You can add the app to your account using the browser while it's still free, then actually use it once a patch comes out to fix the crash. Claim it here: http://amzn.com/B004Y1WCDE

Btw, I'm not sure why it is going to take months for YTTV to be available. It seems strange they are moving so slow.

Thanks for the shoutout /u/ratraget! Hey all I'm the developer behind FitzyTV. It basically acts as a Program Guide and Cloud DVR for any channel you have access to through your TV subscriptions. You can find the app here: https://www.amazon.com/FitzyTV-Streaming-TV-Cloud-DVR/dp/B07DFW52P3. Just launched a revamped app so would love your feedback!

Here it is.

I notice it's quite buried when searching for some reason. Make sure you have updated your Amazon app too

u/Conradical314 · 5 pointsr/PleX

It's still $0.99 on Amazon store.

It is not worth your time wondering about unofficial apps when $0.99 will get you the official app with mainstream support (new features and guaranteed updating). Normally I would want to qualify such a statement with "each to their own", but if you don't got 99 cents you're gonna wanna work on that before your media server.

u/fuzzo · 5 pointsr/tablets

Dude. I don't know wtf you think you're on about. Go to Amazon and download the Amazon Prime Video app.

u/SocksForBreakfast · 5 pointsr/cordcutters

I don't think this is the case. It redirects to:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004Y1WCDE/ref=cm_sw_su_dp

Which is not a referral link, just the product page. You can add any Amazon ASIN number to amzn.com/<ASIN> and it will redirect to:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/<ASIN>/ref=cm_sw_su_dp

Even a shortened URL would need ?tag=MY_REFERRAL_ID appended to it. Nothing fishy going on here.

u/salvatorundie · 5 pointsr/canadacordcutters

No account required to access most content (presented with ads) plus your local CBC station (geo-located). I think it's saying you need the Amazon app installed to use this. You may also need the Amazon App store installed to actually install the app (but I don't think so).

u/jorbelz · 4 pointsr/amazon

Yes, but it's not available through the Play Store. You need to download it through the Amazon App Store. Amazon Prime Video by Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N28818A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_udp_apa_Xo-RybXSVCB8V

It looks like it is a separate listing than the CW app that was in the store for tablets previously. https://amazon.com/The-CW-Network/dp/B01LXZLEMN I used that one and it listed as compatible with my Gen2 TV, but not with my Gen1 Stick.

I could be very wrong but I don't think there is a difference between the two stores....?

Under amazon link: "What's new in version 3.6.3.269" Link

From their notes it looks like amazon has the newer version but I would assume you can update either of them once in the downloaded app? Now I'm confused.

Plex app is free. You can download the plex app for Fire TV from here: https://www.amazon.com/Plex-Inc/dp/B004Y1WCDE/ref=sr_1_1?s=mobile-apps&ie=UTF8&qid=1520835613&sr=1-1&keywords=plex

Download the plex server for your PC from here: https://www.plex.tv/downloads/

  1. Sign up for a free account on https://www.plex.tv/
  2. Start the server on PC,
  3. Add the movie libraries you want to watch on Fire TV
  4. Open the Fire TV app
  5. Pair it with the server. Fire TV app will display the code. You need to enter that code on PC browser.
  6. Once the pairing is complete, you will be able to watch the shared libraries on Fire TV

I use both Firetv box and Roku Premiere streaming devices. I think we use our FireTV boxes the most. The FireTV boxes are around $90.

I have an HDHomerun Extend connected to my antenna. I have viewed it through Plex, Kodi, and straight through an app (HDHomerun) on my FireTV box. By far, the most user friendly and best picture for me has been viewing it directly through the HDHomerun app (free to download). I don't DVR anything, so I can't comment about DVR functions. As far as I know, this app is not available on Roku. I could not get this app to work on the FireTV stick, only the box.

https://www.amazon.com/SiliconDust-USA-Inc-HDHomeRun/dp/B01MSBCRDY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504089747&sr=8-1&keywords=hdhomerun+app

One cool feature of the HDHomerun app is there is an available "what's on" on each channel that is available to see by just pushing the selector circle to the right while you are watching TV. It will tell you the station and the programing, and you can select the channel you want to view from there.

u/GaryChalmers · 3 pointsr/fireTV

I had trouble finding the app at first. This is the direct link for it on the Amazon app store:

And yes, it's live on the Amazon AppStore too! (for Fire TV)

u/dennisdubay · 2 pointsr/SquaredCircle

If you have a Smart tv and an Iphone/Ipad, download IwebTV from the APP Store. From there, Open IwebTV go to NJW's site, click on video you want to watch, and it'll ask you what TV you want to connect to ... as easy as that. EDIT: works with Android too.

