Not only does it have the trans flag colors, but it's also TRANSlucent!

edit: Amazon link for those interested

Surprisingly, the QiYi Warrior W is less expensive than a Rubik's brand. It's my first speedcube, and even after only a few days it's served me well.

I did accidentally break it today while trying to put it back together (to be fair, I have no idea how) after a purposeful pop, so do keep that in mind

I've wanted to buy this one for a while. It looks pretty fun and could be quite tricky to solve. Mr Puzzle has a video demonstrating the solving process Spoiler (https://youtu.be/d8LyGA_jQuM)

Or if you're feeling particularly creative, you could make one (https://youtu.be/DCPIGDcJvUY)

Try and get your hands on a suitable wooden box. Then you can easily make the mechanism with wooden scraps and a few nails. I've made this one without any woodworking skill whatsoever.

Share the ones that you've come across so far!

Interesting. Beginner here, I played a bit long time ago.

If I want to casually play with a cube again, what type/brand do you advise?

I was looking at these 2:

There are speed cubes that are made to turn very smoothly and easily, which is most likely what he has. I'm not sure which exact one he's using, but this is the one I use and I really like it! There are a bunch of threads on /r/cubers with recommendations so that would be a good place to check as well!

u/33thirtythree · 2 pointsr/MakeNewFriendsHere

Nice! Working home has a ton of perks, freedoms, and flexibility. I know I'm stoked about it.

As far as a cubing gift, here's my recommendation.

CreativeLine SpeedRipper Cube: Perfect for International Speed Cube Competitions - Buttery Smooth Turning - Solid & Durable, Best 3x3 Puzzle Magic Toy - Turns Quicker Than Original https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071GV3ZJS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5i1uDbGKSTB77.

Sorry for the obnoxious url, it's the best I can do from mobile at the moment. It's a legit speed cube that is within a fair price range that should last a decent amount of time. Dont tell him, just have it sent. :-)

u/Alpha-Pancake · 2 pointsr/Cubers

It's a fully functional 3x3. when it is solved, you can open the top. It's a bit pricey tho.

Haven't done any speed cubing since the Guhong era, but heard about magnetized cubes and it sounds really interesting.

I'm planning on getting a Meilong from Amazon and a set of 50 nm50 4x2 magnets from ebay.

However I'm not sure if counterfeit cubes are a thing. Is this the correct cube? https://www.amazon.com/CuberSpeed-JiaoShi-Meilong-stickerless-Classroom/dp/B07QHQYQ9F/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=meilong+3x3&qid=1573894074&sr=8-6

Hey guys, so I'm pretty new. I got a Rubiks brand 3x3 for Christmas and have been having a blast solving it.

To feed this new found addiction I am looking to purchase a Valk 3. My question is has anyone had any experience with purchasing over amazon as opposed to the cubicle or speedcube ect. I got prime free two day shipping and would prefer to have it by Friday.

I'm looking at this one/seller : https://www.amazon.com/D-FantiX-MoFangGe-Speed-Stickerless-Puzzles/dp/B01L14PZJ4/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1484186661&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=valk+3&psc=1

If you're looking on websites to ship overseas or a magazine, then it's always safe to assume that this is per item.

These methods of shopping generally use this terminology make sure to use this pricing to be clear to you. Items are often sold in differing sizes ($/lot, $/dozen, $/piece) and use this terminology to show that even if the picture shows multiple rubix cubes, you will only receive a single item.

If you're in the market for Rubik's cubes specifically, I highly recommend dropping the extra $10-$15 for some of the better ones like the Moyu Weilong GTS

Trust me when I say that you really can tell the difference, especially compared to the original Rubiks! If you're getting into solving them quickly, or even just fidgeting with them (like I do) you definitely can feel when cheaper cubes catch or fail to turn. Never had it happen with a nice one!

u/Cubing_cuber · 1 pointr/Cubers

Yeah, they have knockoff cubes, like this one, which is horrible but looks nice

u/_DankTrain_ · 1 pointr/Cubers

No, however assuming that you’re in the us This is a good price on amazon. Hope your situation gets better!

I started cubing 3 weeks ago with a pb of 38.47 on my 3x3... which 2x2 would you recommend? I'm thinking about the D-FantiX 50mm Cyclone Boys 2x2 Speed Cube Stickerless https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q04QJSC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_sAq-yb1206W3M

Turn that frown Upsidedown

THANKS! :D

This toy is the best toy ever. Even though it's very popular and you might already have one, you should get it if you don't have one. Plus I want to know how to complete it.

u/sn0re · 1 pointr/pics

Amazon has them for $7.94. You could probably pick up a few here and there at garage sales, Salvation Army, etc. I have more than my fair share of them and I've only ever paid for one (at least only one 3x3). You tend to collect them over time.

u/REDDIT_U5ER · 1 pointr/Cubers

Really depends on what you prefer. Although I personally believe you're ready for some shapeshifters!

Try the gear cube (or ball), mirror cube, pyraminx, skewb, or square 1.

Megaminx is also pretty fun to mess around with.

Edit: This is nice, too

This is the one I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009L8RTQU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It was out of stock earlier in the day but it appears to currently have one available. I didn't pay extra for shipping though and it'll take about a month to make it's way here from China :(

Google gives what appears to my untrained eye as the same cube back so different name? I dunno. Maybe it's like calling something a Cubicle cube. I don't know, I don't even know what d'fantix is.

u/FortunateNaruto · 1 pointr/Cubers

This one here? if so it's to much, I only have 5 dollars 6 dollars max (It's from an Amazon gift card)

The Hellraiser Rubik's Cube

I know the photo loos like it's covered in shitty stickers, but the design is actually printed on there. It's a fun gift idea.

u/ThrustGoldy · 1 pointr/Cubers

Do you know if this is legit? Thinking of ordering it tomorrow.

I got one of them as a gift on Amazon so I can't look it up in my orders but I think it was this one

The other one is just a rubix brand one from like 10 years ago

u/kappakelele · 1 pointr/Cubers

I bought it off of amazon, from here
and I noticed that the sticker on the white center piece was kinda different from the ones i see on youtube and stuff, so i was just wondering if any of you could tell me if it is counterfeit

Solve time = move count / TPS (Turns per Second)

So to reduce solve time you need to reduce move count or increase your TPS. To reduce move count you can learn new algorithms and try to work on reducing your 4LLL to 2LLL. To increase your TPS you need to work on fingertricks and also getting "a chinese cube of some sort" could help. When I got serious about improving my time I started with a QiYi Warrior W. For $7 it's asking for that much dedication.
