This might be a bit OCD, but I suggest covering the the floor and possibly the upholstery carpet protector. This will make clean up much easier and faster. You can then drape fabrics over the protector that is on the upholstery.

Tape reflective emergency blankets over the windows, this will help keep the RV much cooler.

Put blue painting tape over all the seals around the windows of the RV. This will help keep stray dust from finding its way into the RV. Do this BEFORE arriving on playa. The blue tape will not stick once the RV has playa on it.

Here you go. I apply these on my 350's, and with any other nice shoe I have. Perfect if you wanna resell like new, or just be rest assured the bottoms will be clean.

edit: Here's a youtube video showing how to apply.

You're not taking into consideration that the plywood is likely glued together. Duct tape really isn't necessary, just spray it with water to keep it from becoming airborne.

If you insist on the tape method get stick on floor protector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BQN7Y4/ref=asc_df_B000BQN7Y45374584/

You also need to know where you can legally dispose of it.

I use plastic painters drop cloths, usually 1mil thickness.

This could do the job quite well too:

The home center ones are horrible. I like Surgical Blue brand.

For dust removal, I generally do three steps before applying finish each time. First I vacuum with a brush attachment using a vacuum with a good filter (an unfiltered vacuum will circulate the dust back into the air doing more harm than good). Then I lightly dampen a paper towel with mineral spirits and wipe off any residual dust, judging how well I've done by the amount of dust on the towel. Then I use the tack cloth to pick up the last remnants. Yes it's belt and suspenders and suspenders, but dust in the finish is a big pain.

Also worth mentioning: I try to avoid applying finishes that like to trap dust in the shop, especially film finishes (with the exception of shellac, which dries so quickly that it tends not to present a problem). So this is what the living room looks like a lot of the time. Getting away from the inherent dustiness of a typical woodshop makes a big difference.

You're very welcome.

Yeah that's what I'd suggest ok I misread that. No, don't put the vapor barrier outside your wall panels. It would go wall, sound dampener, insulation, vapor barrier, panels. But something like this plastic sheeting would work fine. Maybe better than reflectix. If you go this route make sure to use tape that's also a vapor barrier. Duct tape isn't. This tape is and it's hella sticky and rated for more extreme temperatures.

Here's a picture of how I did it. It's not that difficult.

u/michaelsiemsen · 2 pointsr/Workbenches

After having to clean up one-too-many drips, I started using rosin paper under glue-ups. Amazon link , but you can get at any big hardware store. Have had the same roll for at least a year now.

Some thoughts from running decades of special Halloween sessions, and also decades of running Ravenloft:

The most horrific sessions are one-shots. Players realize they can die, and that you will be pulling no punches. I usually don't use D&D for these types of games. I've had a lot of success using Dread, for example.

Mood music is super effective. Play it at a volume level that fades into the background (you want it to be present, but you don't want it to bother anyone.) Make sure you pick music that has no vocals, because words are distracting. Also, make sure you have plenty of music--looping 4 or 5 tracks over and over through a session just gets repetitive and annoying. I have a few Spotify playlists specifically for Ravenloft and horror-type games. (If you use Spotify, make sure to pay for premium! Nothing kills the mood like having a commercial interrupt your spooky music!) This is my Ravenloft soundtrack. Here is some gothic orchestral music. Here is some ambient/drone horror music (better for a more modern, cinematic game.) Here is a playlist I like to call vampire waltz.

Buy yourself some 6 mil black plastic sheeting. Sometimes called "painter's plastic." You can get it at any hardware store. The black 6 mil is thin enough to cut with scissors, but thick enough to block out all sunlight. You can use tacks or tape to cover your windows, and make a room pitch-black. Hang two overlapping strips of it in a doorway or hall to make a light barrier. One safety warning: this stuff is flammable, so don't put candles anywhere near it.

Taper candles made out of bee wax burn brighter and longer than your standard candle. No matter what kind of taper candle you use, make sure you have holders that catch the drippings. A couple reasonably priced candelabras can go a long way at preventing messes, and also look appropriately gothic. Two of those candelabras are enough to light a small table in a pitch-black room for somewhere between 4 and 8 hours (depending on the quality of the candle.)

If you use a DM screen or other player barrier, be sure to get a third light source and position it somewhere off to your side. (If you put it behind, you will be fighting your shadow.) Also make sure it is out of arm's reach. That way you can safely shuffle notes and books around your space without fear of knocking it over.

I use a computer monitor to display images to my players. Before the game, I will queue up a movie that fits the theme of the game. Something like the 1931 Dracula, Frankenstein, or any Hammer Horror film. This mostly serves as background noise as the players filter in and get ready for the game.

To make a Halloween game feel special, serve themed food. Even a couple drops of red food coloring in a 2-Liter of Sprite can go a long way. Having high-quality, trick-or-treat worthy candy around is a must!

I dunno, if you do it yourself, it can be pretty cost effective.

that said, make sure you change this out fairly often (not that a 200' roll won't last a lifetime...) because the adhesive can stain carpet if it's left on for a long period of time. Suggest removing it if you know you won't have the dog in the car for a few days if possible.

I used this painters tarp. Fits perfect with no cutting. Shelf is an Amazon Basics was $10 cheaper to buy the one with the casters as opposed to without. Velcro holds the sides together for easy access

u/-_Zer0day_- · 1 pointr/Frat

Use adhesive floor protection. This stuff works like a charm with paint!

