If you are interested in the story I would recommend getting Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary first in order to get an idea of what Halo is about. It is basically the first Halo game, Halo: Combat Evolved, but remastered for the Xbox 360 on its 10 year anniversary. It has the entire first game's campaign and a multiplayer portion using the engine from Halo: Reach (we'll get to that in a moment).

If you are still interested in the story, go for Halo 2 next. It is for the original Xbox, but is also compatible with the 360 so you can play the campaign. It no longer has online multiplayer, though, so it is only good for local custom games and the campaign.

If you purchased Halo 2 you are probably interested enough in the Halo universe to continue the Master Chief's story. The next game will be Halo 3. Halo 3 is a great game and still has online multiplayer, though it is fairly sparse right now.

Note: Halo 3 will become available for free download on July 1st if you have Xbox Live Gold.

Halo 4 is the next game in line that follows the story of the Master Chief, however, there are two other games that were released between them.

Halo 3:ODST is one of these two games. It takes place during the events of Halo 2, but you play as a normal soldier rather than the Master Chief who is a Spartan. Spartans are basically supersoldiers. Normal humans who were augmented to be faster, stronger, and smarter than normal people. It is a fun game and comes with the Halo 3: ODST campaign and a second disc that contains all the multiplayer maps for Halo 3 which allows you to play Halo 3 online.

The other game is Reach. In Halo: Reach you play as a Spartan supersoldier, but not the Master Chief. This game takes places chronologically before the first Halo game, Halo: CE, but was released in 2010. It still has a decent multiplayer population, but I am not sure if is more than Halo 4.

The final game is Halo 4, the newest in the series. It follows the story of the Master Chief after Halo 3, and I believe it has the most populated multiplayer as of right now. Though, the numbers are still fairly low compared to other shooter games out there. This will be the game you will want if you are only interested in online play.

actually as far as halo 2 goes, they released a retail copy of the Mutliplayer maps and the 1.5 patch so its not like its lost.

You're probably playing pre-patch Halo 2. There was a patch that increased melee damage, making the BXR a one-hit kill.

You can get the patch from the H2 Multiplayer Map Pack, which you can probably find pretty cheap at a local used game store. Or, if you can find an old Xbox or 360 that played Halo 2 back when it was on XBL, it probably has the patch installed.

Also, only the host Xbox needs to have the patch, so you only need to get the patch onto one of the Xboxes.

but anyway, ok pc is "better" for FPS. for 3rd person action games and racing games console gamers would destroy pc gamers. there are pros and cons to both sides.

I'd suggest playing it on your original xbox, since the 360 uses an emulator it can get pretty glitchy sometimes. Plus this way you can pick up your game!

I know people prefer PC to play these kinds of games but honestly I thought the menu system on the xbox was much better (less clunky) but it's probably just personal preference.

when I was a kid my older brother had saved up and bought the original xbox. sometimes he would let me play halo with him and I thought it was the best thing ever. one day I asked if I could play while he was at work and he told me no. so I hid his wallet on him and allowed him to believe he lost it for a week. he ended up having to reschedule his road test for his license because of it.

You can play Halo 2 online it is just not through official servers anymore. But you can make DNS changes and use Xlink Kai for the XBOX and other older consoles to play online games.

I took my PS2's cable and shaved the bits on the end to fit into the original Xbox power slot. Worked like a dream. Also, old box fan cables did the trick back in the day.

Otherwise, it's not expensive on Amazon. for the non recall version at least.

I honestly wouldn't worry about using the recall version vs the standard. The worst thing that could happen is that your power supply inside the Xbox itself gets fried which isn't really a big deal. You can replace those somewhat easily, and there's an absurdly small chance that it'll actually happen.

Star Wars Battlefront I loved this game at friend's houses but never had the right console for it!

Steel Battalion I picked this up new for $25 when the local Gamecrazy closed down. I haven't opened it, nor do I plan on doing so.

Mass Effect Limited Edition It cannot be worth $2000, but from what I understand these are hard to come by. I have two, one opened and one closed. I paid $10 apiece.

The other things I have are mostly imports that are Mega Man/Rockman related.

It gets kind of laggy near the end of the extended game. I don't recommend playing it through the 360's emulator.

My favorite game ever is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

The story is absolutely amazing and has one of the most iconic moments in gaming history. The gameplay is really fun and the leveling system is great. Best of all? You can play it right now on your phone! A fully functional port is available on both Android and iOS. It can be purchased for 10 bucks but I'll tell you if you get the Amazon app store it's often given away for free. So you can play it on the go! I can't recommend it more.

I disagree but respect your opinion. I think that MW3 is the most balanced game to date. It is evident that you know little about this game. What makes you a qualified expert on this subject matter?
