I had an episode a few years back where i experienced skin issues and open wounds. I used the below product as a body wash on a loofa or a cloth and it kept my wounds clean and helped to heal. Hope your student finds some relief.

Replying with something useful now. If you don't want it to happen again, use Imperial Sizing Wax, or if you want to use a spray lube, something Lanolin based such as Dillon or Frankfort arsenal.

You can also make it yourself for much cheaper; use these components and mix anywhere from 8:1 to 12:1, it really doesn't matter.

99% Alcohol:

Lanolin:

Spray Bottle:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004KAU7DQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

The only advantage to One-Stuck is that you don't have to tumble it off like you do the lanolin-based lubes. I still use one-shot for pistol brass (even using carbide dies; I like butter smooth sizing), but don't use it on rifle brass anymore. If you don't "shake well" and apply it liberally, you'll pay for it with stuck rifle brass.

Spring for the good stuff. You can't can get 99% isopropyl alcohol some places (like Amazon). Might be able to find it with the first aid stuff, but that's also where you would find the more dilute 70% bottles.

Also, I noticed in Dave's videos he rarely adds flux, just the flux that's built into the multicore solder. I don't know if I'm alone on this one but with flux I always felt the bigger the glob the better the job. Just have to clean it afterwards with the solvent, tissues & brushes.

Edit: Okay that's a much bigger list than I thought, this stuff can get expensive!

1. First question

The kit you linked looks pretty bad from the reviews alone, I wouldn't buy it. You want one of the kits you'll see on sites like Nihonzashi, or from Bill Rannow, or Bob Benson, or anywhere else you see the same mass-produced kit.

The quality of the kits varies. On the other hand the quality needed also varies according to the blade. A monosteel production blade with a budget finish doesn't need special treatment, whereas an antique in $3000 Juyo-level polish ought to be babied a bit more.

Typically, the oil from the online kits is okay to use — note you want the clear oil, the yellower stuff is not as good. The little hammer used to push out the mekugi is virtually identical everywhere. The cleaning & oiling cloths are ok. The uchiko — absorbent / abrasive powder applied via that "pom pom" thing — is often terrible, causing obvious starburst scuffs; better ones are unfortunately kind of expensive.

The cleaning guide I linked to in the nihontō guide is the traditional method. However, a lot of modern collectors — of both Japanese-style & actual antiques — go a totally different route. I myself use:

  1. 100% Anhydrous Isopropyl Alcohol to remove old oil

  2. Blue "shop towels" to apply alcohol or oil and/or wipe down

  3. Microfiber cloths for the last bit of residual oil / water / whatever

  4. Any plain light mineral oil to protect. The oil is perhaps the most religious topic here, you'll hear people say they only use the traditional chōji abura from Japan (just light mineral oil with a few drops of clove for scent), others will say certain gun oils / collector oils are fine, others even go with sewing machine oil or similar… some collectors in dry environments and who have nicely-made traditional shirasaya even go without any oil at all. Note that this debate exists at the level of preserving valuable antiques, it really doesn't make a difference for production swords so long as you use any kind of mineral oil base. No reason you can't use the traditional stuff on a production sword though.

  5. NO uchiko at all! That's right, a lot of modern collectors say that with alcohol, the point of uchiko (to get rid of the dried oil) is moot at best, and destructive at worst. Uchiko is an abrasive left over from the polishing process. It can help clear up a faded blade but on a fresh polish it can only reduce the clarity.

    2. Second question

Not going to go into all the details on this but it highly depends what you mean by "safely display". The traditional method is to rest the sword in koshirae (mounts) edge-up, tsuka-left, in a katana kake. Of course this doesn't prevent anybody from picking it up or anything.

Almost all Clorox wipes are Bleach-Free (unless it's has the blue label which says "Bleach Wipes")

I do not know them chemicals used but your better off getting the ISO wipes that look like wet-naps. They work well for my Mighty and Pax2.

  • Gloves

  • Note pad/pen (to take notes)

  • CPR barrier

  • One Bloodstopper bandage or Emergency Bandage/Wound Stop/Israeli Bandage

  • Antiseptic wipes - more like these ones

  • Sterile gauze, 4x4 size

  • Medical Tape - 2-3", easily tear-able

  • Triangular bandage

  • Garbage bag or large Zip-Loc bag to throw trash in

  • Cell phone

For your other concerns - dislocations, fractures, etc I would not suggest any splints since you are travelling light. Support the injury site as best as you can until EMS arrives - if you put on a splint chances are that EMS will have to remove it anyway to examine the injury location for themselves.

