Well, I don't know what the brand was, because all the text was in Japanese (which made it even more fun to play with, because every button I pushed was a surprise!) - but I've found some pics on Amazon to give you a sense of the thing.

Imagine a toilet like this

And on the wall beside you there's a control interface like this.

I can't even tell you how enjoyable that potty was.

My favorite setting was a cool seat with a soft, warm mist from tip to taint, and an oscillating jet pulse of slightly warmer water right on the butthole.

Then, you get dried off with a hot blast of scented air.

I don't remember what the venue was, who all the people were at the party, or even what music or food we had - but I distinctly remember that wonderful magic John.

ETA: Also I had the sound set on this ~30 second loop that sounded like a waterfall in the jungle.

The lights were nice and dim and the stall door was wood, and went all the way from cieling to floor with a very sturdy lock that made an affirmative ka-chunk sound.

The floor was clean and there was a coat rack right there in the stall.

The walls were slate-tiled and there was no lingering smell from previous poopers.

It was incredible.

Wow - excellent calls. You know your shit(ters).

I think the only question at this point is: do they come in pink?

This is your typical jailhouse-issue toilet/sink combo fixture. This and this are very presentable, although not inexpensive. Stainless urinals are fairly common. Combined with subway tile, I can't imagine longer lasting fixtures that are easier to keep clean. I opened a new beach bar in VA a few years back. They used all stainless fixtures in their restrooms. It looked more "commercial" than "prisony". If kept clean, I never heard a complaint from the women, with the exception of the occasional, "that toilet seat was cold."

I don't believe you have any way of meeting code requirements for a bathroom of the size you proposed.

Even though local code can vary, here's the guidlines locally for me:

> A minimum space of at least 21 inches must be planned in front of lavatory, toilet, bidet, and tub.

I don't see how you will comply with this in a 36"x36" room. I would be surprised if your local or state code didn't have this type of minimum specified, and beyond that don't think you'd find much resale value in such a tiny room (especially, if unpermitted, since not only would it be hardly appealing, but would have to be brought into compliance to sell the home).

If you do try to go for it, there are Toilet/sink combos that are both super compact, and are water efficient, since most models use grey water from handwashing to flush the toilet.

EDIT-

Thought that I'd also add that a macerator toilet can make it a lot easier to add plumbing for a toilet and sink in areas that are otherwise a challenge to plumb (due to the large size typically needed for the mess stack servicing a toilet/bathroom) due to wall cavity constraints. I still wouldn't recommend having just a 3'x3' bathroom though.

12" is probably a bit tight for a toilet to fit. Try looking at tankless round bowl toilets for your best bet. This is the closest I found with a quick search, and it's at ~18" from the wall.

Installing a toilet for the first time and I ran into a problem. I turned off the water valve but I seem to have broken it because it keeps turning and turning. I can't turn it back on either. What do I need to buy to fix this? The toilet is very old so I'm going to order one from online. Is there anything else I need to buy other than the toilet? Will the toilet come with everything I need? Thanks!

I am going to buy this toilet: https://www.amazon.com/American-Standard-288DA114-020-H2Optimum-White2-Piece/dp/B01BWMOH0S/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1492101230&sr=8-7&keywords=toilet

It's great actually we both have our own routines that put us outside of the truck so we only use it for like peeing in morning and before bed. They have a really nice one I'd recommend that I want when I go big like motor home a $1000 one it's the best . I change it about once a week for free and take it to a treatment plant and get flavored tst tabs online for the smell of the toilet

I got the Nature's Head with the spider handle, it was $960. If I'm remembering correctly the cabinet it's in is 2'X2'X2'.

u/fallingbrick · 1 pointr/oddlysatisfying

The unit he's using looks like this one. Portable composting toilets are quite sanitary and have no significant odor until it's time to empty them. They have a venting system and a small fan that pulls refreshes the air. When it's time to empty, the smell at that point is similar to rich soil.

He's not pooping in a bucket and swimming in the stench.

They'll fit fine in a 2x4 wall: http://assets.totousa.com/product-files/SS-00545_WT151M_WT152M.pdf I actually am surprised I don't see more people incorporate wall hung toilets in small spaces. They only cost about $500-$600 for the bowl and tank system: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0039O6WTM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1BKN001TNJPQ5&coliid=I30AWJP4P3KJP8

u/ArizonaLad · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

If you are willing to rework the plumbing, a wall mount could give you back the space you want:

WOW! That's incredibly good news. Incidentally we have Toto washlets on all our toilets. We've been buying them for 15 years and none has ever broken.

Do you have a favorite model? What do you think of this one, for example? http://www.amazon.com/MS854114ELG-01-Ultramax-Elongated-Sanagloss/dp/B00313JTN2/ref=sr_1_11?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1457844257&sr=1-11&keywords=toto+toilet

u/munkeyphyst · 0 pointsr/CrappyDesign

If your going fo get the one on the right, you might as well get the attached tank too, and avoid that urine holding seam.