If you’re logged into your Amazon account and your FireTV is registered with that account you should be able to send it to the FireTV from this page: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T771SPH/ref=nodl_. If not, just try searching in the FireTV. It was the 5th or 6th result for me. The real one is from Google LLC.

u/longandshortofit · 2 pointsr/fireTV

I'll be trying these streaming links tonight. I might have to cast from my iphone using "tv cast for firetv" if I can't get pluto or one of the mentioned apps to work.

u/laxor09 · 2 pointsr/Android

How to use it outside the US:

  1. Install Amazon App Store

  2. Uninstall the old Amazon App from Google Play

  3. Install the updated Amazon App and the Instant Video App from the Amazon App Store

  4. Done :)

Using it in Germany right now.

I got it working on my basic edition by going here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T771SPH/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_59kjDb41P6ZNB , and then having the app delivered to my device (if you're on mobile, force the desktop version of the page to get the option).

I don't know anything about it, but apparently it's only for Canadian users? Here is a link to the app in Amazon Canada's app store:

You'll probably have to use a VPN to make Amazon think you live in Canada if you don't.

  4. Send to device. (Assuming you are signed into your Amazon account on your device) you should be able to pick which device you want it sent to.
  5. Settings on Amazon fire -> account-> sync Amazon content.
  6. Wait a minute. Sling will disappear from managed applications. Launch sling from main menu.

I think it warned that I don't have a compatible device, but it still let me purchase it.

u/coherent-rambling · 2 pointsr/htpc

I haven't tried these methods, but from what I've seen you should be able to pull this off through either the Kodi machine or the Fire TV. There are apps/addons for both which claim to allow you to stream any video (same as a Chromecast would).

supposedly there is some issue they are having with version control.

I am not sure this will work, but you might try adding it via the website?

https://www.amazon.com/AT-T-Services-Inc-DIRECTV/dp/B01J62Q632

That should be the app, if you sign in with the amazon account that your fire tv is signed in with it should offer a "Deliver to" drop down that will let you select the fire tv... if it is missing there as well I guess dtvn still hasn't fixed the version control issue.

If you have the time, try chat support if the above doesn't work.

They supposedly only dropped 1st gen sticks (and boxes it seems).

u/Colonel_Izzi · 1 pointr/OculusGo

Actually you might need to go to Amazon and "Get" the app so it's attached to your account. That would make sense of the error.

(silly that this didn't occur to me earlier)

u/aeramor · 1 pointr/PleX

Odd, mine got the latest version Saturday. You can see for yourself it was updated by checking the version info here: http://www.amazon.com/Plex-Inc/dp/B004Y1WCDE

u/tobe_ · 1 pointr/Chromecast

I had some similar issues

For me the Netflix app frome Amazon-App shop fixed the problem. The version you can download here runs an older release

u/bookchaser · 1 pointr/cordcutters

The video app didn't show for me when searching for it in the Google store, neither broadly nor by its specific name. I believe this is it.

Not having that direct link, and having already installed the shopping app, I found the video app by going to a Prime video and clicking the play button. Then the app download prompt came up.

Plex Media Server is the answer.

Run plex server on your home computer.

Install the plex app on your Kindle.

. . .

Stream!

Also, I got one too. Couldn't pass up that deal!

I just heard about Amazon Fire Stick in another thread; Might be worth looking into.

edit: Amazon Fire Stick [Twitch app][https://www.amazon.com/Twitch-Interactive-Inc/dp/B007SOQBCM/ref=lp_10208590011_1_50?s=mobile-apps&ie=UTF8&qid=1469880844&sr=1-50) seems pretty bad too judging by the reviews.

u/CMFunk69 · 1 pointr/SquaredCircle

If you have an Iphone, i have been using an app called iWebTV .. you use their web browser, find the video/stream you want, and it will broadcast it to your tv ... as long as you have the iWebTV app on your tv as well.

I use a ROKU .. i'm not sure if they have it for chromecast.

This might not be helpful for you, but perhaps to some, it might.

I assume you're not trying to sideload or anything? There are two Netflix apps in the Amazon app store. This one is for the FireTV: https://www.amazon.com/Netflix-Inc/dp/B00OGRMULA. This one is for Kindle tablets: https://www.amazon.com/Netflix-Inc/dp/B005ZXWMUS. If you're using the right app and not trying to sideload, I'm not sure what to tell you. Have you tried contacting customer support? Are you sure you have enough storage available to install the app?

u/cache_ · 1 pointr/cordcutters

I use custom software I wrote but HDHomeRun works with HDHomeRun DVR (from Silicondust), Channels DVR (only on Apple TV 4), Plex DVR, and I believe Emby.

