If you're a PC gamer by some chance, this should work. It's a mouse with a thumbstick and lots of programmable buttons.

u/zombiecheesus · 9 pointsr/gaming

MMORPG: Eve Online

Civilization Series, Total War Series, Faster Than Light, Xcom, Sins of a Solar Empire: Strategy

Annon Series, Europa Series, Crusader Kings, Banished: Simulation Strategy

Fall Out series with a good mouse, the targeting systems makes movement based combat minimal if you chose it to be.

Baulder's Gate Series, Dragon Age 1: RPG (Set Pause to a mouse key)

Emulate some old RPGs like FF6 or get FF7 on steam ( Set numpad as keys to easily play one handed).

I new a guy who used something like this in combination with key macros to play wow. He had one arm. -Make sure when setting up macros for online games the delay time between key strokes is random (Ie random 8-80 ms) to avoid auto macro detection.

A lot of strategy games can be played one handed if you get a good mouse with at least 5 extra buttons. Things like Warhammer 40k really only require 3-4 short cut keys.

You could also look into getting something like a Logitech G13 or Razer Tartarus. They've got fully programmable buttons and a D-pad/Joystick. Might help out in your case.

u/ShoutHouse · 6 pointsr/gaming

You could get him a really cool gaming keypad. Something meant for mmo's like the logitech g13 or the Razer Tartarus

Razer also has a more expensive one called the orbweaver

u/downhillcarver · 5 pointsr/motorcycles

What kinda games do you play?

PC? This might do the trick.

Xbox 360 or Xbone? Ben Heck sells one handed controllers for both!

He's apparently also made one handed controllers for the PS4 but I couldn't find a sale page, just this Time article about it.

I know this may not help you with the big stuff, but at least it might help you with your downtime.

If you set up a Go Fund Me for this, I'll gladly help you pay for a few one handed controllers!

u/Nomsfud · 4 pointsr/pcmasterrace

$77? That seems to be close to what it retails for. Are you sure it's on sale? You can actually get it for cheaper on Amazon

Razer Tartarus Gaming Keypad

There's also the Razer Nostromo (discontinued) and Logitech G13. Razer has an Orbweaver which comes in a mechanical keyswitch variety as well.

u/NuclearL3mon · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Something like the Razer Tartarus. Uses the left hand and I believe can be used in most games.

The new Tartarus, nostromos been discontinued

u/mindfckr · 2 pointsr/leagueoflegends

You could always try something like the Tartarus

That would keep your hand from deviating too much. You can find one refurbished for about half the cost.

u/lgoolsby · 2 pointsr/EliteDangerous

What do you have mapped to your Razer Tartarus (that's what mine is called, I think they had a previous version with an different name). I have been wanting to map mine out but haven't done it yet.

u/Combat_Wombatz · 2 pointsr/starcitizen

I would say so, but again I would say that stick + mouse or stick + programmable gamepad would be a better choice. At the end of the day, a throttle typically just doesn't have much variety of inputs. It has always struck me as a waste of a hand when I have used them in the past.

u/PwnDailY · 2 pointsr/dayz

You'll probably need a mouse that has a key board on it if those exist.

Gamepads are the closest thing.

Edit: My heart goes out to you buddy, if I had the funds, I'd totally invent a mouse keypad thing.

Edit 2: This might work as an alternative. Use your thumb to move, gonna have to get a lefty version though I suppose...

u/ollee · 2 pointsr/Twitch

Provided it's your keyboard shoulder, not your mouse shoulder(or maybe even the other way around I guess) you could get real creative with one of these or some other similar keypad.

u/sumthingcool · 2 pointsr/AlienwareAlpha

Maybe you would like a gaming keypad more?

Example:

There are plenty out there just google 'gaming keypad'

u/Davewesh · 2 pointsr/buildapc

There are after market game pads like this

I have the callus like the picture of the asians as well, but I got the cyst a long time ago. I can't tell for sure when I got it but its not bothersome at all. You can see it but you can't feel it and it never hurts or anything. I think they are caused just from moving your tendons in your hand a lot in a way that they don't like, suck as using a keyboard or mouse while having your hand oriented in a certain way (perhaps in such a way that a razer nostromo or a Razer Tartarus (which I now use) requires your hand to be)

u/sendinthetanks · 1 pointr/OutreachHPG

I have a Logitech T16000M. Honestly, training on it probably made me a better pilot when I switched back to a mouse. Your torso twist will be amazing but accuracy will suffer greatly. It was fun while I did it but once I switched to my current set up i enjoyed the game much more.

For optimum MWO goodness I recommend a good gaming mouse with 10 buttons and a Razer Tartarus.

See if this might work :)

u/gloworm22 · 1 pointr/EliteDangerous

You don't need a matching setup if you already have a joystick you like. I just use a Razor Tartarus for the throttle and it works well.

