I had to have a fasciotomy due to compartmental swelling to save my leg. So I don't know how many sutures you have.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H11D796 (not until a week after suture removal.) Otherwise I kept pressure with a long long ace bandage securely wrapped.

Best of luck man, it's a long road but we will get there.

How'd it happen?

I can't believe this hasn't already been mentioned, but for those that don't want to pay the ridiculous price of the Liberator but also don't want to make their own, there's this. It works just as well as a liberator, costs way less, bonus utility when you have to sleep propped up for some reason.

There are lots of fancy support pillows on the market, here's a cheaper orthopedic labeled one that my wife and I use all the time: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008GQ04S8/

u/mudcelt · 19 pointsr/sex

what about a sex wedge? There are some cheap varriations on Amazon, like this one. It might help her open her hips.

This might not work for her, but what I thought of when I read your post was restorative yoga, which is basically about putting your body into poses that are supported by blankets and pillows and allowing yourself to open up your hips and shoulders. Obviously I don't know anything about her level of mobility, but if you think she could benefit from it, maybe this book and a commitment to help her with it might increase your intimacy AND help her become more flexible and comfortable.

u/shaven_neckbeard · 18 pointsr/sex

My GF and I have been doing this for about 3 years. We liked it so much we bought a wedge pillow from Amazon so we wouldn't be messing with our good sleeping pillows.

We also love using the pillow when she is laying stomach down on the pillow with her vagina just back from the edge and she uses a small vibe on her clit. She cums every time we do this. I think its the ease of access for everything and she doesn't have to support herself while I can go as hard as I want. Definitely recommend!

Washable bedding for the piggy enclosure:

-Bottom layer: bed liner pads, there are dozens of different size options available on amazon, so you can find ones that will fit your enclosure dimensions.

-Middle layer: Moisture wicking "sheepette" faux wool. Soft and provides a thick, dry layer between the piggies and the urine absorbing bed liner pad. Easy to cut to size.

-Top layer: regular fleece fabric (if you buy new fleece, wash in hot water with unscented detergent and some Borox powder, this helps remove any moisture repelling chemicals on the surface of the fabric that will prevent urine from quickly absorbing). I get the plain fleece blankets that come in a roll from ikea, they're large and inexpensive, you can cut them to the sizes you need. Or if you want to get fancy you can go to a craft store that sells fabric.

I put my 3 layers in the enclosure, then take the top fleece layer and tuck it in on all sides so the piggies don't lift up the fleece to hide underneath it.

Feed good food. I feed my piggies Sherwood pellets, and i order hay from Small Pet Select. The bigger the box/bag you order, the more money you save. Also, NEVER buy hay at petco or petsmart. Their prices are OUTRAGEOUS. 20$ for 5lbs of oxbow, insane! I pay 72$ for a 60lb box of hay from Small Pet Select (i have quite a few pigs lol need a lot of hay). If i bought hay from petco, 60lbs would cost me like 240$.

Feed healthy veggies every day. Fruit should be a RARE treat. I only give my pigs a little bit of fruit once every 2-3 weeks. Fruit is just natures candy, its not really healthy, its a special treat and should not be a part of a guinea pigs regular diet. Raspberry is one of the lowest sugar fruits so its a good choice for the occasional treat.
Always rinse veggies well before feeding. Red/orange/yellow bell peppers are extremely high in vitamin c so they are fantastic as part of a daily piggy salad. Other good veggies are green leaf, red leaf and romaine lettuce, celery, cucumber, escarole (aka curly endive). Fresh herbs in moderation bc they have high calcium contents. I never give my pigs things like kale, spinach or broccoli, too much calcium and oxalates. Carrots have quite a bit of sugar (not as much as fruit though) so i only give a little carrot 2x per week.

I give my piggies a Sherwood joint support tablet daily to help prevent arthritis bc guinea pigs are extremely prone to developing arthritis in their knees (my vet told me most pigs have significant arthritis in the knees by age 4 and it is certainly not comfortable).

