Another reply already posted them.

Here's a better price:

http://www.amazon.com/Foods-Nac-Acetyl-Cysteine-600mg-Vcaps/dp/B0013OUQ3S/

Of course bulk powder will always be cheaper.

And I've never really heard of side effects, at least anything notable. Certainly nothing for me. You can probably find anecdotes here and there, but don't forget placebo has side effects. I'll totally submit that to TIL.

You need to buy some NAC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. You should take 1g of it 15min before you pop your pills (or at the same time as your pills if you're impatient), then another 1g of NAC 3 hours later. One single $10-15 jar will last you over a year probably. This stuff directly prevents APA/acetominophen/paracetamol from turning into the hepatoxic metabolite it usually does. This is what's given for APAP overdose in the hospital, though they usually give WAY larger doses and usually via IV.

Here's enough for 125 days of opioid use for only like $17. If you're too lazy to even take this shit alongside your opioids you could easily CWE, then you kind of deserve your fate, no offense.

Why the FUCK wouldn't you CWE 30mg codeines man? You legit took 9 GRAMS of APAP yesterday. Do you think you just instantly die from that shit? It takes days and sometimes up to a week before going into proper liver failure, and it's pure torture every hour until that week is over.

Yes!! My numbers went from <.05 to .01 now in 2 in a half weeks. I used liquid bugle weed and this tincture:

I use 2 mg- 3 mg a day. I also take L carnitine 1,000. I'm playing with doses right now. The prescription medicine really upsets my stomach..

alright here goes my exhaustive list of stuff that goes into my preworkout! i love to research the stuff that works, and then experiment to see how effectively they work for me, especially on keto.

  1. 1 scoop of pre jym from bodybuilding.com - just because i don't want to add all those ingredients (good compared to most) on my own and it tastes pretty good (raspberry lemonade). it does, however, have 4g carbs per scoop - https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/jym/pre-jym.html

  2. 1/2 scoop of optimum nutrition hydrowhey protein powder (about 15g protein) - fast digesting preworkout protein seems more logical than just bcaas. keeps me satiated during my workout and seems to boost recovery times because i have the full gamut of proper amino acids in my bloodstream as exercise-induced insulin rises. turbo chocolate and chocolate peanut butter are my favorites. vanilla surprisingly sucks and gets very foamy - https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/platinum_hydrowhey.html

  3. 1 tsp curcumin powder from bulk supplements - expensive but 1kg lasts a long time - go to examine.com to see the dozens of benefits it has across the board. i use this to help alleviate my disc issues, but it feels great for workouts because it reduces inflammation everywhere, especially joints. you can get pills instead, but they're not as cost effective and i like to blend it into my shakes. MAKE SURE YOU PAIR IT WITH BIOPERINE (already in pre jym but super cheap anyway) OR GET THE BIO AVAILABLE TYPES. otherwise, only your gut will get the benefits -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHY364A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

  4. 1 digestive enzyme pill - research has shown that such enzymes not only help with what you'd expect, digestion, but also boost muscle synthesis, immune system, reduce soreness, etc. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RH5K26I/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  5. 1 tbsp extra citrulline malate - because 1 scoop of pre-jym doesn't have the clinical dose of around 8g. research has shown that it reduces soreness and speeds up muscle repair. i believe it helps performance as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EYDJU50/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  6. EDIT: 1/2 tsp (not 2 tsp) extra beta alanine - because 1 scoop of pre-jym doesn't have enough. this stuff kinda acts like creatine, boosting the number of reps you can do. especially helpful on my high rep/speed days. great for crossfit types of workouts if you're into those. i like the tingly feeling as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EIO4I8E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  7. 1/2 tsp potassium citrate - i take electrolytes before and during my workouts -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENSA93S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  8. 1/16 tsp magnesium glycinate - one of the most bioavailable forms of mg and doesn't mess up your digestion -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F7OZJR8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  9. 1/2 tsp calcium citrate - Ca and Mg go well together in the body. also, multivitamins rarely hit the RDA for calcium -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F8I5XPG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  10. 1/2 tsp pink salt - sodium! need lots of it because i sweat a lot - https://www.samsclub.com/sams/himalayan-pink-salt-5-lb-fine-grain/prod20131268.ip