Also FYI be careful with chemical ice packs...I've had a lot of them leak and they are just nasty to clean up.
u/peony_chalk · 5 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I know it sucks, but this might be "go see a doctor" territory. My criteria list is go see a doctor if you hit two of the three "U's": uncomfortable, unusual, and unyielding. This sounds like a recurring problem, so it hits the unyielding. If the bumps hurt, that's uncomfortable, so now you've hit two of the three. And obviously these bumps are unusual -- your body doesn't usually do this -- so that's three for three.

Also, as someone who's at the doctor for a new BS skin infection at least once a year (I take immune-suppressing medication and get all the skin infections) ... what you have sounds like it might be an infection, perhaps like folluculitis. Not a STI! Just a normal infection. And if your diet sucks and you aren't getting enough sleep, that's going to negatively affect your body's ability to fight off an infection.

You're welcome to consult Dr. Google and look for some treatments you could try on your own first -- an antifungal soap, benzoyl peroxide cleanser, salicyclic acid cleanser, or antibacterial soap on affected areas might help, but seriously proceed with caution putting any of those on sensitive areas of your body. And if anyone else posts and is like, THIS IS A TERRIBLE PLAN, listen to them. Just because I don't know why this isn't a terrible plan doesn't mean it isn't a terrible plan.

Any of the aforementioned products may also generally help with body or acne, although you should use them carefully at first since your skin isn't used to harsh cleansers right now. Following up with a moisturizer may help prevent any skin flaking or dryness that results from starting a new regimen, although (a) I wouldn't put it on potentially-infected skin, and (b) patch test it just to make sure it doesn't irritate your skin. You should also be using sunscreen on any exposed skin (like your face) ESPECIALLY if you use a product with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in it. (PS - benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabrics, so watch out for your towels/sheets/clothes.) There are also topical treatments that use the same ingredients as those cleansers, and those might help too.

Let us know if you need some moisturizer recommendations for either face or body. I'm sure someone else could also recommend different cleansers -- I've at least seen the PanOxyl and ZapZyt recommended on here, although I totally pulled the Sal3 and Hibiclens recommendations out of thin air, so take those with a grain of salt.

u/healthyalmonds · 5 pointsr/AskDocs

Staph is killed by chlorhexidine (Hibiclens). Purchasing a Hibiclens body wash, say from Amazon, and washing your armpits and other parts of your body with it may kill the bacteria and get rid of your symptoms.

Best of wishes!

u/kostic · 5 pointsr/bicycling

The best stuff is Tegaderm. I won't use anything else on road rash. Clean the wound well and sterilize with Hibiclens or something similar. Then, cover the whole wound with Tegaderm. In my experience wounds covered in Tegaderm heal much faster as they stay moist. If your wound has a lot of exudate you can use an absorbent bandage at the bottom of the Tegaderm which will soak up any excess discharge and can be disposed of without disturbing the healing process.

I use 99% isopropyl alcohol:
And epsom salt:
(https://smile.amazon.com/Epsoak-Salt-Magnesium-Sulfate-Resealable/dp/B004N7FE8Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1483705454&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=epsom+salt&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&psc=1)

If you only smoke trees and not tobacco or any other additives these two things will make your glass look brand new in almost no time. I clean daily as well and to clean my whole rig only takes about 5 minutes since it's just a quick rinse with the isoproply and epsom salt, then a minute under some cool water until you cant smell the isoproply anymore. I also have this brush set dedicated for cleaning my glass:

Try going hairless and using Crystal Deodorant. It comes in several scents and is all natural so nothing in it will harm your vaginal balance. However, it is made of various salts so would probably taste horrible to anyone giving you oral. Musk is caused by a couple of things: the bacteria that lives at your hair roots and sweating. Fancy polyester briefs are not absorbent. You can't completely kill the bacteria on your vulva (and it isn't a great idea to even try), but you may be able to reduce it by scrubbing your hairless (or close trimmed) vulva with an antibacterial soap. Then pat dry and use the deodorant. Wear an absorbent panty, like one for exercising meant to wick moisture away. A couple of weeks of steady routine and you should see a difference.