Last thing i can think of that i think its important for piggy owners to know is that piggies are very sensitive to sound, they don't like loud TV/music/etc. I leave classical music on a low volume for my piggies on a radio or streaming from my computer (WQXR and KUSC are great classical stations you can stream online or on those smart speaker devices a lot of people are getting these days). Its nice for them to have something pretty and soothing to listen to, makes their living environment more interesting.

Guinealynx.org is a very good resource for piggy info.

I bathe my piggies once per year, using Gorgeous Guineas shampoo. Its an adorable little company and they sell affordable shampoo, even some in very small bottles so those with just 2 piggies dont need to spend money on big bottles theyll never get close to finishing off.

Have you tried something like a wedge? You could possibly lie on it face down for doggy without having to support yourself or arch your back.

This is the 7.5", which is much more similar in height to the Liberator wedge.

The one you have listed is comparable to the ramp pillow, which can be great, depending on your needs.

u/prepping4zombies · 5 pointsr/SleepApnea

Yes, when I started I had it - and it was severe. The first recommendation is in line with your added "note"...the full face works best for me, as it's passive air delivery (vs. something like nasal pillows) and offers a bit more space than a nasal mask.

The main things that helped me were (1) taping my mouth shut, (2) sleeping on a slight incline (this wedge pillow), (3) and sleeping on my back with a firm pillow under my head. Swallowing air was the worst for me when I was on my side, or when I was on my back and tilted my head to one side or the other. So, I conditioned myself to sleep on my back (it was a challenge because I prefer my side) and keep my head straight when I was on my back (like I was staring at the ceiling).

All of that and time help greatly. While you are adapting, take two Gas-X before bed. It's safe to take every night - it won't alleviate the problem, but will make it easier to deal with (lessens the severity and the pain).

edit - try to be mindful of your breathing through the day...if you are a mouth breather, condition yourself to breath through your nose. And, as an added benefit, the full face mask (combined with the heat/humidity from my line) really helped with my nasal congestion issues; if you need to, spray some otc nasal spray (I prefer 4-way) into your nose before you put your mask on at night.

edit 2 - it'll get better with time, and it will be worth it when you start sleeping good!

u/Emotional_Job · 5 pointsr/ACL

Things I found helpful:
Ice Machine - You may be sent home with one, but find out. If you need to buy your own, I recommend it. ~$200 Brega Cube is what I got.

A way to elevate your leg. Pillows will work, this is what I got.

Shower Stool, non-slip shower mat if you don't have one. On the shower stool, I used an Ikea step stool we have and that worked well.

Ice Packs I got two of these. They get cold quick and last 20 to 30 minutes.

A charging station for phones, tablets, and other entertainment devices.

Other things, if you know who you plan to see for PT, talk to them to find out what you can do and should buy for home PT. I bought a balance pad, exercise ball, stretch bands, yoga mat, and put my bike on a trainer (already had). With this, I could do and still do some PT at home.

Other advice: Schedule your meds. You don't want to fall behind, the pain is intense. Drink a lot of sports drinks
or coconut water. Keeping hydrated will help.

I got this on Amazon to help with getting out of bed post c section: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07215NF33/ I may install it early! 😃

u/Cheap_Bat · 4 pointsr/SuperMorbidlyObese

If a regular pillow isn't enough you can try a wedge pillow. They're firmer and kind of triangular shaped so it would probably do a better job of bending his body upward at the waist. I haven't tried it for this purpose, I only know about them because I use one for acid reflux (they help keep you up on an incline when you're sleeping which is good for reflux) although I think they make things like this specifically for sex too. This is the one I use which is cool because you can adjust it to a couple different heights.

u/yourmomlurks · 4 pointsr/BabyBumps

I know this is not quite what you asked for, but... I have one of these for days I am well enough to recline, but not well enough to leave bed and go to my reclining chair (which reclines less far than I can comfortably do on this one):

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CSH9DLR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I further pad it out/change the angle somewhat with additional pillows, sturdy, thick, memory foam ones. It does wonders for me. It also really helps with sleep hygiene, in the sense that day time is recliner wedge time, even if I recline all the way back on it rather than making it a bit more upright with more pillows, and nighttime is laying down and sleeping time.

u/blessedarethegeek · 3 pointsr/ACL

Since you've used a wedge thing, do you think one more target for legs (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Elevated-Leg-Rest-Pillow-White/dp/B0024GX6G8/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1510847692&sr=8-5&keywords=bed+wedge+legs ) would've been better or was the style you linked better?