  11. 1/4 tsp vitamin c - i take a lot of vit C to help with disc healing. collagen synthesis requires vit C. of course, great anti-oxidant, great for skin, etc. -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AYIM9Y8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  12. 1/2 tsp ALCAR - i supplement this mostly for the nootropic effect (boosts the brain and concentration), but it supposedly helps with fat breakdown and energy a little bit. i feel razor sharp concentrated during my workouts with this. also, it's just plain old good for the brain. -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7H96DY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  13. 200 mg L-theanine - smooths out the jittery feeling from caffeine to provide more stable energy. also good before bed to get higher quality of sleep. -
    https://www.amazon.com/BulkSupplements-Pure-L-Theanine-Powder-grams/dp/B00E7GESLA/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089341&sr=8-1&keywords=bulk%2Bl-theanine&th=1

  14. 100mg pill RALA - good for the nervous system and energy - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Stabilized-R-Lipoic-BioEnhanced/dp/B000I4C19G/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089382&sr=8-1&keywords=doctor%27s+best+rala

  15. 200mg coq10 - good for the heart, boosts energy a bit - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Absorption-Bioperine-Supplement/dp/B00HRGN36S/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089466&sr=8-2&keywords=doctor%27s%2Bbest%2Bcoenzyme%2Bq10&th=1

  16. 320mg saw palmetto extract pill - good for men's prostate health, keeps good testosterone high (instead of DHT), and for me, prevents the hairloss that creatine (i think) has induced. not just bs bro science, go to examine.com for research. i personally have regrown a lot of hair by taking 2-3 three of these a day for the last three months! - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Palmetto-Softgels-Count/dp/B006RQ6TAG/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492092375&sr=8-1&keywords=doctor%27s+best+saw+palmetto

  17. 1 tbsp psyllium husk powder - keeps my digestion on track, prevents the indigestion i tend to get from MCT oil - https://www.amazon.com/Bulksupplements-Pure-Psyllium-Powder-grams/dp/B0100QRXOO/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492092483&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=psyllium%2Bhusk%2Bpowder&th=1

  18. 10g MCT oil - i either use brain octane or miCkey T Eight because they are pure C-8 caprylic acid instead of blends of the crappier acids. definitely boosts energy during long workouts. careful, it tends to mess with your stomach if you don't ease into it. if you're good with coconut oil, you're probably good with this. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RUCHISS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  19. 100mg hyaluronic acid - helps with joints and skin. i have noticed my knee and elbow pain going away while taking this. skin complexion also improved. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00663G8WO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    currently experimenting with:

  20. clear muscle - i usually supplement HMB, but this is the newer liquid variant. its pricey, and i haven't noticed anything bad about it, but it's hard to say if it's working better than the much cheaper powdered HMB. studies are probably very biased, so i can't really trust them - https://www.amazon.com/MuscleTech-Advanced-Strength-Building-Capsules/dp/B00JQ3WXS4/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094034&sr=8-1&keywords=clear+muscle

  21. phospha muscle - phosphatidic acid has shown some promise in studies, but again, probably biased research. also cannot tell yet, but i have seen some decent strength gains pairing this with clear muscle. we'll see! - https://www.amazon.com/MuscleTech-Phospha-Clinically-Phosphatidic-SoftGels/dp/B00UVAG1PM/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094155&sr=8-1&keywords=phospha+muscle

phew! making this list made me realize how much time and effort i put into the trial and error of my preworkout. of course, i supplement a lot of this stuff with my other meals as well. as you can see, i'm very big on supplements, biohacking, and nootropics. i read up a lot on research in my spare time.
u/oxnardpike · 3 pointsr/trichotillomania

50/50 is great odds, especially compared to alternative treatments. I couldn't find NAC in tablet form, or small capsule sizes, but if you find tablets you could try halving them with a pill cutter. I also found NAC in a powder form--I haven't tried it myself, but perhaps it's worth trying.

u/Moobyghost · 3 pointsr/bipolar2

Me.

