Before moving to Chicago, I bought this. Never had to use it (at least..not yet), but it's better than nothing. It's also feels like a tank, as far as bats go. I used to play softball back in the day!

I've also seen on here it's best to put a long sock on the end of the bat because if someone grabs it and you pull back, they'll end up with the sock instead of the bat.

I have one of these little beauties. I use it for work so it's always in my car. It's about 2 feet long, solid, very hard plastic, and weighted at the end. I can imagine that it's good for a lot of uses. Maybe a nice improvised defensive tool in a pinch. What it's really good for and what I use it for is checking tires. It provides a good, solid strike, hits hard, doesn't bounce back much even on big truck tires. At 20 bucks, there's no reason why anyone shouldn't have one in their trunk for checking tires.

Personally I believe the Cold Steel Indian War Club would be a most effective Zombie killing weapon.

Assuming you could sidestep the 'cone of doom' being the hands and mouth of a zombie and can land a successful blow, it'd destroy a zombie skull.

Cold Steel also makes a bat. I feel the bat requires too much room to accurately swing and with such a large surface area the impact would be too spread to be very effecting for anything more than smacking a single zombie in the head in the middle of the street.

The club's spike however focuses that initial impact into a smaller surface area increasing the likelihood of a critical impact all in a weapon designed to be wielded with one hand. The spikes initial hole in the skull would weaken the surrounding skull allowing the club to finish it's job in fewer impacts than the bat.

The Cold Steel Crusher is quite possibly the best melee weapon for zombies. Won't get stuck, won't break, not too long/short. Really though, a blunt weapon around 2 feet long is probably the best bet.
