It sounds like his brain is mapped differently than yours. I think this is something to talk about with him in a non-confrontational way, as he isn't going to change that dipswitch in his brain that enjoys that aspect of regression and being around others who do the same.

I would keep the conversation focussed around: "I enjoy our relationship, and I want to make this work - but it's clear we need to define some boundaries around when it's okay to engage in this and when it isn't. Can we agree that during eating times is off limits, and that if I am not in a mental space where I can deal with the smell that I can politely ask you to go elsewhere? It's not my intention to make you feel shame for what you enjoy, but we just are not on the same level of enjoyment on this."

Also, maybe get him some Devrom to help his mess stink less (https://www.amazon.com/Devrom-Capsules-Bottle-of-100/dp/B000O08G2U/ref=pd_sim_194_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=21CgswTtHBL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=M9A5RJVA9VBWCEQNT8HF).

Hi! Chiming in.

I take ondansetron in the really bad times, I had a lot prescribed to me. I otherwise take the Tums chewable and Alka Seltzer heartburn relief chewable and it works like magic. I have a hatial hernia too from all the strain I had with an obstruction- so I frequently get nausea and stomach upset/vomity.

Chewy Tums

Alka Seltzer Heartburn Relief

I also try to drink a glass of water before bed as dehydration can be one of the leading contributors to nausea. Also- it sounds weird but just smelling mint oil gives a small amount of relief.

And my last thought is- don’t eat dinner too late at night, as sometimes if your stomach empties weird it just sits there and wants to betray you by morning.

u/CaptainKate757 · 3 pointsr/GifRecipes

I'm not sure if you've tried this before, but it might be helpful to anyone reading. I take a bunch of daily medications for migraines and they give me severe heartburn, and the only thing that's ever worked has been:

8oz water

3tbsp apple cider vinegar

4tbsp honey

The heartburn my medication gives me can cause me to vomit, that's how bad it can get. I really recommend this tip to anyone who hasn't found an OTC remedy yet. It doesn't taste as bad as you'd think.

Also, if your heartburn is caused by food, my doctor recommended this acid reducer to take before meals that might help.

u/Kooshboo · 3 pointsr/Interstitialcystitis

Prelief was very helpful to me while trying to get my symptoms under control during and after diagnosis. I would take it right before eating, and I do mean right before...it will upset your stomach and make you vomit if you don't eat within about 15 minutes of taking it... I also use Azo standard Maximum strength for the burning sensations. I provided the Amazon links here...but you can usually find these in grocery stores and pharmacies in the US.

u/blithetorrent · 2 pointsr/GERD

No, those are not correct. That's the American version, which are better than any other American antacid, but not as good as the UK stuff. Here's a link:

Other people are recommending the Gaviscon Advance Aniseed liquid, which is great stuff but way too much $$ for me since I use a lot

Was Briosche the kind in the big blue bottle, with white cap and red letters?

My Grandma ALWAYS had a bottle of that growing up. I was the only kid I knew who had any clue what it was.

I showed some to my wife once, and she had no idea. Basically Italian Alka-Seltzer.

Edit:

Found the original Brioschi!

Hugs!

Now I have that song stuck in my head. I love that song.

We've had financial problems lately and can't afford some things we need. I need this acid reducer because it would help with pain, or cat litter because we have 3 cats, or anything else from my wishlists. Or a giftcard that I can use toward food. If I order food myself, I can get the 15% Subscribe and Save discount, plus use any digital coupons.

Thanks for your contest :)

Forget about your worries and your strifes

$8.87 on Amazon.com - but $35.74 on Amazon.ca??? What? Dang you Americans and your magic pills.

u/Id1otbox · 2 pointsr/ketogains

Are you making a conscious effort to increase sodium? I drink salt water when I lift and I feel weaker without it. I dissolve one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0091T8UFS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_T2faBbKYM65HK in my workout bottle. Give it a try. You also may need to keto adapt more. It may just take a little while for your lifting to get into a groove. Every ketogainer squats no problem, you can get there too. It's not the diet or "glycogen". You have plenty of glycogen.

u/Lsomethingsomething · 2 pointsr/transvoice

Hmm, have you tried taking salt pills in addition to drinking more water?

u/MonodonMonoceros_MD · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

I have a strange thought - it reminds me of these Italian antacid flakes...

You can buy Gaviscon Advance (UK version) at Amazon from various sellers, both the liquid and tablet form. It seems to vary in price quite a bit over time--if you wait you can often get a pretty reasonable price. A couple of items I've ordered in the past:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QEPFKS

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012YJMALG

Also it is possible to order ingredients and make your own Gaviscon Advance very, very easily at a very low cost. Some instructions:

Here are the raw ingredients I ordered from Amazon to do that:

This is so frustrating, this vicious cycle. It is really important to be take the prilosec every day if you suspect an ulcer. I've developed ulcers twice on NSAIDs, they didn't become bad, but each time my rheumatologist had me come off of the NSAID and take omeprazole twice a day for two weeks straight until the pain improved, and slowly add the NSAID back in.