If it's just a rash due to topical irritation, it may help to remove the adhesive's residue after removing a patch in addition to cleansing the application site of a new patch.

I was getting a rash at first, too, then I started using alcohol prep pads before and after applying Emsam, and it really helped! I use these.

Not sure if that will help, but good luck.

  1. Wrap the LED strip around the plastic container to this effect: https://imgur.com/oB98Qxl . Make sure you wrap so that the power cable connector will be at the bottom of the container. Make sure you secure the beginning and the end of the LED strip to container with a piece of tape.

  2. Wrap the LED'd container with aluminum foil - shiny side facing inward. Lay out a long piece of foil on the floor, shiny side facing up, just enough to cover the container's length once. Secure the beginning of the foil piece with a piece of tape, and then secure the end of the foil. Try to wrap without causing creases in the foil, keeping the foil as shiny and smooth as possible. Make sure your power cable plug in point is popping out and able to be plugged in.

  3. Secure a piece of foil to the base, shiny side facing inward.

  4. Secure a piece of foil to the lid, shiny side inward. Take a piece of tape and make a 2-sticky-sided loop to secure the foil. Make sure the foil is not interfering with the lid's ability to securely close.

  5. Wrap the whole thing with your gorilla or duct tape. Make sure your power cable plug-in point is popping out and able to be plugged in.

I carry Coleman Biowipes or similar. Currently using Trailblazer bamboo wipes that I like since they are a bit bigger, but I see Amazon not currently selling. Of course if water is plentiful then just a couple of towels will do.

I like my Helinox Chair Zero if I'm backpacking, otherwise just one of those collapsible sport chairs.

Camp shoes -- Crocs, flipflops or just a pair of slippers. Depends a bit on the terrain I'll be expecting.

Doormat for the tent if not backpacking. Helps keep things clean. Small whisk broom.

Thanks! If you're having a hard time cleaning your piece, try 99% proof Isopropyl Alcohol (available in most supermarkets) and some kosher salt (since it's coarse, it acts as a good abrasive). Mix it in the pipe, shake vigorously and rinse. I know some ents prefer a broken in pipe, but for me there's nothing better than smoking from a fresh, clean pipe.

I literally just got my super hairy back waxed two weeks ago and I had the terrible acne for a week. It was so bad I couldn't sleep on my back. Use this stuff for a week or two, it works wonders.

u/Yggdrsll · 3 pointsr/AutoDetailing

Common recommendation is between 10% and 15%. Here's a how to to get that percentage with some of the more common percentage IPA's on the market: https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/2009-to-2017-how-to-articles-by-mike-phillips/31183-how-mix-ipa-inspecting-correction-results.html

Otherwise you can do what I did and get 99% IPA and dilute it somewhere between 1 to 8 and 1 to 9 or so. It's super cheap, especially considering it makes something like 15 gallons worth of diluted solution.

u/sunflowercompass · 3 pointsr/westworld

Because it's easier to spray a piece of plastic with bleach than rinsing your eyes out with bleach solution... One leaves you still able to see and pee.

edit: Here, take a look at this antiseptic on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EV1D79A/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't have the bottle in front of me, but it warns of hearing loss if it gets in your ears, blindness if it gets in your eyes, and I assume burning if it gets on your genitals.

u/swede_love · 2 pointsr/Coachella

this stuff is the best thing that you can possibly buy if you have a problem with body odor. it kills the bacteria that make your feet and pits stink, and makes it really hard for them to repopulate. which means you stay stench-free. buy the 4oz bottle and use it very sparingly to wash your feet and armpits the night before or the morning of your drive to indio.

you can use it again in the showers while you're there if you're so inclined, but I've found that even just that initial application is enough to keep the funk at bay for the weekend (if I take a shower every day). seriously, it's worth its weight in gold to not have stinky feet and pits. especially in a tent. if you're that guy with the smelly feet, your friends will thank you for using this. just be very careful not to get it in your eyes! chlorhexidine gluconate is not something you want to get near a mucus membrane.