I haven't used it with a Fire TV but others on here have. There is an official HDHomeRun app available for it.

You could stream from them on anything that will play MPEG-2 including VLC on your computer, Android phone, iOS phone, all streaming boxes except Roku and Chromecast, your network-connected TV over DLNA, Kodi, a Raspberry Pi. It's a very flexible device.

Prime Instant Video streaming? It's out, it's in Amazon's app store though, not Google Play.

Then what does the following line mean:

>LIMITATION: Playing media from your Plex Media Server on the device running this app is limited (one minute for music and video, watermark on photos) until the app is unlocked. TO UNLOCK FULL FUNCTIONALITY: You can remove the playback limitations on the app if you use a Plex Pass enabled account to sign into the app -OR- if you make a small, one-time, in-app purchase of just the Android app itself.

On the Plex app's Amazon description found here:

> Amazon App Store Plex is now free

Nope... :(

Regardless, I've already paid for the app on Google Play and I absolutely love Plex.

u/cdegallo · 1 pointr/television

I meant prime music (sorry for the confusion).

Prime instant video has been available for general android devices for a while, you just need to get it via the Amazon app store (it's not in Google play): http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-com-Prime-Instant-Video/dp/B00N28818A

u/Kocrachon · 1 pointr/amazon

Amazon instant video is available for android, its just not on the google play market. Might be a conflict with google or something, but if you download the amazon app store, you can download it here.

If you go to this link while signed in to the same account on a computer, does it allow you to install on the stick?

Please login at amazon.com then click Get the app button. If auto update enable it'll sync AppleTV+ app for downloading from appstore.

The deal is mentioned in the product description of the Plex app on the Amazon app store.

> ... (annual Plex Pass on sale in-app TODAY ONLY through the Amazon app store for 50% off: $19.99 USD, normally $39.99! - tablets only) ...

>
After the first year, the price of an annual Plex Pass will revert to the regular annual price, currently $39.99. Prices may vary in other currencies.

Note: You must install the Plex app from the Amazon app store to get this deal. You cannot install the app from the Google Play store. The deal is for the annual Plex Pass subscription only, and not available for the monthly or lifetime subscription.

I'm not sure about the tablets only. Someone please confirm. Thanks. Edit: Confirmed working with phones and Fire TV.

Do you have the FireTV stick or 'box'? Looking at the app on the amazon app store it states:Write to external storage I was hoping that meant I could record/save to it.

> Waze (or Google maps in browser maybe? I really need good nav)

Google Maps in a browser intentionally doesn't provide turn-by-turn navigation to force people to use the app.

maps.me is the best option. It's not in F-Droid because they don't want other people using the server where they host the maps, but they make an apk available and offer an option to disable the analytics. OSMAnd has an awful UX but works... and is in F-Droid.

> Snapchat

It won't work on an aftermarket OS since it requires SafetyNet. Need to use alternatives unless you want to make your own OS builds with heavily integrated Play Services, likely some features disabled and fight the endless battle of trying to bypass SafetyNet. Bypassing SafetyNet is isn't going to work for a long time before they break the bypass. Not something you can rely on.

> Plex (with casting)
>
Netflix (with casting)

Netflix started requiring SafetyNet to install it from the Play Store so real SafetyNet integration on their streaming servers is likely coming. No point in working around the initial SafetyNet block by downloading the apk elsewhere when integration within the app / servers is likely coming.

Chromecast is part of Play Services so that isn't available. There are likely alternatives but nothing is integrated / enabled. There was no interest from the community in taking over real maintenance of WiFi display, and no one has put together the hacks required to simply get it working without maintenance for CopperheadOS.

The Plex app likely works without Play and is on the Amazon App Store.

> Hangouts (this is a big one)

That's very unlikely to work without Play Services. You would need to use Wire, Signal, WhatsApp or other alternatives that aren't strongly tied to the Google ecosystem since they tie everything to Play Services.

Steam app on iOS, Android (Google Play), and Android (Amazon Appstore). The website also works from mobile phones. Remember also that the daily deals are lasting for 36 hours; there's a "Yesterday's deals" category below the main deals.

u/Ponkers · 1 pointr/firestick

Did they remove it from the amazon app store or something?

And do you mean have the app from your tablet on the stick? Unless you're talking about the ipad version you download the APK and sideload it onto the stick with adb.

edit: They didn't remove it, just use this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J62Q632

Chromecast version on Play Store is 3.0.6. Amazon is currently only at 3.0.3.

Let's see what happens, but I highly doubt Amazon has that much animosity towards Chromecast.
