I have one on both sides, I glance in it, lean forward and to the side a bit before I change lanes, just to make sure no one is in the corner. Between those three mirrors, and a bit of movement in the seat, I have almost no blindspots to my side. That said, the gray car to my left in the image is visible in all three mirrors, if they were a bit farther forward they wouldn't be in my plane mirror though.
You might be able to buy a "universal" one, like this, though the reviews on that model aren't particularly good.
I use these guys and really like them. Easy to install, sturdy, and adjustable enough. My only complaint while towing is that with these attached sometimes the entire mirror blows in. I need to figure out how to tighten it up.

I bought 2015 mirrors for my red 07.5 dmax and it looked great, the wide angle was far superior to the kind you are looking at (stock ~40degrees, 2015 ~170 degrees) off amazon for around $270. I don't remember the brand but they were plug and play except for the work lights. I highly recommend them, you'll get a nice clean look and the wide angle really is astounding compared to 2012 tow mirrors. I posted a review also.

Sorry for your loss. I now the feeling. Had somebody smash into my mirror on my 07 last year. Competely obliterated the thing in front of my own house, and they couldn't be bothered to knock on my door or leave a note.
Here are power mirrors for $108. There is a manual version for $85.
Also, here are competely manual mirrors, but with turn signal, clearance lights, & defrost for $145.
I did 2008 mirrors from amazon, they fit fine but I did have to cut a small plastic tab off. I haven’t tried to wire them up yet because I’m a lazy bastard. Amazon Mirrors on my truck

Good point, there really is no substitute for looking back. If you really want to, i bet you could still fit something like this 2" by 2" stick on mirror in case your local laws require you to have mirrors.
I bought a cheap pair off of Amazon and they are ok but not great I am probably going to get the oem replacement mirrors in a few months but they are a little pricy.

The only thing i'm not a big fan of is that they have a slight upward angle instead of being perpendicular to the vehicle.
