I've only made canna caps a few times so I'm still tweaking things but here's what I've got so far.

Ingredients:

• 1oz bud - your choice of strain.

• 8oz (1 cup) coconut oil or butter. I prefer coconut oil.

• 1.5tb soy lecithin

Directions:

Pre-heat your oven to 215° F.

Chop up your herb finely.

You can grind it but I've found it's easier to strain if chopped.

Sprinkle evenly into a small oven safe dish.

Cover well with aluminum foil, crimping up around the edges.

Place in oven for 30-45 minutes.

After 30-45 minutes, remove the dish and let it cool, WITH the foil still on. Letting it cool down slowly, allows any vapors to settle back into the material (theoretically).

Note: for the extraction process I prefer a Nesco 6-Quart Roaster Oven. I prefer this over a crock pot because it has temp control.
I used this in combination with a Digital Cooking Thermometer which comes in handy not only for more accuracy but also because you can set an alarm on it if the temp gets too high - in which case you'd just add some water to the mixture.

While you wait for the container to cool, Melt your coconut oil or butter in a pan on low heat.

Once cool, remove the foil lid from the pan and place the decarbed herb into the roaster/crock pot.

Pour enough distilled water over the herb to float it, then add the oil or butter over your herb and stir it up.

Set the temperature between 200 and 220 Fahrenheit and let cook for 12-18 hours, stirring occasionally.
Note: this step is where that digital thermometer with temperature alarm comes in particularly useful. Set it and forget it.

After 12-18 hours turn off heat and and strain the oil from the herb using a stainless steel mesh strainer, pouring the extract into a class or ceramic dish.
Note: I prefer a steel strainer but it's possible to use cheesecloth. Coffee filters do not work. Also, I don't throw away the herb. I let it dry as much as possible, grind it finely and put it in capsules also.

Place dish in refrigerator over night or until the oil or butter has hardened.

Once solid, separate oil/butter from the water, discarding the water.

Place solid extract in an oven safe dish and heat at low temp until liquid.

Once liquid, add 1.5tb of soy lecithin to the extract and stir gently until homogenized.

You now have cannabis extract ready to be used for cooking or for filling capsules.

Here are some things that I used that may help you.

Size 00 Capsule Holding Tray

Soy Lecithin Powder - 1 Lb

Hope this helps. Happy cooking :)

Swallow pills with drink of choice.
Keep in fridge because you used butter. If you ever branch out to Tincture or Coconut oil, you can keep at room temp.

5 ml is for 50 gallons

1 ml is for 10 gallons

1/2 ml is for 5g

1/4 ml for 2.5g

1/8 ml for 1.25g

I use a syringe (without the needle) to measure it.
You can also use calibrated pipettes for small dosing. You can rinse them out with water when you're done, and reuse them.

Alternatively, I know many people who just dose a larger amount and use only some of the water.

That said, if your tank is set up to be an ecosystem (live plants and some bottom feeders/scavengers like snails and shrimp), you really wouldn't need to change the water that often.

You can get a water test kit and check your water quality regularly until you find a cleaning balance that's safe for the fish, but also a bit easier on you. In my river bottom tank, I change the water just a few times per year, and it always tests perfect.

u/reggie_cleveland · 3 pointsr/Vasectomy

It's pretty easy to find testing kits on Amazon, but from what I've seen those cost $25-$45 each and only tell you in an analog fashion that your sperm count is above or below 20 million.

My recommendation (the rest of this is just a repost of something I posted earlier this week--sorry to anyone that's seen this before):
If you're looking for a long term solution that requires some investment but could really ease your mind...

You could buy

-A Microscope

-Some slides

-And some pipettes

...and then check your sperm count once or twice a year. All that costs about $100, but it should last you decades. I won't have my vasectomy until a couple weeks from now, but I've purchased these items and looked at my sperm under the microscope in order to get a feel for it.

Count the sperm in the 400x field of view. Record the numbers on the analysis sheet, or multiply the number by .5 to see the total. The total number of sperm is counted in millions, so a result of 72 would mean approximately 72,000,000 sperm.

According to the World Health Organisation, a man needs a sperm count of at least 20 million sperm per millilitre of ejaculate to have a chance of conceiving a child without medical intervention.

Yeah, it can be difficult with gel. In that case I would-

  • get some distilled water or vodka or both. Do not use tap water because it contains chlorine which can kill the LSD.
  • Get a small bottle preferably an amber or dark colored or something that can block out light. (UV light can kill LSD as well.) Or if you can’t get one of those then you can wrap aluminum foil around a bottle to block out the light.