The wedge pillow is seriously worth its weight in gold. It made both sleeping and getting into/out of bed really easy and comfortable. I got this one but I think if you poke around amazon you can find cheaper ones. The 12" height is key though!

I know the impending surgery is scary, but you’re doing the right thing seeking answers from people who have been through it. I wish I’d found this community before my surgery!

I have long hair and really like my hair, and I brought it up to my surgeon. He only shaved the bare minimum- about half an inch wide and three inches long. Even shortly after the surgery you could only see the incision if I had my hair in a high bun- a ponytail hid it pretty well and it wasn’t noticeable at all with my hair down. I’d mention it to your surgeon. One thing: if you keep your long hair, be really careful brushing it after the surgery. I draped a towel over my shoulders and bunched it up around the incision so I wouldn’t accidentally bump it while I was brushing.

I did have trouble sharing a bed with my spouse. I ended up sleeping in our guest room. I got a support wedge and it was an absolute life saver, I had to sleep almost sitting up and this thing was great, especially since you can adjust the incline: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U6HMK78/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UL2OCbDAW0AMT

Idk about the card, I’m in Texas and we don’t have them. But you definitely shouldn’t be considered “cured”, everyone says it takes a year or more to feel fully recovered from the surgery. I’m four months post op and still take narcotics to manage the pain, I don’t feel cured yet by any means. But, a little better each day for the most part :)

u/bunky123 · 3 pointsr/ACL

I used this one - it's nice because it folds in half for somewhat easier storage. At least for me, there was so much laying around with the leg up that it was nice not to be constantly dealing with stacks of pillows.

okay, so...this was an amazingly fantastic weekend.

saturday: ended up going out for NYE after all - went to my favorite tap house with a group of friends. loved every minute of it; it's funny how when i feel like i want to be alone, what i end up getting more out of is time with my tribe. it was well worth the sleep i didn't get. :)

sunday: i will freely admit i was neither awake nor sober until about noon, halfway through our aquarium trip with brother-in-law and nieces (17 and 20), but we still had an amazing time. grabbed lunch afterward, headed over to clearwater to watch the sun go down and wade a bit, and then went back to their place to have some snacks and visit with them and their mom a bit more before we headed back. (well over 10k steps and i know for a fact i ended up at a deficit still, so, bonus!)

monday: slept for something like ten hours. hubby went shopping while i got myself cleaned up and did some chores (and enjoyed some desperately needed alone time; as fun as sunday was, it seriously taxed my introverted self and i was getting downright bitchy even despite all the sleep), i enjoyed the bottle of bubbly i'd set aside for NYE, we had meatballs with alfredo sauce for a late lunch/early dinner...it was just a nice mellow day.

so, today, life returns to normal. getting my food back on track and am going to do a leslie sansone video this morning, since it'll be my last for a few days; i have an appointment for a new hormone pellet insertion this afternoon. it's supposed to be okay to exercise within three days but i've found giving it an extra couple of days to heal is generally not a bad thing. and i can still lift and stuff.

fantastic news on the sleep front...i think i found an answer with a 7" wedge pillow. this, combined with a normal feather pillow, have resulted in snore-free, consistent, deep sleep over the last few days like i don't think i've experienced in years. i'm so happy i could cry, because i was getting desperate. i'll see how things go over this next week but as of right now, i can highly recommend it and have been telling everyone i know about it.

so that's about it. holidays were surprisingly excellent, and this was a fantastic start to the new year - i'm glad to be back at it. hope everyone has a good day today!!

u/ameoba · 3 pointsr/NoStupidQuestions

Trust me - that shit won't be comfortable for long at all. Depending on the nature of your injury, it might not even be practical.