I already have a bottle at home, so if you like this please don't buy it for me! there must be another stinky coachellitor that could use it. hope this helps somebody :)

u/TyroKith · 2 pointsr/trees

I've never seen isopropyl alcohol above 90% at any Walmart or other big box store. But it looks like you can buy a 16 oz bottle of 99% on Amazon for $1.77. Please be formatted right! Edit: Success!

From my own experience cleaning my pieces, if you really want to get every last bit of tar out so that your pieces look store-bought new and your rips are delicious, you can't half-ass it and use 70%. It's gotta be 90%+.

u/Toking_Coder · 2 pointsr/trees

Just so you know I found 99% Iso on amazon for quite cheap, you do have to pay more for shipping than for the actual product but the cost may be worth it for the higher purity.

I get em for something like $2.50 for a double box of 400. Once you have em, you find all sorts of uses. I also use them to clean my headphones as alcohol dissolves grease and wax better than water.

Just make sure to test on something not visible first. I tried to clean the T100 foam tips in my 215k IEM's and the alcohol dissolved them hehe.

I see several chlorhexidine washes on Amazon that are definitely for human use, including Hibiclens and Dyna-Hex. I don't know know if there would be any effect a tattoo (past the healing stage, anyway) but I can't think of any reason for it to affect a tattoo any more than another antibacterial soap would.

My guess is probably iso alcohol. Stuffs pretty cheap and can get it in 90-99% at stores for first aid stuff, heard can get it at hardware stores as well but i'd avoid that stuff as it's probably got impurities as it's for cleaning and solvent use and not medical use. $14 for 3 16oz bottles of 99% iso alcohol

u/LeonHRodriguez · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

clean it with Isopropyl Alcohol, 99% purity if possible

ISO is really useful for cleaning things that would otherwise rust or get damaged

u/ponyboy0 · 2 pointsr/camping

You don't really need too much out of the ordinary. If anything, more water than you'd usually bring. I just got back from car camping down south this past weekend and I really didn't have much of anything with me past the typical; sleep system (unless you're sleeping in your car), camp chairs (I used hammocks), camp stove or firewood depending on the fire regulations, rope/paracord, a tarp or two, duct tape and plenty of water. It's nice to have extra water (or, if you'll be nearby a water source, a filtration system and a bucket) just to wash yourself off occasionally. I also like to bring these with me to supplement tp.

I think you'll find that you don't need facilities as much as you think you might. Have fun!

u/ColossalKnight · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Hola hotpinkfishfood! I've been trying to get better motivated for my writing and working on that stuff. Also went on vacation with the family two weeks ago!

Well, this right here would be my first choice. But that's just because there are things that are a little expensive I'm saving up for.

If not, then this item would be nice to go along with the first aid kit I still need to build. Surprisingly, other than my mp3 and Kindle wishlists, I don't have much on my wishlists lower than even $10, including shipping.

And oh yeah, should I happen to win...if you happen to pick the second item, could you type in "smile.amazon.com" first and select the National Psoriasis Foundation for the charity? Using that link, Amazon donates a certain percentage of an (eligible) item's price to a charity of your choice. So that would be extra awesome lol

These Lumocolor Pens I used to use on maps in the military, I use them for my dnd maps now on the chessex maps.

Unlike others have said, despite being "permanent", they have not damaged my map the way Vis a vis did. I use these wipes to wipe it off, I can do some detailed work.

They receive my highest recommendation.

Oh my God that is beyond disgusting! I work in healthcare so blood remaining anywhere is like the devil. I would flip out on her for sure. Plus, how in the hell did it get on the freaking wall?! That reminds me of the bathroom scene in Daddy Day Care with the kid being potty trained that simply 'missed'. As for removing the stain, you can try a baking soda/water paste mixture and gently rub it over the stain, or spray peroxide on it.

If you are worried about any sort of bloodborne pathogens (I would be) you can look into getting some healthcare grade disinfecting wipes. Clorox has ones called germicidal wipes that are hospital grade. After taking medical courses for several years (I went through the EMT program and am studying to become a nurse practitioner) I look at all human goo like it's contaminated with Hepatitis, HIV or AIDS. Also if you do end up cleaning it make sure you wear gloves, especially if you get the clorox wipes as they could dry out your hands. Hope this helps a little bit and I'm sorry your roommate is a beast.

