ok, we can work with this. this isn't a big deal, and i'm gonna help you out, assuming you want to be a man of honor and not let a bunch of internet strangers down. Which we all know you won't, right? RIGHT?!

Anywho, you agreed to eat a giant pile of shit. Let's interpret this as, "i will consume feces in some form or fashion". You didn't say YOUR feces, you only said feces.

There is a form of coffee beans that are harvested from the feces of the civet in the Phillippines. The critter consumes these beans, and villagers collect the beans after they have passed through the critter's digestive track. Why? Who the fuck knows. Fortunately for you, these can be purchased on Amazon

Now, some may contend that these coffee does not constitute "a gigantic pile of shit", but I would argue that is semantics and that the beans are themselves feces. It'd be no different that taking the corn kernels from our own feces and brewing up a nasty shit maize tea. And like i said, no where in your wager did you mention it'd be your own shit.

I look forward to watching the video of you drinking coffee.

Expand their horizons. Be creative. Find a local BDSM club and tell them that you joined. Tell them you're thinking of eating edible insects and maybe some Kopi Luwak to drink with them. (It's awful, trust me). See what you can get them to do and have some fun.

I'm currently at work but drinking the same coffee from pic. It's Kicking Horse Kick-Ass Dark Roast.

You don't have to spend that much for good coffee.

You can get a pour over dripper for $12 on Amazon

100 filters for $6

Electric kettle for $12

Manual coffee grinder for $10

Digital scale for $10

That's $50 for gear, (you can probably pick up some of that even cheaper if you look around) and then you can spend what you want on beans. I'm really into Stumptown coffee right now, which is $18 for 12oz. but you can definitely go a little cheaper or a lot more expensive depending on your tastes.

You can spend as much as you want making coffee, but I haven't noticed a discernible difference between coffee from that setup and coffee from a $500ish setup. A large part of what makes a cup of pour over good is the skill level of the person pouring it, and there's no reason to spend more than $75-$100 on gear until you reach a point where you know for sure your bottleneck is your equipment. I've been making my own coffee this way (as well as french press and espresso) for a few years and I still don't feel like I need to upgrade.

EDIT: Ignore the scale I linked, refer to /u/throwswithfats comment below instead.

I drink mostly decaf for health reasons so I try a lot of different ones.

I’m enjoying Kicking Horse Decaf right now. I buy the beans online right from Amazon and grind myself. It’s a dark roast. It’s definitely affordable.

There’s another good one on Amazon called
No Fun Jo that is a bit more expensive but still affordable. This one is a medium dark roast. I haven’t had it in a while, but the blueberry notes really came through as I recall.

Happy Mug has a few options and they’ve grown on me. I just got their Sumatra to try...

Hope it helps!

u/Jkim3691 · 4 pointsr/coldbrew

It has to be like Stok? Stok isn't very good in my opinion and 6 hours to brew is too short. Even the 10 hours Stok's claims to brew is too short. Just buy a mason jar, pour grounds in and fill with water. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 18 hours. Buy an extra fine reusable filter and use that to filter out the grounds.

Here's what I use:

I use these grounds and love it:

Costco beans are too dark, even the "medium" ones. Got Prime? Amazon Fresh Roast light beans are decent and under $1/oz. No roast date though.

Options in the top comment are great as well.

EDIT: $1/oz, not /lb. >_<

Amazon "Just Bright" (closer to medium than light really) @ $.48/oz

Amazon Rwanda Light Roast (SO) @ $.66/oz

u/nipsip · 3 pointsr/Coffee

Try Cafe Cubano from Mayorga Organics. I like it better than Bustelo and it's organic and fair trade.

u/equalize47 · 3 pointsr/Coffee

I've grown fond of a couple of Amazon Fresh roasts.

Rwandan light roast
AmazonFresh Direct Trade Rwanda Whole Bean Coffee, Light Roast, 12 Ounce (Pack of 3)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071GNCB39/

AmazonFresh Organic Fair Trade Sumatra Whole Bean Coffee, Dark Roast, 12 Ounce (Pack of 3) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071K8FDKR/

The dark roast holds up better but is a little more expensive.

Starbucks/Peet's frequently get down to $5/bag around here. While it's not what you are asking for... I find that in that price range they deliver a consistent taste.

I've had mixed results from the Safeway stuff, their private reserve has had one type that was good but the beans didn't hold up so by the end of the week, the flavor was flat and then another that tasted like stale cardboard from the getgo.

u/Eric_Zion · 3 pointsr/Coffee

You'll want to try and look at some blends. Blends mix a variety of different beans, depending on the season, to try and emulate the same taste throughout the year. Most roasters have a consistent blend that's on offering full time and they almost all have a subscription available on their website.