I am the same way with NSAIDs. Your back will hurt, but your back won't kill you, the bleeding ulcers can. I know what you might say, but have you tried extra strength tylenol? You can try that in replacement while you try and get the stomach thing under control.

I found these on amazon.

If you can't afford it please PM me.

> So now it is GlaxoSmithKline and Wyeth not Reckitt Benckiser Group - we might want to stop there as all that is happening is you are providing pointers towards all of the companies implicated in the price over cost inflation. one of the key parts of your link is this:

  1. You brought up Gaviscon claiming it was fined for charging 100X the going rate because that is what America pays then you claimed they were selling it at a lose. Which one 100,00% profit or a lose?
  2. I responded saying that it was about keeping the NHS from creating a generic drug. I also showed that the cost was $0.30 each from Amazon for Advanced version which cost 2X the original.
  3. You then claimed it was Reckitt Benckiser subsidiary Wyeth. Then mentioning buying it in bulk.
  4. Then I showed that Wyeth is not a subsidiary of Reckitt Benckiser. Wyeth drug was Zoton and the case involved them paying a third party or practice staff to switch patients to new formulation of Zoton. Even provided the link to a US government web site.
  5. Then you state "So now it is GlaxoSmithKline and Wyeth" which it never was you just kept switching things around that did not go together. Then you brought up "companies implicated in the price over cost inflation." What does that have to do with these 2 companies? They commited bribery, not cost over inflation. Reckitt Benckiser breached competition laws, not over charging or under charing which ever it is.

Below are the direct quotes both of us gave. Yours are all over the place. You first claim it was sold at 100X the going rate then it was sold below market value. You claim Wyeth is a subsidiary when it is part of Pfizer. Then you claim cost over inflation when those companies committed bribery. Come back when you figure out which company and which drug you want to use. You are all over the place except in the correct lane.

    > The hundred time the cost: is based on the litigation between the NHS and the manufacturers of Gaviscon who had, shockingly, marked up the price of the treatment by one hundred times because that was what Americans would pay over the counter. As a consequence they are providing it at a loss to the NHS.
    >
    > $0.30 a tablet is the highest cost I could find. Generic $0.04 each pill. This happened 8 years ago and Reckitt Benckiser Group is a UK company. The issue was that they pulled to standard medication because the patent was ending and force Gaviscon Advanced on the NHS whose patent was still in effect. This kept the NHS for developing a generic version.
    >
    > The Gaviscon fiasco: that was not some over the counter transaction. The NHS was buying in bulk and not from Reckitt Benckiser but their subsidiary Wyeth. Which is not based in Slough.
    >
    > GlaxoSmithKline and Wyeth were forced to abandon schemes for paying a third party or practice staff to switch patients to new formulations of salmeterol (Serevent) and lansoprazole (Zoton)

It’s an antacid. But better and cheaper than alka-seltzer’s. It’s basically Sal de Uvas which basically translates to “grape salts”. You can buy them for like 2 bucks at Walgreens or CVS.

Here’s the link from amazon;

4 X Sal De Uvas Picot Effervescent Anti Acid Heartburn Upset Stomach Relief 48 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IABFO4I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_lkCqDb1GF70BM

Rofl, salt tabs would be a much better deal.

Better to drink some chicken bouillon.

Or suck on a coarse-sized Himalayan pink salt crystal.

There are products that can cut the acidity of coffee; maybe something like this?

u/shrankthetank · 1 pointr/Coffee
u/tattooedBetty · 1 pointr/NoStupidQuestions

sorry took so long to reply, I was out of town. You can get Tagamet (or any of the generic Cimetidine) at a drugstore over the counter or even online from Amazon. As a vegetarian, there are many vegetables that can cause the symptoms you describe - potatoes does that to me, as do sweet potatoes. Every time you feel the symptoms, make a list of EVERYTHING you ate for the past 24-48 hours (some foods take longer to affect you). You may find a pattern. Good luck!

u/otek024 · 1 pointr/keto

I add 1/2 to 3/4 tsp salt to my scrambled eggs along with a 1/4 tsp of No Salt. Hot sauce like Frank’s also has a decent amount if you like that. That gives a good bump at the start of the day and I usually end at about 5000 mg. I also keep some sodium chloride tablets on hand if I am eating foods that I don’t really want to add salt to or if I’m fasting.

u/justlurkingaround1 · 1 pointr/ChronicPain

Prelief is an OTC antacid. For whatever reason, it seems to help a lot of people. The top review on Amazon is by someone who uses it for GERD, actually.

And no, I'm not trying to sell it or something. :) Just thought it might help you.

u/Whipet · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

Have you tried any meds? Uribel works really well to minimize my pain, but some people have insurance problems with it. And I take Prelief when I "cheat" on my diet. It's a supplement but was strongly recommended by my urologist, and I've had good luck with it.

Also, if you eventually want to try coffee again... It's way less acidic if you cold brew it. You can heat it up after if you want. :)

u/thepatchouligirl · 0 pointsr/Coffee

You could try Prelief

It neutralizes acid - take 2-3 with first sips of coffee, works with acidic foods too