You want something that'll make you sit upright. A proper table to rest your laptop on is also a big help. I was laid up for months and had a table like this

If nothing else, you need a flat surface you you don't block the vent holes on your laptop with your blankets.

Can't speak to the liberator but have definitely enjoyed this much cheaper alternative from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NGKWKS6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_879XAbNP7KFKM

Good firmness so you can maintain some leverage, but still comfy enough to not be distracting, definitely worth a shot for the price! ($31)

Liberator has foam ramps:

this is the wedge...I think it would be great for you guys, since you're beginners -- If you scroll down, there's a scrolling bar of sex positions that they recommend with the wedge... the standing ovation will likely work well for you guys! The elevated wheel barrow ... really I'm betting the wedge will help you tons.

If you don't want to pay 90 for this pillow, there's this: https://www.amazon.com/InteVision-Wedge-Pillow-Quality-Removable/dp/B009HHLBKK/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1467501998&sr=8-1&keywords=sex+position+pillow

on amazon. its 40 bucks.. however I can't attest to quality, since I don't own it.

On stretching... this is pretty big, especially for women as having wider, more open access will make penetration easier for you and more pleasurable for her. Obviously, she doesn't need to be doing the splits here. But I agree that a little bit of extra flexibility will help a ton. Doing a little bit of stretching during foreplay will also help keep those muscles from cramping up ;)

Laying down flat will be quite painful. A bed wedge made a huge difference in managing the pain and being able to sleep. No BLT - bending, lifting and twisting. Good luck with the micro-D!

u/zinconinco13 · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

Great questions! Our original plan was to put it on my side of the bed but we ended up with it at the foot of the bed for a few reasons. First, the thing is huge and it would be hard to crawl around it to get in and out of bed. Second it would require my husband to walk around the bed to get to the babies which would mean I’d be probably doing more of the checking on babies. Also newborns are loud as hell so having them next to my face would keep me up even more. At the foot of the bed we’re able to each easily scoot down to check on them and being able to rotate to get to each baby is awesome. I will say it wasn’t easy for me in the beginning and my husband did have to do more of the scooting and lifting them out. I had a csection with a pretty rough recovery so I wasn’t super mobile. I got a bed ladder that I can’t recommend enough if you end up with a csection (or for when you get too big to get out of bed easily). Someone posted a meme making fun of these that I saw while pregnant and instantly bought it and it was a game changer while pregnant and after. It helped me sit up to then get down to the Halo.

All in all, it’s definitely a luxury item at the price it is but I think it’s worth the investment. Plus you can probably resell it when you’re done.

u/MysteryPerker · 2 pointsr/DIY

If you buy wedge pillows they are much cheaper. About $33 for a similar pillow. Of course, $4 is much, much cheaper than even that. Just for those who don't have the time. I bought one to sleep on an incline with.

I either sleep on my side with a body pillow between my knees and supporting my up side arm or on my back with a special knee wedge pillow. It’s slanted on the side that goes under your knees then is flat. It keeps me from hyperextending my lower back (or hyper flexing? It keeps my lumbar and sacral spine flat and also keeps my knees from falling open and making my hips want to sublux). The number of pillows under my head varies considerably as to what I’m doing when I fall asleep. I’ll try and find a link to the knee pillow I’m talking about. pillow

I bought a wedge pillow off amazon and have been keeping my leg constantly elevated since my procedure (now day 4).

My foot is a little annoyed with the reduced blood flow but I think that the wedge and icing have been keeping the swelling fairly controlled. This is the pillow I bought:

For the night issues, I recommend getting a wedge pillow I bought this one and really like it. Make sure you have one that's the length of your torso, otherwise it'll fuck your back up, like this one that I bought first and returned. Or if you have more money you might consider this type, it helps to prop your feet up too. I also slide down the bed if I'm inclined without a pillow behind my knees.