I'm going to assume that your off campus house has hard floors. Don't buy the minimum square footage since you're going to want to overlap at least 2 inches. Use a dry mop or floor squeegee to evenly spread each sheet and get a good seal on the floor, and use masking tape to secure the edges.

When the party's over, peel it up and toss it in a dumpster. Good luck!

Only thing I really would need help figuring out is to keep co2 levels down, so a vent system, I’m sure I could figure it out maybe some type of good system with pvc with a few 90s to prevent light down the top

u/IndividualDonut · 1 pointr/partyplanning

If you can have the party...outside...try to keep everyone outside.

Or I found this on Amazon...not sure how well it works: https://www.amazon.com/Kenley-Protector-Adhesive-Plastic-Protection/dp/B013X5SMDA/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1538722997&sr=8-15&keywords=rug+protector

Encourage people to drink responsibly...maybe limit your invite list to smaller group of people...keep the bar and activities in ares that don't have new floors (? not sure what the layout of the space is...) Serve items that would not "stain" as much: clear soda and vodka :(

Are the "new floors" carpet? if so has it been treated with stain-preventer, like scotch-guard?

(Paint traps and anything not securely in place will only cause people to trip. slip and fall...even before they start drinking.)

u/gooberlx · 1 pointr/germanshepherds

Of course regular brushing and vacuuming as mentioned. I also advise investing in a high velocity dryer. Those things are awesome.

For your car, Don't bother with those car seat cover hammock things. They suck and hair will manage to find its way underneath anyway. Buy a huge painters canvas/cloth from Home Depot or wherever, that you can stuff into every nook and cranny.

u/Seawolfe665 · 1 pointr/dyeing

Those napkins are lovely. This may be a silly thought, but my mind immediately went to cutting up a painters drop cloth like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TIXP6EU/ though a lighter cloth might be less stiff.

u/GrandmaGos · 1 pointr/gardening

Beans.

>It's only happened to one of the plants

If it was cultural, or a nutrient deficiency, it would be affecting all the beans equally. It's not, so that makes it bean mosaic virus. Pull the diseased plant and destroy it. Control any aphid population.

https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/beans/treating-mosaic-in-beans.htm

Beans are self-fertile, but bees are required to transfer pollen.

Why are you growing runner beans in a poly tunnel? Are you growing your entire plant list inside the tunnel? Why are you doing that? If you're in the UK, username IAmABritishGuy, tunnels aren't necessary.

You have cool season frost-tolerant crops growing with warm season frost-intolerant crops. All of them would only need a tunnel or greenhouse in certain climates at certain times of the year. It's not standard practice to lump them all together simultaneously.

Small fruits in particular don't go in a tunnel unless you live in Nunavut or at the McMurdo Sound research station in Antarctica. A greenhouse keeps them too warm year-round. Blueberries and gooseberries depend on a winter chill dormancy period.

I applaud your energy and ambition, but erecting a greenhouse and then filling it with All The Plants isn't necessarily the best way to produce veg. So where are you located?

>Does anyone know what I should be searching for to find/buy some food grade pvc? plastic to lay down on the compost for my strawberry plants to grow onto, I'm looking for the same stuff that's used in commercial fields.

Plastic sheeting is not made of PVC.

The stuff you're looking for doesn't come in a "food grade" formulation because it's specifically made for industrial and commercial applications. It's known variously as plastic mulch, landscaping plastic, black plastic, polyethylene sheeting.

It comes in a 4ml and 6ml thickness. The 6ml is really heavy plastic. The 4ml is fine for most purposes.

Again, assuming "UK" due to username.

>I'm also looking for some ideas for killing ants & slugs as they keep appearing in the polytunnel.

Ants are a valuable ally in the garden, being both predators and scavengers, and are left strictly alone unless they're farming aphids, in which case you remove the aphids and then the ants go away. Since you apparently have a bean mosaic outbreak which is spread by aphids, I'm guessing that you have aphids, which would explain the ants.

For slugs, you use any brand of commercial slug bait that you like, either the iron-based or the metaldehyde. The iron-based has the advantage of not being quite so toxic to toddlers and dogs as the metaldehyde.

>I've been looking for a watering can filter of some sort of cleaner so I can pour water from my watering can without pouring loads of bits of dirt, leave... etc.

The question here would be, why does your watering can have bits of dirt and leaves in it?

The water that comes out doesn't need to be human-potable kitchen-faucet clean. The plants are living in dirt and leaves, so adding a little more makes no difference.

I would primer and paint then we use this in Florida. Put it on any leading edge of your bike. When/if you want to remove it then just pull it off. No harm to any finish, paint chrome or other wise.

u/PruHTP · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Go to each one and pull the strands out. If you can see wood/paper then those are section that need to be replaced. When you replace a run, you replace the whole section. Thus you run from one closed in section on one side to the closed in section on the other. When you pull each run, there are pins holding it up. Collect them in bag and analyze them to see if they are rusted. As to the plastic that is on the floor take a flashlight and analyse it for moisture under it. If it feels like the thinness of a trashbag it's probably too thin. If the floor is entirely covered and has no open ground showing, you can (leaf, plastic) rake up any insulation sitting on the floor and just add another level of plastic and seal it into place.
