I come from a Lebanese family and I absolutely love our rose flavored desserts! I've loved them so much that I try to incorporate it into some of my favorite American foods. I like making this simple syrup: http://foodtasia.com/atar-rose-water-syrup-qater/ You can drizzle it on pancakes, baklava, and use it as a finish for many desserts (you could easily use it as a glaze on top of your tart). This recipe might help you: https://www.afairerhouse.com/kitchen/2017/10/20/apple-rosewater-tart Just for fun, this is my favorite cake ever using rose water, I just made it this weekend: https://www.teaforturmeric.com/2016/12/lebanese-banana-cake-yogurt-rose-water/ We also have these fantastic sweets called malban that usually incorporate rose water into them, I found this description online: http://www.tasteofbeirut.com/lebanese-candies-malban/ You'll often see the pistachio-rose combination being used often in our culture. Out of the three you mention, we usually only use the rose water for baking purposes. As for rose syrup, we use that in a drink! We pour a couple tablespoons of rose syrup with some cold water and ice and drink that to cool off on a summer day. Hope this helps! An apple rose tart sounds delicious and would definitely be a great combo!

EDIT: I should also mention, my favorite rose water brand to use is Cortas! https://www.amazon.com/Cortas-Rose-Water-1-Count/dp/B00V8TRZG4

Which ones do you use? I haven't tried any yet but all the reviews on Amazon are pretty negative.

I've been buying [flavored water (not bubbly)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004NNEYUC
) and mixing a little in with each liter of water that I carbonate. I stretch a 16oz bottle across 3 liters (3 sodastream bottles full). The results are tasty but it's kind of ridiculous, considering I bought the sodastream so I could stop buying bottled water.

If you just want the black color, you might want to look at blk water. It just has black coloring and is supposed to be tasteless.

It's a trendy thing right now. It's all-natural, or at least that's the gimmick. My company stocks it and probably pays less in bulk, but at the supermarket it's $1.99. Just looked it up, and you can get a 12-pack for $17.37 on Amazon, not including shipping and tax. Link Peach is my favorite, but that's $2 a bottle even on Amazon. Peach

People are saying tea, but the red you'll get from that is likely not going to match a Spanish red if it has no caffeine.

I'd say start with a hibiscus tea and darken it with this:

This water is great for this effect.

You can buy it on Amazon. Only $50 a case.

u/Aphthite · 3 pointsr/Baking

You can get it through Amazon (the one I have is Cortas); just make sure you get one for cooking purposes, not beauty!

I always thought it would be pretty cool to roll up to a metal show and start selling these for like ten bucks. Kids'd eat em up

Nestle Splash is the best. It only uses natural flavoring, and there is none of the syrupy taste from Gatorade or powerade, just as refreshing as water. I love the orange flavor. It's not overly sweet either.

About $2.99 and you can buy a 12 pack on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DXBM4NF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3EqRDbBNVEAJ2

If you have any middle Eastern store around you, you should be able to find it by the gallon jug! Alternatively: this or this

To be safe, buying a new bottle regularly seems like the best course of action. Fortunately the cooking rose water is very, very cheap ($5-8 for 10oz): https://www.amazon.com/Cortas-Rose-Water-Product-Lebanon/dp/B00V8TRZG4/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1474137424&sr=8-1&keywords=cortas+rose+water

You could probably filter something you know is contaminated and cultivate it in chicken broth or something in a warm area of your house and see if anything grows. With controls, obviously. It wouldn't be conclusive or anything. I work in a lab and I've always been kind of curious about testing my 2+ year old Sawyer against a new one. Maybe I'll grab a couple expired sterility test bottles..

Or you could just go spend $30 on a new one.

On that note: Every year my boss has us help out kids doing science fair projects and one girl wanted to test different waters for bacteria. This stuff blk beverages Spring Water Infused with Fulvic Acid, 16.9 Ounce (Pack of 12) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CMQCM9C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_LA9OCbWN7R7GD BLOOMED. Every single bottle we got had so much bacterial growth. We didn't genotype it or anything, since everything we do for them is very basic, but I would 100% avoid this brand

You're so solid on adjectives, I assumed you knew how paragraphs work. Sorry for the assumption. Paragraphs group thoughts together. There is a second, a third and even a fourth sentence in that first reply.

