I used two of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Accent-Lighting-Blue-USB-powered/dp/B007TG5ECW

I bought Quartz Fairy Crystal Clusters, which sometimes come with very opaque bases, so I bought a decent amount more than I needed to make sure I'd got enough good, clear ones.

Then, I just went to a craft shop and constructed a trough out of Balsa wood.

Edit: Forgot a word...

If your TV has USB ports, you can try something like this or this

u/treiz · 5 pointsr/livesound

we started getting some of these https://www.amazon.com/Mudder-Portable-Flexible-Dimmable-Computer/dp/B00MIQUJQ4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1486777354&sr=8-4&keywords=usb+light+dimmable

we put a little usb hub up on the doghouse so we can plug in a couple of them. works great

There are a few options for easy lighting:

  • LED fans (example)
  • LED strips (example)
  • NZXT HUE (if it ever comes back in stock)

Those are all pretty straightforward. Fans just install where you've got fans, strips either go on the monitor, keyboard, or outside/inside the edges of the case. Hue is similar to the strips but is powered internally.

You can get a little more complex with things like Cold Cathode tubes.

Have not done it yet myself have been looking into it. Saw it on a friend's system and our looked great Amazon

u/aaaaasdfghjkl · 4 pointsr/battlestations

I liked the looks of it when I saw it in OPs post so I looked it up myself. The reviews have a couple videos that show its light levels fairly well! Might get the lamp myself.

u/Whocifer · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

It's a cute little light. I think I may buy one now.

u/Xey210 · 3 pointsr/flashlight

It's a USB light plugged into a powerbank, like these.

u/pbewig · 3 pointsr/vandwellers

Both of the products that you mentioned look over-priced and over-specified.

If you limit yourself to 5V USB I recommend a 75 watt-hour battery ($37) for its dual inputs; it charges twice as fast as a normal battery. That should be sufficient to charge two cell phones, a small lamp ($4) and a fan ($17). You can charge the battery from a wall outlet, with a cigarette lighter USB adapter ($10), or with a small solar panel ($100).

You might prefer a Luci light ($15) to the lamp mentioned above; it charges itself from the sun and won't consume any of your battery capacity.

If you need 12 volts, I recommend a 185 watt-hour battery ($130), which will also charge a laptop computer. It recharges from a wall outlet, or you can use a 150 watt inverter ($24) from your cigarette lighter.

Specs: i5 3570k, Gigabyte 7970 xfire w/ Sapphire 7950, 128 gb Samsun 840 ssd, 1tb WD HD. A shit ton of corsair fan's I bought off my buddy for a 24 pack of beer. The Hyper 212 makes a comeback cuz my Zalman lq320with its really fat radiator wouldn't fit in the top intake fan spot. It hit the 140mm mounted on the roof. And I didn't like how it crowded the Gpu's in the other two spots.

Like I said in the imgur comments, there are still a lot of small upgrades I'm planning on doing. The big gaping holes under the two hd bays are very annoying. Does anyone have any experience with Demciflex? they sell a dust filter kit specifically for the 540.

Also, any one have a suggestion to better light this guy? I bought these Antec led lighting strips but they're usb powered and I didn't realize the 540 doesn't have water cooling holes in the back. I was looking at the NZXT Hue earlier today, they seem really interesting.

And I need a fan controller that fits in a single 5.25 bay and looks decent mounted sideways.

Edit: just wanted to add that I was very happy with the quality of this product. I've always been a sub $100 cheap case user and using this corsair case was an eye opener. My only complaint is that I actually would have spent a little bit more for just a few small additions. (Air filters for all the vents comes to mind)

It’s called “BenQ Screenbar” and you can get it from Amazon. I really like it. It has varies level of brightness, ambient light sensor, no glare on the monitors.

I was looking at these for awhile because they're USB powered but I never ended up buying them

I suggest plugging a dual-usb adapter into the port in the cubby, using one side for your cable and the other side for this—USB Simple Portable Color... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D37ZQ5G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Let there be light!

u/revmamacrystal · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I've been interviewed for a Geek Magazine, I held a Wine and Cheesy Sci-Fi Party and I got a spot on a panel at Phoenix Comic to speak about Geek Weddings.