Late diagnosed BPII when I was 29. The next 8 years on lithium so I was stable and not trying to kill myself. Cannabis to try to increase mood enough to not weep all day long. Everything was hard. Everything was a struggle. Everything that went wrong was a tragedy. I learned about the effects of Adderall to bipolar brains after doing my own research. Then I provided all that to my pill shrink who said, "I don't feel like changing your meds and if i did i wouldn't try that." I asked him when he stopped being a real pill shrink and just became a script signer for a pay check. I took the ADHD test and it said I had ADHD. Found a new pill shrink and got put on 10mg x2 daily Adderall. That med has changed my life.

I am about to suck adderalls proverbial dick here for a second, but there are several issues with the drug that anyone on it needs to know, and if you are a man there can be some other scary symptoms too, but there are ways around everything i have learned and will be glad to share that info later if needed.

So everything is different. The first two months i got the euphoria. I was floating through the air. Hovering over the ground. No longer did I slog through oatmeal just to move or think. Now I was graceful.

I catch myself smiling all the time now. I sing in the car. I am social again. All the toxic negative shit my brain would do or say to me all day long to beat me, berate me, and stifle me is gone. Suicidal thoughts all day long are gone.

Thinking is clear. Actions are leveled. Energy is up. Food consumption is down. 22 pounds lost in 4 months on adderall.

I am a better me in every single way, but that is because I reigned it in. Adderall helped me to control my life, nay, LIVE my life now, but I had to get a handle on it too.

After feeling that euphoria that first month, I abused it a little too like some do. Take more than i needed. I parachuted it once. I ground it and tipped a joint with it. I was consuming it every way possible to see how it hit the brain.

It made me want to up the strength. DON'T. Make the adderall work for you, don't be a slave to it.

You may need to take some supplements on it. I recommend one to all, and the other if you are male and having... issues on it. Or female and just feel like your blood circulation is poor.

First: N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine (NALT) Powder When Adderall is working it's basically burning up these two chemicals in your brain. You deplete yourself and you get low mood and irritability. Little bit of this one or twice a day in yogurt or water keeps mood up and irritability down. Works wonders.

Second: Nitric Oxide Supplement with L Arginine, Citrulline Malate, AAKG and Beet Root. Are you a male on Adderall who was suddenly shocked to find you got coke dick? Do you have minor ED symptoms now? Male or female do you have blue tinges of color around toes, fingers, and dick (if a lady, i don't know if any part of your privates will tinge blue, we need a females story to know), but what this is poor blood circulation. Adderal, for whatever fucking reason, slows down or tells the body you don't need as much Nitric Oxide in the body as you do. Low Nitric Oxide, bad blood for doing anything physical from working out, sex, sports, etc. You can get the three ingredients you need as powder supplements too, but I find it easier to take this one in the capsule form. That was the last thing added and so far has fixed the worst of the negative side effects. Everything is now functionally very close to normal and i will take it. lol. It is fascinating stuff really.

I have done sooooo much gorram research on this drug, these supplements, why and how adderall does what it does, etc. It is a miracle drug for bipolar and ADHD. Just know you have to stay in charge of it. Don't abuse it, take breaks when you can, or drop your second pill out of the day when you are good. I have many days where I take 20mg in morning and only 10 or less in afternoon using a pill splitter. Some days I never take the second pill.

I am happy your are going to at least try it and see what it can do for you. It saved my life. I was stable, but so low all the time, never did anything less i was dragged out by friends. I closed myself off from everyone and everything. Now.. I am a social butterfly, sort of, at least compared to old me.

In four short months I have gone from sitting in the dark all day everyday, to going out and about. I have gone to parties without panic attacks or leaving early. I have gone back to loud bars and enjoyed myself. I started putting myself out there sexually again (after adding the Nitric Oxide Supplement) and had the first hook up in a long, long time. I make plans now. I look forward to things. I forgot, before the pill, what it was like to have a brain without suicidal thoughts. (That comes at a cost if you are a gamer, but that is a whole 'nother story). I forgot what it was like to live. Every year i reluctantly lived was agony, and now, I got a match under me. Life is worth living and I am going to fucking enjoy some of it for a change.