Here are some amber bottles you can buy on Amazon with a measured dropper.- 3 Pack of 1oz Amber Glass Dropper Bottles (30mL) with Child Resistant Graduated Measurement Marked Glass Droppers::The Hemp Door LLC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SXJHKQH/

If you don’t need a glass bottle but need a dropper you can get one of these.- Ezy Dose Straight Tip Glass Medicine Dropper (Calibrated) 1 mL https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0071S5Y46/

If you want to get a precise measurement of the water or vodka then get a measuring cup that has milliliter measurements. Something like these.- Pixnor Measuring Cylinder Graduated Cylinder Lab Test Tube Set of 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019W5T4CS/

Depending on how much LSD you have in those gel tabs I would recommend trying 20-30ml. (Those amber glass bottles can only hold 30 ml.) You’ll maybe want to use this calculator. - https://www.microdosingcalculator.org/

  • Take one of the gel tabs of LSD and cut it up in 2-4 pieces. I would recommend wearing gloves so the lsd doesn’t get into your skin.

  • Put the pieces of LSD in the bottle and pour the 20-30ml of distilled water or vodka or a mix of both. To help the gel dissolve quicker use warmer water or vodka and let it sit for 1 day in room temperature but keep it out of the light.

  • To be on the safe side try taking only 0.5ml for your first dose in the early morning and try it on a day off from any important obligations or responsibilities to see how you feel and how you react to it.

You shouldn’t feel much. If you feel too spacey or jittery then that means you might have taken too much. Wait 2 days and try a lower dose. (1 day on, 2 days off) If you didn’t feel anything then maybe try a little more the next time like 1ml. If you feel too spacey or jittery then go lower the next time. You have to find your sweet spot that’s right for you, where you just feel an over all good feeling to your day.

After you’ve found the dose that’s right for you then you can continue doing the 1 day on, 2 days off or maybe try every other day.

One ounce is 29.5 ml.

One 250ug tab in 29.5 ml = 8.5ug per ml, which is actually a good microdose volume.

First head over to /r/microdosing to get a more detailed answer or broader answers to microdosing. I'll give it a go though.

So tolerance for LSD is something like after 2 weeks you get back to baseline where 100μg = 100μg. Refer to this. In the case on microdosing, we seem to come to the conclusion that the tolerance effect of such a small dose is incredibly low. So low in fact that daily use for a while will still incur similar effects. Though I'm not sure how long that can last.

To compensate for this it is recommended to have a routine of 3/4 days between the doses, this is mostly to minimise the build of tolerance (no matter how little it is). This works incredibly well for some. You can find the right way for yourself.

We do not know how tolerance to LSD works but in the case of microdosing there is no need to increase doses - if you're going the daily route - as this would increase the perceptual effects which you do not want. Keeping to a set dose also keeps the effects in line with what to expect, avoiding cases of racing thoughts, body temperature fluctuations and other effects. But I recommend not doing this. Go for the every few days and keep the dose similar once your find that sweet spot.

On top of all of that dosing is an important factor so cutting up a tab is not recommended as the tab may not be dosed equally. To get around this using a method called volumetric dosing is advised. Here's a guide on how to do that. Using less distilled water can be done if your use a pipette to dose, one like this for example.

All in all I have to admit I love microdosing. It has helped me out incredibly. I vouch for it and would love the idea to spread. I would caution any person doing it though to keep within their limits and follow a regime they construct themselves or someone has recommended, say Dr Fadiman.

Edit. My link to Dr Fadiman's letter is being flagged for spam. Great. It's at the bottom of this article.

u/b8nn8n · 2 pointsr/gardening

The meter is a matter of preference. I would shop based on how it's calibrated...some use 6.86 and 4.01 solutions but meters that calibrate at 7 & 4 may be more expensive but those solutions are cheaper. I have had probes break too so don't go crazy on price. I like this one because of the case it comes with along with the calibrating fluid. I would also get some sort of dropper it will help to adjust your ph. If it is just clean water a single drop of ph down will lower the oh by several points. Aim for 5.5-6.5

Draining and replacing the water won't solve your issue right away. As long as the plant stays alive and growing it should be fine. If you can remove the plant out of the bucket and run some water over it for a few minutes and replace the water it would probably help.

Edit: found a photo of my tomato last year. This thing got like 8ft tall.

u/SGT_Crunch · 2 pointsr/DwarfPuffers

Snails aren’t “bad” they are just difficult. Try buying one of these or an eye dropper. Melt frozen blood worms into a little bit of warm water. Suck up just a little bit, and hold the dropper in the tank. Give it a little squeeze, so only one worm kinda comes out. Move it around a bit. They are very sight oriented. If they start eating then like that, you will be able to just drop in a cube and they will attach it!

You can also try growing your own brine shrimp.

In an amber or cobalt glass bottle... Not like this.