I find it's best to eat about 2 hours before bed. If I eat too long ago my stomach stays empty for too long and bothers me, but if I eat before bed it hurts more the next day.

Talk to your doctor about getting anti-nausea pills. I use zophrin 4mg sublingual melts and they're super helpful. Ginger helps some people, but it fucks up my stomach so I can't consume it.

It might be stress. There's nothing wrong with that, mine was caused by stress too. Stress is a chemical process, it raises cortisol levels which impair digestion. My doctor explained it as your body going into fight or flight mode, which shuts down unnecessary things like digestion while there's more important things, but you can't tell your body to start that shit up again so it becomes a chronic problem. Regardless of the cause it's still a medical condition, it's like dismissing someone with a broken leg because they did something stupid; it doesn't matter why you're in pain, your symptoms are still real and still fucking up your life.

I wrote up a bunch of different things that will be easier to eat in an old post, look through that and try to shift your diet more towards things that won't cause problems.

It may be awkward at first but check out a wedge pillow. I had some bad reflux and it’s pretty much gone now with diet changes and the pillow. It’s cheap enough to give a try. See link below

I'm so sorry! I was on it the whole stretch too. My husband asked me last night when I wanted to try for a second and I cried because God, pregnancy sucks so hard.

I also had a bit of luck sitting on an exercise ball and sleeping on a wedge.

Nothing actually made it 'better' though. Fortunately all of it was better the second she was born. I was practically skipping through
the hospital...

Potential "not what you are looking for" suggestion, but do you have a couch or chair that's comfortable and facing your TV? if so, one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Vaunn-Medical-Adjustable-Overbed-Hospital/dp/B00QMNTMXA/ref=sr_1_1_sspa can be amazing.

Pillows and things like this https://www.amazon.com/Drive-Medical-Folding-Bed-Wedge/dp/B00NGKWKS6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1R87Y2C8Q3CPV&keywords=sex%2Bpillows%2Bpositioning%2Bfor%2Bwomen&qid=1564107249&s=gateway&sprefix=sex%2Bpillow%2Caps%2C171&sr=8-1&th=1 (this one is a little soft, so I don't actively recommend it, it's just the first thing that turned up in the search) and you'll be fine.

u/MojoMonster · 1 pointr/TwoXSex

From this, to this.

But this is the one we'd looked at before.

Good luck and have fun! :)

u/callmechristoph · 1 pointr/ACL

i'm 2-days post-op and this was my 2nd surgery -- in addition to all the prehahbing (working out your legs, getting full ROM, getting the swelling down), think about practically what will help after surgery when you're stuck in bed or at home:

for me, this has been a life saver -- also, i bought this table/bed desk and some natural recovery supplements.
Not sure what your snacks look like, but also helps to have a lot of snacks handy (but a lot of fruits and veggies, too!)

Good luck!

Just get this... Or get the real one and pretend it's a reading pillow. Bonus points if you can find a pillow case with the word "read" witen on it.

I got this one a couple of weeks ago and it has been amazing.

Brentwood Home Zuma Therapeutic Foam Bed Wedge Pillow, Made in California 7-inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DTZVKFM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Mh14Cb8C7XH9G

I was just stacking pillows up. I didn't realize how much that was hurting my back and neck until I started sleeping on this wedge. Seriously a game changer for only $30.

u/Kelseyb · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

This is the one I purchased, but honestly, I think it's all the other pillows that make the difference (under my side).

Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional, take my advice with a grain of salt.

My wife suffers from chronic back due to an improperly placed epidural. One thing that helped her was a back brace with lumbar belt. Here's one for reference:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GVO2PVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3OoQBb524XVBD

There are also bed assist handles. They are secured to the bed, and help the person pull themselves up:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JIJRZ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_aXoQBbHKRNP8W

Finally, you might consider a reading/seat pillow. It supports you so that you can rest sitting up. My grandmother used one of these to help get out of bed when her sciatica prevented her from being able to get off her back: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0733ZCSR9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_-YoQBbNP02W5K

I'm not sure about exosuits for the elderly, I know that they exist, but i don't know any suppliers. Still, a combination of these (maybe all of them) may help. Best of luck.