As long as you control the adderall and not the other way round, it is a a miracle drug. It can also be a cold hearted mistress if you ignore any warning signs.

I wish you all the best and if you need to talk about anything while on it, let me know. I am here for you.

Benefits? I went from almost falling asleep during the day to bursting out of bed in the morning to still having energy into the evening. Although ZMA (Zinc, Magnesium, B6) has improved my sleep quality 1000% which helps a lot, but I just started taking it regularly recently.

My current daily stack is:

u/o0Panda0o · 3 pointsr/PCOS

I started taking Myo-Inositol along with Vitex and NAC (N-Acetyl L-Cysteine) Powder back August last year. Before starting these, I had very painful heavy periods (needed multiple pads for full coverage) that would last from 10-15 days. I mix 1tsp of Inositol and 1/2 tsp of Vitex and NAC in a store bought smoothie like bolthouse farms Green Goodness or Naked juices. For the first few months I did this 2 times a day, then moved onto 1 time a day. My periods are down to 5-7 days, nowhere near has heavy and very little cramps and pain. I has helped me with evening out my moods as well, no more extreme symptoms of PMS.

Here's what I'm thinking of putting together:

BCAAs (Edit: Just realized this is not vegan friendly)

L-Arginine a-Ketoglutarate

L-Citrulline DL-Malate

N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine

Beta Alanine

Creatine Monohydrate

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Maltodextrin

Waxy Maize

I'm currently using a mix very similar to the above listed ingredients and it works very well!

I would like to just take a pre-mixed powder, but it seems like they all have caffeine, which I'm not a fan of for working out in the evening.

I'm also somewhat interested in Agmatine Sulfate and Phenylethylamine. Anyone have any opinions on those two chemicals?

I know this response is horribly late (and I'm still not sure what typical reddit etiquette is regarding old threads). But here is my (more or less) full list of items I buy from Amazon Japan.

u/CausticSofa · 2 pointsr/BipolarReddit

N-acetyl cysteine seems to be helping me even mitigating for potential placebo effect. It’s had a lot of well-structured, peer-reviewed studies run that point to it being a beneficial addition to managing bipolar. I use this brand because it was approved for me by my psychiatrist since it’s a good dose age size per capsule and a respected brand.

Also eat more oily fish or drink good quality fish oil. Ensure that you’re getting sufficient healthy protein and plenty of darkly colourful vegetables.

A solid diet with healthy proteins, fats, whole grains and veggies with low to no sugar, alcohol, illicit drugs or caffeine will guarantee you pretty much all the nutrients and micronutrients your body actually needs and with decent absorption in your gut, whereas supplements are poorly regulated and may very well not contain anywhere near the amount of active ingredient they claim.

And, all that said, a great diet, even paired with impeccable sleep hygiene, is often not enough to help keep bipolar 1 totally in check. If you’re going to try au naturale then I hope you’re in regular contact (at least 1-2 visits every month) with a psychiatrist or psychologist who can help you objectively monitor your state.

Good luck. Track your progress each day based on what you ate and how you felt on a scale of 1-5 so you can see what actually helps in the long run. Track sleep and exercise, too, if you’re a keener like me.

This is what I'm currently taking: http://www.amazon.com/Spring-Valley-Acetyl-L-Carnitine-Capsules/dp/B00238HJAQ/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1346007091&sr=8-8&keywords=acetyl+carnitine

It has both acetylcarnitine and ALA. I'm pretty sure it's only the ALA that's not dissolving because it's a yellow powder that sits on top of the water.

Is there any form of ALA that would easily dissolve in water?

u/genesurf · 2 pointsr/flu

Yes, you can buy NAC many places.

I bought mine online months ago, so fortunately I had it on hand. This is the exact one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Pure-Encapsulations-N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine-Antioxidant-Capsules/dp/B0029XI2DI

Something can definitely be done. Don't suffer in Silence. Is it while you're on them or when they wear off? Are you eating / exercising / sleeping okay? All those thing can have an effect as well.

Definitely tell your doctor and also defo take the Omegas - they are recommended for kids with adhd (so I presume also adults need them!!)