My brother is pretty of fond of the medium roast from Kicking Horse Coffee called Smart Ass. Kicking Horse distributes online via Amazon and you can subscribe for monthly orders (and receive a discount). You can find the blend here: Smart Ass. I've enjoyed their dark roast for espressos as well.

Hope that helps! As others have mentioned, if you stumble across a local roaster and coffee shop, definitely ask questions and see if they have something available. Exploration of coffee is awesome.

u/blackemptiness · 3 pointsr/toronto

They have a bunch of premium roasts. They are either French Press or Siphon. The $28 is Blue Mountain beans from Jamaica. it's $46 for 1 pound on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Jamaica-Blue-Mountain-Certified-Roasted/dp/B000F9FHDQ

u/Crossfitandcoffee · 3 pointsr/TryingForABaby

I've been going half-caf til I get my bfp. I'm mixing my usual dunkin with this. It's whole bean though, so you may need a grinder if you go that route. It has a mild undertone of something delicious (they say blueberry and chocolate, but it tastes like some other mysterious combo to me). Before TTC, I pretty much mainlined caffeine (hence the username), but this is an acceptable middle ground for me.

u/LaLocaChristina · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Ok, so first off I am not entering but wanted to share a crazy coffee related product: Black Blood of the Earth!

Here is the mad scientist that is behind its story. Basically it is extracted coffee. It has all the flavor notes of coffee without any of the bitterness and is super caffeinated. Personally I like the darker versions because they have a much stronger taste. My favorite is actually Death Wish but you can't drink much because it is really strong.

Clearly I specifically have a caffeine problem but if you are looking for bean recommendations try Kicking Horse, 454 Horse Power

u/Take42 · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Oh god, that kind is so good. I usually prefer fresher coffee, but I can't even argue with those doughnut shop cups. As for coffees that are available on Amazon, I like Kicking Horse's Kick-Ass coffee. It is bold yet refreshing. It has great flavor that isn't quite overwhelming... Plus it's cheap, and available in grocery stores, along with being fair-trade certified, which is always nice. :P I think if you like the doughnut shop coffee you'll like it.

u/Kasarii · 2 pointsr/The_Donald

I have been buying Kicking Horse Coffee beans for awhile now. They taste great and come a lot more fresh than the stuff that sits on the grocery store shelves.

If you really want better tasting coffee, I'd suggest going whole bean and getting an electric grinder.

Also if you like cream if your coffee, don't use that fake dairy Coffee Mate stuff. A carton of 1/2 and 1/2 or Heavy Cream(Whipping Cream) tastes so much better due to how the fat in the milk blends with the coffee.

u/Aeoles · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Congrats on the new job!

I found something you may like by looking at your wishlist, Coffee!

For the thing I would like Pens are always a fun thing I love.

Kicking horse decaf is great!

I think the brand makes a big difference.

Stone Street Coffee Cold Brew Reserve Colombian Single Origin Coarsely Ground Coffee - 1 lb. Bag - Dark Roast https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HFK955I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_R1wCDb3A5VKB8

Is my favorite so far.

u/TheSausageKing · 2 pointsr/Coffee

The have stumptown hairbender for $15/ bag and amazon prime free shipping.

u/ModeratelyHastyApple · 1 pointr/keto

You can find them on Amazon, Walgreens, Walmart, Rite-aid, basically a number of places, but the flavors vary. Searching for them on Amazon you can be picky and get what you want, but the prices there are a bit higher. Search your local stores for your pick, if not, Amazon-order those things because they're delicious.

Haberno BBQ and Coconut-roasted are my recommendations. ;)

u/LizziPizzo · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

They do have whole bean :)

http://amzn.com/B006CNTR6W

This is the one I had, and it does taste really good

u/YoungWhippershnapper · 1 pointr/coldbrew

Stone street cold brew. Pricey, but probably the best cold brew I’ve made. https://www.amazon.com/Stone-Street-Coffee-Colombian-Coarsely/dp/B01HFK955I

If your on a budget, Trader Joe’s has really cheap coffees that are good. I forget which ones good, I think it had a big Tucan bird on it.

u/fonduman · 1 pointr/Coffee

It looks to be roasted ok, I think I just overextracted it due to a full 4 minute extraction on too fine a grind. I always thought the 4 minute rule a bit strange in that I noticed a better result closer to 2 minutes, but I wanted to do things by the book when I first got the new coffee. Might make sense in hindsight.

