Bose QuietComfort 35's

My wife knows me on such a deep level it's not even funny.

There is a single seller on Amazon (who is a new seller, without any reviews) that is selling a refurbished QC35. I think you just have to use a little common sense my friend (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01E3SNO1G/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all). It's $11 less than a guaranteed genuine pair. why even take that chance?

buy a good pair of noise isolating headphones. They are expensive but they are a good investment. 2 years for them to break and solid quality. Youtube has great instrumental music for hours on end. Wireless as well.

edit: I own these and they cover noisy neighbors that put loud music on all day.

I decided it was time to get my home office in order. The desk needed to be big enough to accommodate my day-job laptop as well as my laptop that I use for my photography business. It also had to be small enough to fit in my master bedroom.

Inspired by the minimalist setup by /u/hazzid (https://www.reddit.com/r/battlestations/comments/4iyjjw/new_house_new_setup_let_me_know_what_you_think_my/), I got to work.

Directed at Grey /u/MindOfMetalAndWheels, the Bose QC25 have just been updated to the Bose QC35. They are now wireless (Bluetooth) and have 20hrs battery life.

I hear you, it's definitely getting harder and harder. What's your budget and requirements like tho? There's definitely a plethora of good choices to pick from.

My pick for budget earphones is the XiaoMi Piston 2, which i picked up for less than 15 dollars.

For a proper headphone, I've used the Logitech UE 6000 for a long time and they are really lovely to listen to. Unfortunately, durability is poor and the leather/PU style cups usually disintegrate after a while. And it's discontinued unfortunately.

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-982-000079-6000-Headphones-Discontinued/dp/B0094S36RI

My current wishlist includes the Sony MDR 1A, which sounds absolutely fantastic with the on board DAC. A must-get if you have the budget for it.

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR1A-Premium-Hi-Res-Headphones/dp/B00NBMHY58

And on the wireless side of things, the Bose QC35 is great for mobility, without sacrificing quality like most wireless headsets do. This one is expensive, but for good reason of course since the unit I tried blocked off external noise extremely well to create an immersive listening experience.

Hope this helps you in some ways at least!

Bose QC-35

Lo discutimos aca en el sub el otro dia. No son los mejores en calidad de sonido en ese rango de precio. Pero sin duda son los mejores (por lejos!) con active noise cancellation y yo los quiero mas que nada por eso.

u/magneticbetty · 4 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

So I'm exactly the same way, I'm an introvert and hate noisy environments. I become very stressed out very fast. I've taken to always having earplugs on me so I can pop them in whenever I need to, so that's one thing I could suggest, if you can tolerate earplugs. I get the kinds meant for construction sites, that are meant to protect your hearing from really loud noises like jackhammers. I also have a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, which may or may not be better than what you have (they work really well for me, but are pricey): Bose QuietComfort 35

Another suggestion I'd make is Audiomute's sound proofing door kit. I bought this a few months ago, mainly because I installed a sound system in my room (I hate noise but still enjoy listening to my own music) and I didn't want to bug everyone else in the house with my noise. But it has also really, significantly dampened the amount of noise getting into the room. I was pretty shocked how well it worked for $39. That + a loud box fan going in my room makes a very relaxing environment for me. And as a bonus (for me anyway), it also blocks almost all smells from getting in -- I'm also super sensitive to scent, especially cooking smells.

If you get the door kit, just make sure you check it a few times by turning on the light in your room and closing the door while you're on the other side in a (preferably) dark hallway. If you can see any light getting through around the door, it's not fully sealed, but you can adjust the foam pretty easily until you get a good seal all the way around.

u/tsrs933 · 3 pointsr/medicalschool

I'm not quite as sensitive as perhaps you are, but I don't enjoy environmental noises either. To mitigate this, I bought these headphones. They're a bit expensive, but are absolutely amazing when it comes to blocking out the little annoyances. You could also try putting on some white noise while you study, or soft music. I personally can't do music as I start daydreaming and wishing I was a pianist, so I prefer silence.