These are the NAC tablets I was talking about. These are the only ones I've found that combine with the spirulana and other stuff so I'd recommend these over others. Apparently body builders use NAC as well as it helps build muscle as well.as being good for liver and lung function. I've definitely felt better since starting to take this and the Omegas every day.

Cool. Do you remember how much of a dosage you took? (mg)

I'm looking to get 5 hours out of this, not sure how much mg I should take. If you happen to have an idea, would appreciate your input.

No problem at all. I'm glad I could help you out.

If you're interested in purchasing Acetyl L-Carnitine, I'd highly recommend this here. I've got my caffeine and L-Theanine from them and couldn't be happier. However, I'm holding off on Acetyl L-Carnitine, since I personally don't believe it's worth the money for me, since I am starting keto soon.

u/arafey · 2 pointsr/ADHD

I've found NALT (N-acetyl L-tyrosine) works very well. L-tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid usually produced by the body in sufficient quantities. It's the precursor to dopamine and norepinephrine (the two most important neurotransmitters that stimulants affect in the treatment of ADHD). NALT is a form of l-tyrosine that is supposedly more readily absorbed into the bloodstream (most amino acid supplements need to be very carefully taken relative to other meals). I've found that 800mg before bed is perfect: I spring out of bed the next morning without any withdrawal. Every day feels like the first day I took Vyvanse (an amphetamine-based stimulant). Better yet, sometimes I will go without for a couple of days but as long as I take NALT, the withdrawal is barely noticeable. I've found that if I take too much, closer to 1200mg, that I will get some stomach pain and other GI symptoms. Also, I've found that taking it after I wake up substantially reduces its effectiveness. YMMV.

In terms of cost, if you buy it in powder form and follow the dosing instructions, it's very cheap (this is the one I buy): http://www.amazon.com/BulkSupplements-N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine-Powder-grams/dp/B00ENQYI1E/

Good luck

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/StackAdvice

I take this.
Other supplements you may want to look into that may aid in your situation (when you are in the position to expand your stack):

Rhodiola Rosea

Panax Ginseng

Acetyl L-Carnitine

Remember, step one should be adjusting your diet, exercise, and sleep!

Where is the cheapest place to buy TUDCA in pill form? Amazon has this but not sure if there is something cheaper.

edit: I'd get it in powder but I don't have a scale that precise.

No, it’s a supplement you can buy OTC. It’s $10 for 100 pills (so 50 days). Here’s what I bought but there are many brands: Swanson NAC N-Acetyl Cysteine https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F92YLRW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/WeAreFoolsTogether · 1 pointr/MDMA

Just search Amazon...for “N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine”...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ENQYI1E
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013OSJC8

The powder is better because you can control the dosage more precisely, start with a very small dose < 100mg... you take as much as you need to experience a benefit. Supporting neurotransmitter activity is not dependent upon body size, but instead on the degree to which you have symptoms. As a result, determining your dose requires some trial and error. Continue to gradually increase your dose until you notice an improvement in your symptoms. THIS GUIDANCE IS TRUE FOR DOSING ALL NEUROTRANSMITTERS SUPPORT SUPPLEMENTS. FOLLOW IT.

I used Swanson and it's just as good as the NOW I'm on now.

u/AdrenalineJunkySloth · 1 pointr/MDMA

The NAC I bought is from Nutricost on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BK99PGK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I didn't do the 1,200mg per serving suggested. I did 600mg per day instead. Yea, either I'm not taking enough NAC or it just doesn't affect me the same. I'm taking a break on it while I read and study more about it.

EDIT: Also, remember that I have not really tried rolling on a lower dose since NAC. I've been using same dose and I've been floored almost all of the time. I don't know if it's NAC related or something else. So I will also have to try supplementing NAC while reducing the MDMA dosage.

is this the correct alpha lipoic acid??http://www.amazon.com/Bioavailability-Stabilized-Sodium-Salt-Guaranteed-polymerize/dp/B00NAARMIK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427057318&sr=8-2&keywords=Na-R-ALA

and this for the acetyl L-carnitine? http://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-L-carnitine-Featuring-Carnitine/dp/B000NRXO8A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1427057410&sr=8-3&keywords=acetyl+l-carnitine

Just want to make sure I get the correct stuff... Thinking about going for at least the bare essentials you recommended.