This is the product I bought:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006TIFGHE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/TheCryptic · 1 pointr/cafe

I've had a couple whole bean coffees from Amazon that were decent, Cafe Don Pablo medium-dark Earth organic and Kicking Horse Kick Ass were both pretty good... But I do tend to prefer locally roasted stuff, fresher is always better.

I do still get Italian pre-ground coffees on Amazon (Lavazza and Illy for my Moka pot, it uses to much for me to want to grind by hand), but not generally whole bean. Much of it is really not any different than picking up Starbucks or 8 O'clock in a grocery store to me. My brother even served some Sam's Club organic that was pretty good out of a French press... Though this conversation is a lot like religion to some folks, and many would disagree. Try different coffees and see what works for you, everyone has different tastes and standards.

u/Anikando · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Well, the sugar plums (mentioned in Cellophane_Girl's reply thread on this post) were pretty awesome.

I would say my favorite thing to get from there is probably Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans. Here's a link to them - so smooooooth, best coffee I've ever tried!

What do you enjoy primarily buying there, food or otherwise?

u/MikeWaz0wski · 1 pointr/Coffee

For getting my daily caffeine fix, I like Kicking Horse 454 Horsepower via Amazon Subscription

It's not always the freshest beans, but the $/lb is ok and has good flavor. I make this daily, mix with a bit of heavy cream to drop some of the bitterness, and get good dose of caffeine with one cup.

I usually buy a small bag or two of fresh-roast local beans to make in my Aeropress when I really want to savor the brew process and flavor ... or make cold-brew.

u/Tyrant-i · 1 pointr/Coffee

Really good and smooth

The Odinforce is the raw power of Yggdrasil, the tree of life!

DLPA is actively transported across the blood-brain barrier. The active transport channel used for this transports phenylated compounds. This is why i.e. Phenibut (phenylated Gamma-Aminobutylacetate) hits you ridiculously hard (and with severe withdraw), while straight GABA does nothing. These compounds compete for transport, and so i.e. Phenylalanine will interfere with absorption of Tryptophan.

Phenylpiracetam is phenylated piracetam, and has a phenyl group sticking off one end. It's carried across the blood-brain barrier by the same active transport as DLPA, Tryptophan, Phenibut, and so on. So they'll compete.

Kicking Horse - Smart Ass. Medium roast. Brewed with chemex and aeropress. I found it very pleasant, almost no offensive flavors. Some friends commented it tasted "weak" or "tea like", another claimed it tasted like "dirt" (as in an earthy flavor). I've been experimenting with the dose on my aeropress but so far I like it better with the chemex.

Big Bend Coffee - Davis mountain blend. Vienna roast. Brewed with press pot, aeropress, chemex and moka pot. I found this blend to be too flavorful. The earthy flavor came across too strong for my taste. Also a very smoky flavor (I would say it's roasted medium-dark). In the moka pot it was very good. I probably wouldn't buy it again though. I picked up another blend from this roaster (Big Blend of Texas), hopefully it will be better.

Mayorga Organics Cafe Cubano Dark... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HSRNHHG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

They're cheap and don't taste too bad

Instead of eating shit, you could just have a nice steaming cup of Civet coffee.

u/NextGenWarrior · 1 pointr/Fitness

Sounds like a plan! I may just save some cash and get some of this instead of the preworkout.

I have heard amazing things about the original coffee from the Death Wish Coffee company. Here is another coffee by them.

u/dty06 · 1 pointr/sysadmin

I'd like to take a minute and recommend Two Volcanoes Coffee

u/wtc99 · 1 pointr/Coffee

stone street , they have some great cold brew beans for an affordable price

u/FavoriteActorDennehy · 1 pointr/Coffee

Well I have had an opposite experience than the current comments in this thread. I like the Happy Belly Breakfast Blend which is described as both Medium and Medium Light. My bag has a roasted on date and it cost less than $6 for my last 12oz wholebean bag.

Seems like a decent risk to take.

If you check on Amazon (which is where I've ordered a lot of my stuff that didn't come from my parents holidays) they sell it for £8.81/100g

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jamaica-Blue-Mountain-Coffee-Beans/dp/B006TIFGHE

All the other listings are here https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=jamaican+blue+mountain&i=grocery&crid=2QVEBHSRD2JTJ&sprefix=Jamaican+Blu%2Cgrocery%2C135&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

They do sell a black 'premium' bag if you visit but I don't think it's sold globally. Really nice coffee tho, it's cheap-ish enough that you can kinda use it once a day and not feel terrible while also being not as expensive that it's one of those coffees you only use on 'rare occasions'