I also don't study in the library for a few reasons, including noise. Try making a quiet study environment at home for yourself?

As for lectures, sit as close to the front as possible. For the most part, people in the front tend to pay closer attention, thus not talk or make too much noise.

Lastly, I think this issue will get better with time, especially if you can't fix the problem right away. I'm sure you'll eventually learn to tune out the little noises. Maybe your body will be so tired that eventually it'll say, "screw it, I'm sleeping through this".

Good luck!

You can get used to the headphones, I mean you see EVERYONE wearing them; you will not “stick out”. Headphones and your phone with some music works. I used to refuse to leave the house with wet hair… I learned that others care less about my appearance than I would have guessed.

There are cases where ear plugs work better. Some types hurt my ears too; here are some that are cheap and REALLY effective;

https://www.amazon.com/Macks-Pillow-Silicone-Earplugs-Value/dp/B003LZQGN6/?th=1

I also did some research on noise cancelling headphones; wonderful for plane trips, and in the car (when you are the passenger). A bit expensive, but worth the investment;

I've bought things from Amazon's european sites before at cheaper rates. I snagged some headphones from Amazon Spain for a lot less than what Amazon UK were asking. It shipped from spain too but I had prime so delivery was free and only took a day or two. It would be great if there was an extension for that.

Example:

Amazon UK £317

Amazon Spain €309 or £271

This should help.
I know bose QC35s aren't the best sound quality wise but they're best noise-canelling you can get.
Here are links to their amazon pages: ttps://www.amazon.de/Sony-High-Resolution-Headset-Funktion-Akkulaufzeit-kohlschwarz/dp/B01EANK8ZO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480858456&sr=8-1&keywords=Sony+MDR-100ABN, https://www.amazon.de/Bose-QuietComfort-kabellose-Kopfh%C3%B6rer-schwarz/dp/B01E3SNO1G/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1480858568&sr=8-1&keywords=Bose+QC35 if you're interested. Also sorry I don't really know how to link things.

u/Jteph · 2 pointsr/Wishlist

I wouldn't know. The only wireless "head set" i ever had is some no name in-ear that I still use right now. Cost like $15. They are decent.

But hey... it's just a free giveaway. Maybe you were just unlocky with that pair.

I did have the chance to listen some music on Bose QUietComfort 35. Oh my they are just amazing.

u/reddit_user_2017 · 2 pointsr/headphones

If noise-cancelling is required, then you should go for the Bose QC35. I know it is a bit of a downgrade given the features that the MDR1000X have, but it is quite the pair. I have been using them for quite a while and they sound really nice.

It seems like a pretty difficult task. If you are reserved about using sound as your object, then a couple of things come to mind:

  • You could use good noise cancelling headphones that would tone down the outside noises. I use a pair similar to these and they work pretty well in work setting and may just work for your commute as well.
  • Also, either use very familiar music, like the tracks that you've heard a thousand times before, or better yet, something like "Om" sound for your track.

To be honest though, in this less than ideal setting, I'd still rather follow the breath and try to work with distractions. But that's just an opinion not backed by first hand experience.

They're pretty solid but i got caught in a sudden rain and the mic got shorted out :S I like them because w/ the mic and the noise cancellation its about the only way i can take a call on the train, hehe. I bought a pair of series 2s a few weeks ago and they're great (:

Indeed I have several questions, did your friends who owns the QC35 updated to the latest firmware?

