Amazon friend. Pre poured trays ready to use. Even with shipping they're under a buck a piece. For starting out its worth it can help to consolidate steps as it leaves less room for error. Then again some people nail first try.

I use polypropylene petri dishes that are plastic but also autoclavable. So I reuse them regularly and come out of the PC just fine. The only downside is they aren't as clear as glass, more translucent; it's enough to see growth going on just fine but I look at them in the SAB with the lid off to be certain about contamination. This is usually when I am ready to transfer so I would have the lid off anyways. I also hit them with UV light after pouring agar which may have added to the translucency. This is where I get mine:

You can also use small canning jars, I use Petri dishes but these would work, bought them at Wal-Mart:
Brand: Kerr
Description: Quilted Crystal Jell Jars (4oz)
Kerr Product #: 70610 00104
These are not as big but they come in packs of 5 and are Prime eligible, so free shipping!
I'm seeing packs of ten borosilicate dishes for $30 o.o
I've ordered glass dishes (not the ones linked) through Amazon before and half of the ones I received plus all of the replacements were shattered, so order with care.
You could also use makeshift dishes out of plastic food containers. I use a mixture of both because glass petri dishes aren't cheap, especially when you realise you need more than one pack.
Found these: https://www.amazon.com/Microyn-Glass-Petri-Tissue-Culture/dp/B01N9HET4W/ref=sr_1_1?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1511283639&sr=1-1&refinements=p_n_feature_seven_browse-bin%3A5485476011&dpID=41lEU9CFvFL&preST=_SX342_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
I would also look at MatTek products: https://www.mattek.com/store/
as they make a lot of live cell dishes. It looks like most have polystyrene bodys but they also mention on their site that they do special orders?
Would using a coverslip holster/chamber (not sure what to call it) work for your application? Like this: https://www.thermofisher.com/order/catalog/product/A7816

Or use this for no pour dishes. You just need to flip the lid, pour the agar, then PC

I bought these, and they work great. I can't fit all the pawns and non-disease cube counters in the one dish I have space for in the box, so they get chucked in. Haven't lost one yet. I don't have the expansion... yet.
Here they are in the box.
I just PC’d two dozen of these about an hour ago. Threw em all in a big pile with some jars around the sides.. they all came out just fine. 75 x 11mm Plastic Petri Dish - Polypropylene - Pack of 12 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077MQ7GQM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RVEyDb8TSFW1H

They’re big boys too, makes them good for inoculation a butt load of jars.
Could always just get them real petri dishes lol

I just ordered these and they worked like a charm! But do your reading before! (Honestly if you can handle a monotub you can handle agar) The plates will last a decent amount of time because they ship them vacuum sealed🤙🏼
Somebody mentioned it a previous post, these should work pretty well. The lids are vented too, so your soap can dry :)

You can get reusable plastic Petris on Amazon. I have bought a few 12 packs.

Could be crystallized oil spots could be mold.
If and that isabigif it was in front of me I'd be pretty damn sure,
But when I'm not, I remove all doubt.
Amazon is covered up w/petri dishes. Simple to use.
I just bought a beginner agar kit on amazon then a second stack of dishes, they aren't technically reusable even though I will try to until I can't. I may go with glass if I can get them for a decent price, I sort of didn't like the light plastic sticky sort of feel to these ones.
I looks like you can get Petri dishes, test tubes and beakers pretty cheap on Amazon. Bunsen burners are a little more expensive but not too bad.
I have no idea why they wouldn't have put an address though. Sorry, hope everything gets sorted for you.
I don't know the answer to your question, as I don't have this expansion. However, I purchased these dishes to use with my base game and regret not getting bigger ones. They are just barely big enough to hold all of the cubes of each color and even with some cubes on the board they're still too small to easily get your fingers into for more cubes. They also don't stay closed in the box what-so-ever. I have to rubber band them.
I don't think I've seen either the new OTB nor the conversion kit available for sale yet, just preorder. Where did you find it?
If you just want petri dishes, amazon has them for like $5 for a pack of 10. The expansion, however, is worth getting just for the extra challenges.
What a cool theme! I hope your daughter has a brilliant birthday party.
You could serve individual different flavours of jelly (jello in the US, right?!) is these petri dishes.
You could use these specimen bags as party bags! These touchable bubbles come in test tubes and are pretty fun!
These molecule model kits were always good fun in science at school - maybe you could incorporate this into a party game? Or else make a few molecules and have them as table decorations!
Thank you for this contest! If I win, surprise me! I hope the party planning goes well.