But something akin to that. You'll have to get a calibrated medicine dropper... They have amber glass bottles with these already included, on the lid to the original bottle...but I can't find that right now.

After that, just avoid direct heat & sunlight exposure... LABEL WHAT IT IS, AND THE CONCENTRATION PER ML...

Uh... There isn't much literature about volumetrically dosing with tabs, at least the actual dissolving... But I'd say just play it safe and shake it up a good few times within a 24-hour period before using.

I think the transparency of his fins are a bit deceiving, but the curling of the fins may be caused by poor water quality OR it may just be because he has some rosetail in him.

Are you able to test ammonia, kh, ph, nitrates and nitrites? I highly suggest investing in a water testing kit. The API test kit will be the best $20 you will ever spend for your fish. If you get the kit, I also suggest adding some 5mL pipettes for much safer and convenient water testing.

I started with a hydrometer as most folks do. I brew 2.5 gal batches and didn't like losing so much wort to each test (I did not pour it back in for fear of infection) and the cooling period meant I couldn't really take useful measures during mash. Refractometer, on the other hand, uses a drop or two so I can test more often including near the end of fermentation. A 10" glass pipette from Amazon allows me to pull from the grommet opening, little risk of infection since I don't open the bucket and frankly it's very simple ... spritz StarSan into my hand, suck it up into the pipette a couple times, wipe the pipette down on the outside and pull the sample. Conversion is really not a problem for me as i'm always on the computer anyway. Don't see what a hydrometer gets me, it is collecting dust now.

What you are after is airbrush flow improver to thin down regular citadel paints for an airbrush. Don't use water unless you have access to RO or distilled. Even then, I'd recommend a mix of water and flow improver. Thinner, while it works, causes the paint to dry faster. Maybe it works for more experienced airbrushers... but the slower drying time with flow improver seems to keep my airbrush from clogging as much.

As /u/ChicagoCowboy mentioned... how much flow improver to add will really depend on the paint, the nozzle size, and the air pressure you are using.

For thinner paints like layers and edges, (or the citadel air paint) I use disposable pipet droppers to transfer the paints to the cup. 100 for $2.50. No need to clean them. For Thicker layers and bases... I just use an old paintbrush.

Thank you so much! I do add the alcohol ink to the gold. Setting up you can probably get away with spending about $50.

Here is a link to a variety pack of paints. (Gold included)

Other supplies you will need is yupo paper or a ceramic tile. Here is the kind I’ve used. However ceramic tiles are much cheaper to practice on because you can remove the ink with your rubbing alcohol and start over. I got my tiles from Lowe’s!

Some other supplies you will need is rubbing alcohol over 91% (about $2). Also some Pipettes for your rubbing alcohol.

Hey I feel ya on this. I have a small aggressive tank with three gobys and one female beta. What I do is a distraction technique. Drop a good amount onto the opposite side of the tank from the shy fish, and while the aggressive female is chowing down, I'll use a long pipette to feed the shy fish! Doesn't always work, and sometimes I end up bopping her on the nose. It doesn't hurt her, but it does indicate to her that she's being an asshole.

Flourish Excel is only active in the water column for ~24 hours before it breaks down; it should be dosed daily or every other day. Monthly would be essentially pointless.

I bought a 6 pack of amber colored, glass bottles off amazon. Only 6 bucks. These come with eye droppers, but they have no markings on them. I bought one seperately, also from amazon.

To mix them, I buy vodka from a liquor store. You can use water, but do NOT use tap water as it has chlorine that will immediately destroy LSD. I've also read that water degrades LSD more over time than alcohol, hence my choice. I use the dropper to measure out how much solution I want to use to put into the container, along with however many tabs I want to put in with it. Let it sit for a few days (swirl contents now and again) and voila.

u/beardedqueen · 1 pointr/Rcbestsell

Yes, it should. 1000mg = 1gm. So knowing that you can convert an amount in milligrams to grams by dividing by 1000. So 30mg / 1000mg = 0.03g, or it would show on your scale 0.030g. It doesn't even have to be that difficult, simply knowing there are 1000mg in a gram you can see that the three zeros behind the decimal represent 999mg - 1mg. So 0.300 would be 300mg, 0.099 would be 99mg, so on. If you wanted to make the dose lower you could measure out 0.015, so 15mg, and dissolve it in 30ml of your solvent. 15mg / 30ml = 0.5mg. So that'd give you 0.5mg per 1ml.

Imo this is the safest way to this RC considering it's potency. Also I'm glad you responded, I realized the glass bottles I linked don't have ML markings on the droppers, and I can't seem to find of those online now. I got mine from Ceretropic a while back. So if you want to use this method and don't have a glass bottle either make sure you can find one that does have the MG marking, or you can buy this dropper seperate. Be safe! :]