I see all over internet people who got trouble with their ANC since Firmware 2.5.1

Here is a mega thread on the Bose forum:

Very happy with my Note 8. Got the Unlocked from Samsung directly:

Galaxy Note8 64GB (Unlocked)

Added 256GB SD card and this case:

Ztotop Armor Shield Shockproof Rugged Protective Case with Kickstand for Samsung Galaxy Note8 (2017) - Black / Black

Been using this wireless charger at home:

Spigen Essential F300W Qi Wireless Charger Charging Pad with 3 Coils

And these in my vehicles:

iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless Qi Standard Car Mount Charger

The case works with both wireless chargers. I've had the phone for a couple of months and never needed to plug it in to charge. Battery has never gone below 40%, but I have no idea if I am above or below the average when it comes to using it. I use it extensively for reading, taking notes, and listening to music (via Bluetooth headphones). I take occasional pictures, which have come out really nice, and a couple of long videos.

Been very happy with the purchase, since I got $400 off the purchase price as a former Note 7 owner (turned in an old Galaxy S5). Because of that, I don't have contract to worry about, and since it's unlocked, I can switch carriers if I want to.

u/sloopieone · 1 pointr/lifehacks

Would these not be exactly what you're looking for, without the additional adapter?

u/Sven_Braun · 1 pointr/headphones

Thanks for responding. I just looked at both of those, and they look like a good combination.

I did a little checking around a local electronics store and saw the Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones. I tried them out in the store, and they seem to be comfortable.

They're pricier than what you recommended, but I'd be willing to buy them if it would fit my situation. Do you have any experience with Bose headphones, or even this set?

Otherwise, I might go with your suggestion. I'd like them mainly for listening to music, but I also have an electric instrument that I wouldn't mind using them with, and a gaming setup I would use occasionally.

u/jrf1234 · 1 pointr/aviation

Get these or these if you can afford them. Both of them are super comfortable and reliable. You said you were in highschool in another comment so the first one should not break the bank. I personally use the first pair for commuting and they are phenomenal.

u/0xTheparadox0 · 1 pointr/Mcat

lol that would be pretty sweet. Are these the ones you have? They're pretty pricey but if they last long-term, I don't mind spending on them for future use cause I might need them for med school anyway. https://www.amazon.com/Bose-QuietComfort-Wireless-Headphones-Cancelling/dp/B01E3SNO1G/ref=sr_1_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1500568707&sr=1-1&keywords=bose+quietcomfort+35

Bose In-Line Mic Cable (this set up specifically requires the Samsung/Android version of this cable)

Xbox One Controller Stereo Headset Adapter

For no-compromise active noise cancelling headphones, the Bose QuietComfort 35 are unmatched. They don't block out all sounds, but they block out all ambient noise. I find it a lot easier to study with these on.

Currently I have a bit of a situation. The headphones I currently have (Vmoda) are seriously hurting my head (and ears) and I definitely need more comfortable headphones. On top of that I'd like to have some that help keep noise out while I sleep since I work the graveyard shift and sleep during the day but the house can get quite rowdy so i'd like for them to be noise cancelling. I went to best buy and tried out the Bose Quietcomfort 35 wireless headphones noise cancelling black and they felt great on my head but were fairly expensive. I just wanted to see if there were other options comparable to them before I take the plunge.

-Budget - $300 but a little flexible
-Source - Gaming Computer
-Requirements for Isolation - I would like noise cancelling headphones
-Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Probably just at home on gaming computer
-Preferred Type of Headphone - On ear preferred
-Preferred tonal balance - Smooth Midrange, surround sound.
-Past headphones - Vmoda I have no idea what type these headphones are but they are seriously hurting my head/ears. Too tight no matter how I adjust them. I hate them so much
-Preferred Music - Rock
-What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Better comfort, surround sound, noise cancelling.

u/jaapbaardaap · 1 pointr/programming

I work in an open office environment and I use a pair of Bose AE2 headphones. They don't cancel that much noise but they are really light and I don't really notice them when I am working. If you really need the noise cancellation you should look at the Bose QC25/QC35. The ear pads are just as comfortable as the AE2 but they are a bit heavier so you might notice the weight when you turn your head.

This thread is posted nearly every day. Bose QC35 are the best headphones available and not just for VR. They are also the most comfortable headphones available - QC stands for quiet comfort after all.
