot of storage. Still works like a champ.