When your legs are up on it it's tough to roll on your side unless you're really committed. And you may be when you first start using it. But after a few nights it's worked like a charm for me.

u/gallopingwalloper · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

I couldn't lie on my side for a while, so slept on my back with a leg pillow like [this] (http://www.amazon.com/InteVision-Ortho-Wedge-Quality-Removable/dp/B008GQ04S8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1419096767&sr=8-4&keywords=leg+pillow). To get into bed I would sit on a plastic-face-down paper and plastic cloth from the doctors office. That way I could easily scoot my butt across the bed on the slippery plastic to get into position. The only way I could get out of bed was with help. Also, my incision opened after 10 days and became infected, so healing took longer. Good luck!

u/CunningLinguist__ · 1 pointr/medicine

i would add that, while there is a physiologic basis for smoking and alcohol cessation, weight loss and trigger food avoidance, the only life improvement modality that's ever been proven to work by evidence is raising the head of your bed. if you cant put bricks or cinder blocks under the head of your bed, buy a wedge pillow for 30 bucks from amazon.com

These are some things I used and I can only recommend:

bed ladder

bed rail

See if you can wrap your hands around one of your legs and use the other to swing yourself back and forth / control how quickly you lay down. It really helped me, especially since I didn’t want to/couldn’t turn on my sides. Best of luck, these are the toughest parts of the recovery.

u/pandas_mom · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

My number one Amazon goody is this leg incline pillow because my back is all screwy after my wreck.

And sweet babies, those wallets are pretty. I think #5 is the prettiest, though. :)

u/Mymindisgone217 · 1 pointr/GastricBypass

I'm a side sleeper as well and found that i can sleep better on my back when I have the head of my mattress propped up. Look for a large wedge pillow such as this ( https://www.amazon.com/Abco-Tech-Wedge-Pillow-Memory/dp/B07CSH9DLR/ref=asc_df_B07CSH9DLR/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=283935853333&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3084581724008948855&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-521492536786&psc=1 ). You can get ones that are more of a pillow like this one, or you can get ones that are meant as a wedge to put under your mattress, but if you don't have anyone that can assist you with getting it under your mattress, the pillow would be a better solution.

u/completelynicki · 1 pointr/ACL

When I say ice machine I mean one that pumps ice around your knee, not one that makes ice! I have the Polar Care Cube.

This is the wedge pillow I got. It’s supposed to actually be for your back but works perfectly for keeping your knee in extension and elevated!

Bed Wedge, FitPlus Premium Wedge Pillow 2 Inches Memory Foam 2 Year Warranty, Acid Reflux Pillow with Removable Cover Dr Recommended for Snoring and Gerds https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KKPKOFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HRKQDbM3G1TT1

I actually slept on the couch for the first week because it was much easier for me to get comfortable and not move around too much in my sleep, too.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/Asthma

Oh the honking and choking is from post nasal drip. It's likely GERD (silent reflux)

You'll need to have the ENT check you out and maybe try an antacid before bed. They told me to use a pillow like this to sleep to avoid the problem, but for me it's just weird...

u/jemartian · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

Bed wedges! They are amazing. I've had really bad acid reflux for over 10 years now, the kind that makes you run to the er because it feels like someone is ripping your chest open, and wedges are a huge help! I have been sleeping on one every night for 8 months now and my night time symptoms are almost nonexistent. Here's an example of one http://www.amazon.com/InteVision-Wedge-Pillow-Quality-Removable/dp/B009HHLBKK/ref=zg_bs_3775471_1

My elderly rabbit has picked up some interesting litter habits and can't reach or clean one of his feet because of a hip issue. Using the bed sore pads (out of the biggest size I cut it down into smaller sections) has made a huge difference and helps his feet. Other people have used them for elderly or crippled bunnies - see the reviews. Hay really does come out! I shake most of the hay out outside before I put them in the washing machine. You will need to use towels under the pads because they really do pull the moisture away from the bunny.