Here's a link to them on our trusty Amazon lol:

While this won't stop the sweat, it WILL stop the smell. Wash your feet with Hibiclens or the generic from cvs. It kills bacteria for 24 hours, including the bacteria that causes smells (it's used in hospitals & before surgeries). I bartend and can easily spend 12 hours in the same shoes and it is a game changer. You can wash other areas with it and it will easily eliminate the body odor funk for a day, despite being sweaty.

Most likely bacterial contamination. Wash your spray bottle with hot water and soap (scrub it if you can, inside and out) Then let it air dry and sterilize it buy immersing in isopropyl alcohol for atleast 2 minutes. Then wrap it in a paper towel (to prevent airborne bacteria from contaminating it and let it air dry for a long while to let all the isoprop evaporate. This will ensure your nasal spray bottle is as sterile as possible.

When dispensing the insulin from the vial into the bottle, the best method is as follows:

Work on a clean surface (you can disinfect with isoprop and a paper towel) Wash you hands before touching any of the materials. Prep your area by taking the vial out of the box, opening you nasal spray bottle, getting your syringe and as many disposable alcohol swabs as you need. Then use a swab on the top of the vial, another swab on the needle, and a third swab on the straw part of the sprayer. Fill the syringe with the same amount of air as the volume of insulin your taking out of the bottle by pulling on the syringe. Insert the needle into the vial, depress the syringe to fill the vial with the air, then turn the vial upside down and withdraw the volume of insulin. (depending on how much insulin your taking out of the vial you may have to put a little bit of air in, then pull the same volume of insulin out, put more air in, etc until the syring has the volume you want in it) If you must take the syringe out of the vial for whatever reason and then put it back in, swab the needle again and the top of the vial (with seperate swabs) Then just dispense the insuling into the spray bottle and cap it.

This method follows aseptic technique and will ensure the sterility of the insulin. Just be sure to dispose of the syringe properly. Syringes come with plastic caps over the needle, so just put it back on when your throwing out the needle.

I mixed it all in the full sized jars that the loose eyeshadows came in and then poured it into the pan afterwards. If really sweaty: blot on dry towel, blot with mild soapy wet towel, blot on diff dry towel, wipe down with good wipes (https://smile.amazon.com/PT-Q55172-Disinfectant-Sani-Cloth-Professional-Disposables/dp/B005MRURFY -- The Operating Room at my wife's work uses these!), then let air dry usually hanging over an AC vent that we have near the play area or in a window if it is nice out. That whole process takes just a minute or so and got rid of that lingering funky smell that was starting and has kept them comfortable as day #1.

If dry but used: just the germ wipes and air dry. It may not do much but it makes me and everyone else feel better about sharing.

That said, I am really wanting a solid leather cover setup for guests or something. Ideally I would have a pair of nice leather covers and a bunch of machine washable cloth covers, with a preference on the latter.

My wife is handy with that stuff and we're going to start trying to find the sweet spot in material & thickness to crank out a dozen or so of our own. It would be sweet to be able to just rip off a dirty one, toss it in the laundry, wipe down the gear, and slap on a fresh one!

You can't get 100% because distilling ethanol and water can't get below 99%. You need to add benzene and once distilled it needs to be kept in an air free container or stored below -20C. Manufacturers won't go through that effort outside of a specific demand.

For patients with more contagious illnesses there are tools such as masks, gowns, disposable stethoscopes, isolation precautions, etc. Also, all surfaces and stations are routinely wiped down with these bad-boys.

I'd use Vashe for dirty wounds, especially those with odor. Vashe does not hurt, does not harm healing tissue, but kills pathogens very effectively without contributing to antimicrobial resistance.

Also, if the wound looks pink/red and clean - cleansing with normal saline or wound wash is fine and actually the preferred method.

For dirty feet or other general areas that you want to cleanse well but also have open wounds, consider a chlorhexidine soap. it provides prolonged antimicrobial activity and when diluted with water doesn't irritate wounds. All of these products are used in wound clinics.

Iodine is really only painful on an open wound, on whole skin is should be ok. But BZK wipes would be the alternate choice. The bottom line is that none of these things are going to feel great if they hit mucus membranes. So yeah, you may have to man up a bit. Try the BZK though.