I can haz need light

u/Bring_Napkins · 2 pointsr/buildapc

As for lighting around your workspace, I just picked these up today: Antec Bias Lighting can be placed behind your monitor to give it a white glow which is supposedly good for your eyes, and Antec Advance Accent are LED strips that come in red/blue.

Set-up is very easy as they're both USB-powered. Just plug it in and turn on the switch on the cable.

u/wormwired · 2 pointsr/secretsanta

I go to lots of LAN parties. Things that pc gamers like are Keyboard cleaners

and Compressed air as getting rid of dust is essential to a gaming pc. USB lights are fun Like this
or This

I would suggest avoiding gaming mouse or headphones as those can depend greatly on a persons prefrence. Some people prefer over the head some people prefer buds. Some prefer Claw mouse some prefer palm. A keyboard is a keyboard.

This is pretty awesome

Great contest by the way! Welcome back!

u/ertihan · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

It's a lamp! Specifically, it's this one.

u/EllaTheCat · 1 pointr/thinkpad

There are little USB strip lights and these things you can hack something together with.

u/shoryaku · 1 pointr/battlestations

which ones? Used these and this for my blue monitor ones but the consoles have color change strips from Ikea (this one).

u/ChrisSwires · 1 pointr/vinyl

They're just two of these plugged into a powered usb hub.

u/greywolf928 · 1 pointr/battlestations

The lamp is the OxyLED Smart L120, found here.

u/Intellz · 1 pointr/battlestations

It's an OxyLED Lamp I got off of Amazon. It's about $50. I love it.

u/WhattheNorris · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I've found a number of items but I'd only want the pens. If anyone wants to take the nail tape or glue or light for their own I don't mind :) All true prices with free shipping

u/Dragonstomp · 1 pointr/battlestations

Didn't really use a guide. Just bought a pair of Antec Advance Accent Lighting Blue USB-powered 6 LED Strip's off amazon. :)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007TG5ECW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They have double sided tape and attach to the back of whatever you want to attach em to. USB powered so nothing to wire up either.

I have the same situation, which you can witness on my last stream. The sun came out and was showing through the green screen. I had other syncing cam/audio issues which I have fixed since in my latest scenario testing offline.

Anyways, the way which I have tested and will be combating this same issue I bought a USB LED Reading Light from Amazon to face me and dark curtains for my window to block the sun. Not sure what wattage light bulbs you are using, but make sure it is 100 watt bulbs or 23 watts cfl which is the energy saving bulbs

If you can add in an extra 2 bucks or so, each of these as USB back lighting for your monitor would be awesome:

This weekend I ran a 5k through our local zoo. It was splendid, but I only got to see Mr. Lion. I was sad I didn't get to say hello to my friends Mr. Giraffe and Mr. Otter, but I'm sure they are doing well.

Here is an item fulfilling the requirements. I am jealous of your beach time. Was it sunny and perfect or did any bad weather creep in on your good time?

u/MDJT_Dan · 1 pointr/vjing

I painted right onto the console, but it was a light grey to begin with. Just guessing, I think a white base polish would work better because that's what a top layer nail polish is made for.

Glow in the dark polish definitely looks cooler, but a USB gooseneck lamp is also worth considering.

u/newsINcinci · 1 pointr/AlphaSmart

Any single LED light works fine.

But this works well too: Mudder Portable USB Flexible Stick Dimmable Touch Switch LED White Light Lamp for Laptop Computer PC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIQUJQ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3XXwDb59RG5RB

If you think you might want more light, this is a good option, but at high settings it draws more power than I would like.

There are also USB keyboard lights for those who need light in one-off situations but don't want to constantly deal with OS based backlight mechanisms.

u/Gibodean · 1 pointr/wyzecam

Hmm, maybe this flexible thing will work?

https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B06XCH5LYD/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?th=1

It would have to be shining over the top of the camera perhaps. I'd prefer the sides, but this might work.

It says "Maximum Power: 2.5 watts", so 0.5A, should be ok from the camera....