There are cheaper alternatives, at least for the ramp.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KKPKOFK

I have not tried one, but at 1/10th the cost it is a much lower barrier to entry to see if you like it.

u/arctic_man · 1 pointr/SleepApnea

I sleep sitting up. I could not handle sleeping on my side, and do not like the idea of the machine; so sleeping reclined it is. Not diagnosed because that costs monies, but I do snore very loud, and wake up tired. Lately I have been waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom which can be a sign as well. Sleeping reclined has helped quite a bit. I feel better during the day and do not feel like I am going to fall asleep at work or in traffic.

I will be picking up one of these to help eventually.

u/yourfriendlyhuman · 1 pointr/SleepApnea

Definitely don't blame you for looking to fix it. I've tried a lot of things including a bumper belt as side sleeping helps me. Currently a wedge pillow is helping me in combination with my cpap.

Happy to :)
While we always enjoyed doggy style we do a lot more of it these days.
Also, we picked up a wedge pillow (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009HHLBKK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01) and it has been fun. My wife can lay on her back with it under her hips and it is great as it raises her hips and it changes the angle that I enter her and where I hit internally. It also allows us to maintain eye contact. ;) It's also a great position for me to give her oral as I can go for up to an hour without getting a sore neck.
She also likes to lay face down on it with it under her hips. Very similar to doggy but it's a lot easier on her arms.
We love to spoon but entering her while spooning is difficult now. We've compensated by spooning from the waist down which allows penetration and I can still touch her back, arms and face, maintaining a level of connection.
I think the final one that we enjoy is where she lays on her back and I lay on my side next to her, maybe at a 45 degree angle. She raises her leg closest to me, I slide my top leg under her raised leg and extend so that lies on top of or next to her other leg. This allows us me to enter her and get really deep into her.
Another one that we've added is where she lays on her side and moves her top leg forward with her lower leg running parallel to her lower leg. I then straddle her lower leg and slide into her. It's ok for us. I mention it as it's worth trying and I know experiences vary by person.
If I wasn't clear or descriptive enough let me know and I'll try to clarify.
Oh, and one more thing... We added a Hitatchi magic wand and she loves having a non-penetrative vibrator.

Look for similar products marketed as medical supplies for people with injuries/mobility issues. I have this one and I love it; the fact that it folds into multiple shapes is a bonus IMO for both use with multiple positions, and for storage, and that kind of feature isn't even available from Liberator's super expensive line: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NGKWKS6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yes! When one (car) door closes, another opens ;)

This is the wedge pillow I got but it was cheaper when I got it (~$25) - I think any wedge pillow could work, or you can get one that's designed for a single leg - just make sure you can use it with your leg fully extended.

This is the bed desk I got - I used it a lot for the first few days, but then I was able to move myself to a desk. I guess I should probably still use it when I'm on my laptop in bed but I don't... my laptop doesn't have any issues overheating and I feel like it just gets in the way sometimes.

Use one of these type adjustable surfaces to get your setup at the right height for you.

http://www.amazon.com/Drive-Medical-Overbed-Table-Silver/dp/B002VWJZ8S/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1463318487&sr=8-3&keywords=adjustable+side+table

Bonus1: With the right setup, you can easily convert it from a 'sitting surface' to a 'standing surface' with a simple lever.

Bonus2: Doubles as a personal coffee table.

For awhile I used one of these type surfaces as a space efficient convertible sitting/standing desk by clamping a monitor to the edge using a VESA mount.

Other commentary: Using a mouse requires a flat level surface. I cannot imagine a lap desk type setup to be good for mousing (good luck getting that level!). Same deal with some of these funky 'sits on the couch with you' surfaces. I tried using a specially contoured logitech 'couch mouse' once. Useless.