You're still using kobe beef and water when they are terrible comparisons. You don't seem to have any kids (and I'm thinking you're really young). If a demographic uses something, they are most always a target for its marketing. Kids Water

Feminine hygiene products are specifically used for vaginas and periods. Soap isn't specifically used for that. Dial Soap is advertised as a women's product, though. It's also a pretty terrible comparison. You must be a fan.

If you want to assume adjectives mean more than they do, that's on you. I don't particularly care.

So you may be able to find this in a grocer (likely in the organic or health food section), but this is one of my favorite drinks that has been discontinued locally. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FK8NWD2/?coliid=IZERGQ0EJUWJM&colid=317435MLGJ0BY&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

It is rosewater with lemon, and it's so so refreshing.

Here you can get it from Amazon Pantry for 1.50 for 6, or 6 dollars for 24. Having it delivered by the six packs means you would save money and not have to store it.

If you are trying to get the same flavor, you should start by reading the ingredients. First off, it does not say lemon, but natural flavors and citric acid. It is very likely that Nestle is using a cheaper source of citric acid then lemons, you can get 5lbs of it on ebay for 14 bucks. Throw some lemon in too, for "natural flavor". Next I would probably add sucralose, an artificial sweetener. A popular brand is Splenda. You may want to do a quick search for sucralose, most pages writing about it are not debating the best brand but the actual safety of the product. There are 2 other ingredients that are preservatives that may or may not be part of the flavor, as well as 2 ingredients that I cannot identify, pronounce, or guess the function of. These are likely a contributing factor in mouth feel and texture, as well as a subtle bit of flavor.

Good on you for trying to cut out sugary drinks, but keep in mind that tricking your insulin with artifical sweeteners like the sucralose in Nestle Lemon Water will lower your metabolism over time and contribute to weight gain. Try water with lemon with a bit of honey or maple, sugars that are slightly more complicated to break down and therefore do not turn into fat as quickly.

I mostly wing it, lol. The rose waterrose water is food grade, and I like adding about 1/3 volume distilled water or it seems a little overwhelming- not stinging, just the scent and flavor. The vegetable glycerin is also food grade, I basically mix up the rose water/distilled water and add small dollops of glycerin which I shake and test until I like the feel.

All ingredients are inexpensive enough that I don’t worry about wasting it. The key difference between my homemade version vs the one I see commercially is that there are no essential oils added, it tends to irritate my EXTREMELY sensitive skin.

In addition, I find it to be less drying than HA if left alone on my skin. With HA, I must immediately add an occlusive (squalane for me, it’s the only thing that doesn’t trigger milia on my fussy face). I also like using my homemade mist as a body spray, sometimes alone, sometimes with squalane or argan oil over it.

Caveat - I do not wear any makeup, so not sure how well it would play with foundation etc. I do use sunscreen, either Anessa Mild Milk or Canmake Mermaid UV and both work fine, no weird pilling etc.

Its not like lavender, just a very light mild tasting flower juice

How do you describe the taste of a flower?
Unless you're a bee i think this is gonna be difficult

Oh yeah I have never seen it in person but I've seen it posted on here and other places online. Supposedly it has some sort of mineral or some shit that makes it "more healthy" or some bullshit. I would probably try it just for kicks some time if it were available and not so expensive. I actually just pulled it up Amazon its called blk and has Fulvic Acid which makes it black. Its 45 bucks for a 24 pack so really not that expensive I guess compared to any other bottled water. The description is
>"Our proprietary blend of fulvic acid (a derivative of plant matter) is mined from an 80 million year old source deep within the earth. Naturally black in color, the formula binds to the molecules of our pure Canadian spring water giving blk its signature black color, with no artificial dyes, coloring, or additives. Fulvic acid is critical in the growth of plant life, helping the transportation and absorption of nutrients. Fulvic acid's small molecular structure allows for the fast absorption of over 77 different trace minerals and elements, powerful electrolytes, and antioxidants. "

It sounds like a bunch of buzzwords and doesn't really have any benefits besides looking cool but I understand with a product like bottled water the need to differentiate is vital especially since its pretty hard to stand out from the crowd with something people can get essentially for free from the tap.

Coloring water black and sticking it in a new bottle makes it more expensive. look at this shit

This one time I put a bit of this in my bong for water. It was lovely~ I got a bottle at a from my local health food store, but you can also use spearmint oil in normal water!

I don't think vanilla will do anything...It tastes nothing like it smells!