Just to make sure, I'm talking about this:

Razer Tartarus Gaming Keypad

Either way, good luck to ya :)

u/AzuinaHijackLoL · 1 pointr/ffxiv

Gaming keypad. I started using the Nostromo back when it had Belkin on the box. Razer owned it for a while then expanded it a bit into the Tartarus and Orbweaver lines. I use the Tartarus now and it's pretty alright. http://www.amazon.com/Razer-RZ07-01030100-R3U1-Tartarus-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B00EHBKUTE

u/whoweoncewere · 1 pointr/wow

I think that the mouse has got you covered for most of the stuff that you'll need to do in game and we've only got movement left to worry about. There are small gaming pads like this that have a little joystick for your thumb, or like someone else suggested, a full joystick could be used too, really depends on your mobility.

u/d3dreaper · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Keep in mind that there are more than just this one on the market as well.
Theres the Saitek Cyborg
The Razer Orbweaver, Tartarus and Nostromo
The Delux T9
As well as The Warrior Gaming Keypad
Among others that appear and disappear from the market from time to time. It's all about what you are looking for in a game keypad.

u/M3TALL1K · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Programs like Xpadder will enable you to map whatever buttons you need to a controller, while mice like the Logitech G600 have so many buttons that can be bound to keyboard commands too. Additionally, you might want to have a look at some of these kinds of devices. http://www.amazon.com/Razer-RZ07-01030100-R3U1-Tartarus-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B00EHBKUTE

u/DangerG · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

For years I used one of these for all my art related activities. It freed up so much space for my drawing tablet, but it also didnt make me have to sacrifice functionality for shortcuts and key combos.

Same probably applies for gaming and there is a reason some people build little "game pads" which is just programmed with the buttons they need for gaming.

u/Avvikke · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

The controller joystick is better for physical player movement.

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-RZ07-01030100-R3U1-Tartarus-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B00EHBKUTE

That's why PC has these things. I'm getting one soon. WASD is pretty much inferior to the left side of a controller.

The mouse...however...is where it's not even close. Look/aiming accuracy, mouse wins.

u/mr-hasgaha · 1 pointr/starcitizen

You're switching between the keyboard and HOTAS for flight vs FPS stuff? Yeah, I haven't figured that one out yet either. I feel like having a keypad thingy in between my sticks would be ideal. I'd then have a straight line of peripherals: Left stick, keypad, right stick, mouse.

u/TheNamesMcCreee · 1 pointr/XIM

I use the razer tartarus gamepad. I got mine on amazon and i love it.

u/Lemon_pop · 1 pointr/pcgaming

You could try a gaming keypad, I have one and it's pretty nice.

u/quindraco · 1 pointr/Overwatch

Here's what you want, rather than a keyboard, because a keyboard is inferior to a game controller for movement, due to its lack of a joystick - with the default keybinds, characters can't reload while stepping to the right, which is hilariously awful.

It's not mechanical and the joystick sucks (but is a lot better than not having one!), but the only other options on the internet cost a downright comedic amount of money more (such as Razer's other option, the Orbweaver).

I'm currently trying to decide which I want to prioritize more - a gaming mouse or a gaming headset. My mic is awful, but it's damn hard finding fellow players with the intelligence to turn on team chat.

Lucky day: Tatarus is 14.29 on Amazon right now. Free shipping on orders over $35. Get your boss to buy 3 for the office.

Also for the few things you can't do with Synapse I'm a huge fan of AutoHotkey.

Take a little more programming no how but there are tons of tutorials out there.

Most posts from this subreddit are usually buried by my other subs. That said, I think this thread is neat, because I finally get to show off my sub-par everything!

Steam Wishlist

Kerbal Space Program
Who doesn't want to play KSP? It's rocket science in video game form! Every kid who's ever considered going into space wants to play, and I'm a 33 year old kid who wants to go into space!

The Stanley Parable
Anything that is reminiscent of Half Life is okay in my book, especially because of how deranged that world can be. The Stanley Parable, I feel, turns it all on its head and does a breakdance on a flatted out cardboard refrigerator box.

Depression Quest
Unreleased [Was released 3 months ago, wow!] Game that supposedly exposes you to the world of Depression. I've suffered enough to think that I could be a good guinea pig, and flesh out any inaccuracies, while still hoping to enjoy the experience.

Antichamber
Currently the one game that I want more than anything else. A first person puzzle game (reminds me a little of Portal), with a bit of mind-bending game play that's sure to frustrate me to no end. Quite likely to be the only game I won't try to Google the answers to, no matter how frustrated I may get.

Mark of the Ninja
This is number two on my "I Want This Now" list. The visuals and play style look absolutely beautiful, and you have the option to stealth it out or kill your way through, but you still can't be reckless. 2-D platforming with added functionality to really make it a better looking ninja game than most on the market.

Psychonauts
There are days where I watch the trailer and think, "I really need to play this game." Then there are other days where my thoughts are, "Why the hell would I play Psychonauts, like, ever?!" It's a struggle, and I think it's because the visual style and overall tone remind me a lot of American McGee's Alice, and the personal struggles I was going through when that game was a big part of my life.

Alice: Madness Returns
Speaking of American McGee's Alice, here's the sequel! Something about the play style being changed to a more fleshed out platformer makes this installment seem more appealing. The style and tone are still dark and grim, but maybe because the actual graphics are better and more well-rounded, the theme doesn't set me back to my own personal dark days.

FTL: Faster Than Light
A rogue-like that's set in space? Sign me up! I need a little variety, and FTL (along with the amazing soundtrack) seem to fit right in.

Scribblenauts Unlimited
Dude! You can make Cthulhu run around and kill everything!

Portal 2
I'm sorry that I don't own Portal 2. I am a bad gamer, and should be punished...with a copy of Portal 2.

If I were able to have more room where I stay, I'd get a Das Keyboard for extra fast typy-ness, and a Game Pad for extra gaming awesomeness. But no space means limited to just the lappy.