Get yourself some Cranberry pills and take them every day. They really do help prevent the UTI's to begin with....

I honestly don't have much experience with long term wear, so I'm afraid I'm venturing into the realm of speculation here. The idea of something being in my urethra that long doesn't actually appeal to me to much. (Says the guy with a 4 gauge PA ring sticking out of his urethra.) I love how exquisitely sensitive my urethra is, and am terrified that I'll loose sensitivity with long term wear. That being said, take some alcohol wipes, or BZK wipes with you. Wipe down everything you can reach every time you go pee and I'd guess you're likely to be OK. Honestly I don't have a clue though, so if you go through with it, I'd love some anecdotal.

Here is an example of 99% IPA and here is some 70%. These are the first 2 I found looking on Amazon and they have similar packaging. The 70% costs $1 more but has 4x as many bottles. 99% is better, but not four times better. There are some circumstances where you might need to clean quickly or something, and you might be able to find a better price for the 99% somewhere, but in almost every situation I think the 70% is the more frugal purchase.

Personally I am going to try and avoid parts for his build because of not knowing exactly what he has.

You could get him zip ties, velcro strips, tool kit (just search computer tool kit on amazon), usb drive, DAC/AMP, nice router, custom mouse pad, nice pair of head phones, power supply tester, Electricity Usage Monitor, Electric Duster, Microfiber Cleaning Cloths, 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol),... I could keep on going but I think you get the idea. Hopefully when you post your build I'll come back to edit my comment.

How's 99.9% for you? Search Amazon for MG Chemicals alcohol wipes.

Try a different glue stick, they aren't all created the same.

Clean your bed and wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol (I use these) then try to print on the raw glass.

Not sure if this is the 'PDF' you speak of, but best place is here: http://manual.prusa3d.com/c/Original_Prusa_i3_MK2_kit_assembly because you get high resolution images and can read comments against each step that other builders have made during their builds. Lots of good hints & tips there, plus a video from Joseph about calibration.

Edit: Buy one of these for bed-removal of objects: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VB1U886/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And a pack of these to clean your bed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KJ6U8NE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think you may have used the wrong ISO Heet. IIRC the red one has additives in it for diesel engines. You need pretty much just pure Isopropyl alcohol.

91% is typically sold at Rite Aid and CVS (these store are in the Northeast US)

I purchase 99% to clean my glass off of Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B5JT8C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3KB7XYG03LIW1

I found this instead which is cheaper but only 99%, will that work just as well?

I did it vaginally for a month. I used some alcohol wipes I got off Amazon to sterilize it after each use. I just put it in. I wouldn't imagine discharge of any sort should affect your temps. Mine didn't mention vaginal but worked fine for that. FF doesn't care too terribly much between one cycle and the next.

My biggest issue with vaginal temping was the beeping. I don't hear it if it's under the covers and I'm very prone to dozing off while I'm waiting for the temp. The beeping wakes me up again. Maybe if I had a quick read thermometer it wouldn't be such a big deal, but oral temping works better for me. Maybe the temps are a little less consistent, but I still see patterns so whatevs.

2 oz lanolin in a 16 oz bottle then fill with alcohol.

Put 25 cases in a ziploc with 3 squirts and shake.

Best thing to do is reapply it. Get some Artic Silver 5 and a coffee filter and Some [99%] Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the old thermal paste off with and re apply the cooler.

At which point it's not a bad idea to get an aftermarket cooler to have temps even lower and possible OC in the future [assuming you have a Z97 [or possible a quality Z87] mobo]

With a stock cooler I'd expect idle temps with stock settings for a 4790k to be in the 40Cs area with room temp in the mid 20s and with an aftermarket cooler [witch do in most cases, including this one I recommend come with it's own thermal paste which you can use instead] around low to mid 30s.

Get yourself some hibiclens. Add into daily shower routine - Wash as normal (regular soap) and finish with a quick scrub with this around balls / armpits & and that shit cuts down on the musk big time. Don’t use it on your face or in place of soap though it’s aggressive.

A lot of 70% isopropyl alcohols contain oils, which are obviously not good for leaving a clean surface on your CPU/heatsink.

I'd honestly try for 99%. This is what I buy.

You don't need much of it and you only really buy it once in a great while, so you may as well get the right stuff now and not worry about it again for a while.