Also, what order/dosage would you recommend for these ones? Is it the same as if I was taking the other supplements you recommended? Thinking about adding magnesium (I have teeth grinding problems) and grapeseed extract... How can I maximize those supplements' potentials?
And once again, thank you for your amazingly detailed response!!! :)

Dude, you gotta try NALT! (N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine).

Same story here. Used amphetamines, they helped and I hated them. Marijuana helped me the best.

Then after 7 years of doing this I discovered Tyrosine, and then NALT, a different form of Tyrosine.

NALT wakes my brain up and has me focus effortlessly.

You can find it here for example:

Do not take a b complex vitamin as your main source of b5. You need 10 GRAMS+ not mg of b5 for it to work. I would start at 5 grams and work your way up to the 10 gram dose. If you're worried about the dosage, you can try Dr. Dach's protocol of 750 mg of B5 with 250 mg of L Carnitine three times a day. Though, I would take a b complex daily to maintain your body's stores of other b vitamins. After 1 week, my skin wasn't oily like it used to be, but I still had old cysts/acne from before I started the regiment. After 2 weeks, all my old cysts had healed, and I had no new flare ups/break outs. Right now (3 and a half weeks into my treatment), I have zero acne, just discoloration and some scars from previous break outs. Here are the links to what I bought. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I experience this too. It can be debilitating. My rheum diagnosed me with neuropathic itch (neuropathy) and Rx'd with Gabapentin. It works really well for the itch but I'm experiencing weight gain, bloating and digestive discomfort so coming off of it. My integrative MD gave me a list of supplements to take for nerve related itch so I'm going to try that for awhile instead. Not sure if yours is dermatological or neurological but may be worth bringing up to your doctor. I went to the derm first and she ruled out any allergies or derm issues though and it was a long trial and error process that left me frustrated but then I raised with my rheum and once I started on gaba it went away.

I've also gotten mild relief with this cream: https://www.amazon.com/Cooling-Pain-Relief-Cream-Extract/dp/B07J4XYM1V/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=stono+creek+pain+cream&qid=1569439664&sr=8-1

Yellow gatorade with N-Acetyl L-Cysteine. It does taste like ass so you can get capsules, but the yellow gatorade cuts it really well. Don't get me wrong, it can only do so much, but you'll still be very very surprised at how good you feel.

For those asking "how much do I take of each", from the articles:

  • [1] "Both drugs were administered as a single oral dose of 200 mg kg(-1) body weight 1h before alcohol intake". This would be 16g for a 80kg (175 pound) person, which is a massive amount of these things. In the case of the NAC it would be 26 pills from the Amazon link given later here and since they "contain selenium and molybdenum" you probably want to stick with just pure powdered NAC (Selenium can be pro-oxidative and pro-diabetic in large amounts, no idea about molybdenum).

  • [2] Doesn't say outright, just says how much ALCAR was mixed into the liquid food (2mg/ml).

  • [3] Similarly shows 2g/L of NAC added to a 30% alcohol formula. This one is particularly interesting because it shows improvement in various negative markers caused by alcohol even without abstinence from alcohol.

For both 2 and 3, because only the ALCAR or NAC concentration in the liquid is given and not the liquid consumption, I guess we're forced to assume a similar dosage.
Examine.com has articles on both ALCAR and NAC which interested people should read, and if you're putting something into your body you should be interested in reading about it.

Here's Amazon links for n-acetylcysteine and ALCAR powders from Bulk Supplements -- I've used them before and they seem fine and the prices are very good.

The TLDR of this post is:

  • dosages aren't clear from the 2nd and 3rd articles, but the 1st suggests 200mg/kg bodyweight, which is ~16g for a 175 pound person, of each supplement

  • use a pure form of the supplement rather than one mixed with other things -- for example, the selenium in the capsules linked in this thread can cause problems in high dosages

  • these are single studies so neither they nor this post should necessarily function as advice
